Where are the 2 Seat Voodoo's ?

It was also active during a transitional period where technology was advancing pretty fast, stuff became obsolete before it could even take root. -
Where are the 2 Seat Voodoo's ?
Jeremiah Weed replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Am I the only person that does not like this a/c. (The actual a/c NOT the mod or the work of the modders) I just don't like how it flies and how you have to employ it because of this. -
Nothing much, just Crazy Ivan taxiing off the runway in a mined area for no apparent reason. No mines, thank God. It isn't fun when C-17 nose gear don't deploy. It is cool to hang with people that have saved your life countless times. Charms from an MRE are worth walking through mined areas for some people.

BVR DETECTION

I am horrible at explaining things. Set your radar to 100 NM use "home" to select a radar contact use "insert" to lock on Fire -

But how are you trying to lock on to the target? You aren't going to if you are just hitting the "T" key. -

What procedures are you using with your radar, I just flew 2 missions and had no problem engaging targets well beyond visual range with AIM-54s. -

My friend did that jump. They didn't even get a mustard stain for it. In retrospect the guys from 3rd Bat (Rangers) that jumped into Afghanistan and killed a couple janitors at an airbase and then ex-filled in choppers did... Edit: I guess 2 years later they classified it a combat jump so they did get a mustard stain for it. Good. -
What do you think is missing from this sim?
Jeremiah Weed replied to scouserlad13's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Pretty sure I played those missions, but it has been nearly 10 years haha. I remember a guy on the internet named "Vark" or something that had some awesome lib files. The premises behind some of the campaigns and missions were hilarious. I remember making many missions to kill "Anti-Stealth Blimps" -

I made a few missions where the objective was to kill a moose or 2. I also had the ATF Toolkit. My first hand at modding. -

Yes, indeed I am trying to "reskin" the troops! I will try that right now. I'm not the most advance photoshop user in the world so thanks for the help Wrench. -

I have no Idea how many really fun missions I created with that mission builder. It did have it's limits, but it was simple and easy to use and you could create complicated ops using it. -
A-10C mod
Jeremiah Weed replied to airborne1991's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Pretty sure you can already load JDAM and WCMD weapons on the A-10 in the game, the modifications that update the A to the C aren't really simulated in the game. You could make a new pit I guess, but the enhanced systems wouldn't exactly work. -

Datalink, Standoff jamming (IE so it actually matters if there is an ECM A/C with you) better wingman interaction. But I'm satisfied with everything there is now. -

Rhodesia - 1980's
Jeremiah Weed replied to Jeremiah Weed's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
It entered service in 1973, I doubt any operator would be willing to give them up in 1981, especially not the British who didn't exactly support Rhodesia after the UDI on November 11, 1965. The Australian A-4Gs are even a stretch, but more believable than the Jaguar would be. It would take shady Cold War arms deals to get Rhodesia weapons in the 1980's. Nothing, that new anyways, could come directly from the UK, France, the US or any other Western Power. -
Rhodesia - 1980's
Jeremiah Weed replied to Jeremiah Weed's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Yes, but I envision this being able to be downloaded in one file, without people having to find and download a bunch of other files, I can't do that using those a/c. Not a slag on them for doing their thing, just don't want to make it a pain to use this mod. Now that's enough on that subject. -

I am working with the standard 1000, however for such a small area of terrain, maybe it would be better to make it more detailed? -
Rhodesia - 1980's
Jeremiah Weed replied to Jeremiah Weed's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Actually, I did think of this aircraft, but I'm not sure how willing South Africa would have been to give up some of their operational a/c, even to an ally, with their ongoing operations against the ANC and in Angola. Certainly with more money and support going to Rhodesia during this time period would have caused repercussions in South Africa where they would not want to lose any equipment they were currently using. However, I do like the a/c a lot and it really fits the role well, so I guess I am at a loss as what to do. Right now I am going through the headache of building the terrain, it is going to take a while! Thank you for the interest though, I'm glad a few people seem to find this idea interesting.
