How to put together a good F-14
StarBucker replied to StarBucker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It looks like this mod http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&req=display&code=ss&full=1&id=6121 reflects the real F14A pilot cockpit, I did a research and found this out http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-detail-cp-a-pilot-01.htm. This is my own preference I just dont take the TCS mod. ://http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-detail...e the TCS mod. -

Fubar512 RWR Symbology Mod

If the default/stock aircraft does not have a cockpit folder, can this mod be applied? Also, how do I know what avionics I am using - Simple or Hard? -
Fubar512 RWR Symbology Mod

Cool! Absolutely the most brilliant mod I have ever came across. You know this should be the core rather than a mod. Know why, the radio chatter always misleads me with "SAM Launch" and I have absolutely no idea whom was being launched upon. With this RWR imrpovement I have all the information in the world to tell if I am being launched upon now.. Too good! Heavens! Just a reminder that the avionics file should go into the selected aircraft's folder not the Aircrafts folder inside the Objects folder. I didn't get it to work in WoE withthe A10. -

Having a problem with a laser designator
StarBucker replied to HawgEngineMech's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
So I cant just check on my ground radar and pick up any one of those dots on the ground radar as my target, does "E" do the job for that? -
Having a problem with a laser designator

Is the key "Home" for selecting the target? Do I need to lock it up also, before dropping the bomb? Thanks in advance. -

That's what I find interesting. Since the LGB will hit the target without ever missing it even if you drop at 10nm away from the target at an altitude of 2000ft, the heavy bomb still glides itslf to the target. You mentioned primary STRIKE targets, so are you saying that with a LD, I can target non-primary targets? What are the key strokes for moving the designator and lock on to the targets? -

WOI Patch August 2008 Released!
StarBucker replied to column5's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I wonder if I can put a U-2 in to AoI and see if it can do a climb up to 80,000 ft. But then, WoI is not flexible enough to adpat to mods as much as WoV, WoE or SF does. -

Many many years ago, EA produced Jane's Combat Simulation series and the F-15 modelled in the game could climb up to 100,000 and it was beautiful. The sky colour is banded. Flying on vapour -

Trees add lives to WoV
StarBucker replied to StarBucker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I really love this game. A year ago, ground units are not intelligent. After downloading one of the ground object add-on, I find tanks fight fiercely than before. I am now thinking about putting together a new system so that it can handle some add-on like the thermonuclear addon which is very stunning. I think the more emmitter you have the more powerful CPU you need to deal with that. This is a good game. -

With a widescreen 22" LCD, you can even see inside the pit of a MiG-21!! This game is fantastic! -

A pity is that hardware technologies confine the design of trees to be an "X" shape object. I did choose "Medium" but still my hardware cannot handle well enough. I can only use Greenhell for the time being! Some more beautiful screenshots -
Wide screen and TW games

Is that the smaller the size, the bigger characters appear under the same resolution? -
Is that a mod or an add-on?

Wide screen and TW games

I thought you meant 22"... as far as I know there are no 21" which support 1680X1050. Mine is 22" Liberty. It's good just looks compressed a bit, distorted. -

Thanks! I tried your method, it works. But the frame rate is very bad on my machine. That's why I believe I need a more powerful CPU and video card. -

I have found another issue with this LG L227WT-PF unit is that if I tune down the brightness and contrast at the same time making it "warm" temperature for long hours working, I find the upper half of the display appears to be darker than the lower half of the display and the difference is quite obvious! If I tune up the settings such that it is very bright, this problem goes away but my eyes are very tired after 30 minutes or so. -

Trees add lives to WoV

1680X1050 is this LCD's optimum resolution, the game runs with a little less than 60 frames at this resolution with graphics set to medium, I can settle for that. But when I am not playing games say just surf the net, the texts are so small. In the office, I use a Philips 19S which is a 4:3 19" LCD. It's max resolution is 1280X1024 but at that resolution, texts are much bigger. I think I have purchased a wrong LCD monitor for both gaming and working purposes and wasted $380. -

Sorry for the late reply. The name of the mod is indeed green hell 1. I also installed Brain32's VietnameSEA repaint mod. Hey folks, I have a slight off-topic question here hope you would excuse me. Just bout a LG L227WT 22" wide screen which I think it is doing 16:10 aspect ratio. The game supports it I am good with that, the only thing I am getting right now is it has to go up as high as 1680X1050 to get really sharp images. My video card is quite behind today's standard which is a Sapphire X1950Pro 512MB RAM. Before the new monitor, I was actually using a CRT which is only 17" and practically usable as a 15" as you know. With the old CRT, even I do it at 800x600 I get quite sharp images because I use 6xAA 16XAF. With the new LCD I downgraded it to 1280X800 and then applied the same AA and AF setting, somehow the images are blur if you see what I mean. The images you are seeing up there was generated from my CRT. Is it the "nature" of a LCD monitor which I lose some image qualities as penalty of not using the highest resolution?
