  1. CTD

    I figured it out
  2. Is this a trick question? Edit..... Sorry for the smart-ass remark...........a plane that had some updated avionics, like ILS and a moving map display with waypoint info........... I would, I'd pay the same amount as it costs for a copy of the whole game $20. I've paid dbl that for payware aircraft in FS, the problem is that there are so many amasingly talented people out there offering pieces of art for free that you would really need something like a big avionics upgrade to justify putting out extra cash. But if someone did.......count me in
  3. Why not just create a new pilot in your existing install and call him........VFR pilot(or something like that) and then use a mission editor (KMD or Lemissioneire ) and create a mission with no objective, no targets, and no enemy aircraft........fly around till you get board and then back and land. This way your pilot records wont get blemished and you get to go play Nothing beats a little canyon baggin in ANW
  4. I cant help myself, I have to say it...........I f%$#ing told you so you asked 4 days ago for a hornet and I gave you a link to the best and easiest one to get going in, just think about how many things you could have blown up in four days who cares if it says 'super hornet' or 'hornet' on the loading screen.........if you took either of these planes out for a mission in this (game) and you never saw the loadout screen in the beginning I pretty sure you wouldnt know the difference between which plane was which (I wouldnt) besides there is nothing stopping you from having more than one f-18 in your game............... Anyways I'm sorry to hear about your black screen problem and I hope you get it straightened out soon, you've allready lost 4 days of (super)simming
  5. Check the knowledge base section here on the forum, it explains how to get rid of the upper right radar screen without losing your visual targeting, as for the extra writing in the lower corners, I think there is info in the knowledge base to get rid of or shrink that writing, you can also re-map 'Alt D' to one button like 'H' or 'D' to make it easier and quicker to cycle through the info
  6. You didnt take my advice ........... follow the link, D/L the f-18, run the installer (no winrar-no z7), start the game and go fly there are lots of great planes from Column5, this is just one of them..........and it's easy to load up which is why I suggested it ..............and it's as good as the other F18s out there
  7. I'm pretty sure that tailspin hit the nail on the head with this one.......you need to go into option/controllers and set the axis' for the game.
  8. Did you find yourself a bug to play with
  9. Half way down this page, http://www.column5.us/miragef.shtml it comes with an installer(so its really easy ).........and it's still my favourite plane of all time in this game the FA-18A Enjoy Rom
  10. Welcome to CA Warrior108 What I do is I have a folder on my front page that is just for simulator downloads, and anything you D/L goes into it, then just as Jeremiah said, there usually is read-me file that explains how to put whatever you have D/L into the game. it's usually as easy as drag and drop into whatever folder,or sometimes you get lucky and they provide an installer. Good luck Rom
  11. So is this set-up working for you, and what exactly did you do (hat buttons -functions) I'm curious cause I am about a week away from getting trackir and I'm sure it will completely change my needs as far as button mapping.
  12. At an airshow a few years back I had a chance to chat with an F16 pilot while we both stood on a platform beside his f16 looking into the cockpit .......it was very cool!! when asked, he explained that one of the toggles on the stick was trim, and the hat was for moving the curser on the radar to acquire targets........perhaps you could set up your hat to control the radar (up) to cycle, (left, right) range,(down) to acquire target...........as for the trim, yes you can set-up the game to use trim, do a search and you should find it.
  13. So I found myself snooping around on Streak Eagles web page http://mysite.verizon.net/streakeagle/StrikeFighters.html it's actually a pretty helpfull page with some great resources One thing that really caught my eye was a link to a progy for voice activation of various aspects of the game http://mysite.verizon.net/streakeagle/SFP1Shoot.html this seems very intriguing to me for radio calls..........the idea of saying "wing attack my target" instead of searching for "tab-1-1" sounds to good to be true Has anyone tried this? and if so, is it any good? Cheers Rom
  14. you mean you can play this game without a joystick
  15. Have you tried it in any of the original WOX games or just in SF2/V ?
  16. Hey Guys I currently have an unpatched version of WOE that I have set up just the way I like it I'm getting very close to pulling the trigger on a Trackir.......my question is, does WOE support Trackir out of the box or will I need to re-install and patch-up to get it working? Thanks in advance.....and sorry if its allready in the KB but I didnt see it
  17. I know from my limited time trying someone elses Trackir that it can be.........awkward at first, but from everything I've read you just need to push through that adjustment period and then youll never look back, also apparently keeping the sensitivity down at first can help getting adjusted. I've got about three weeks to wait and I'm sooo fired up about it
  18. Thanks for the input guys, I have used trackir on a buddies system but for FS...........I knew it was only a matter of time and as much as I'm look forward to having it for FS........I'm really pumped about having it for WOE
  19. Exactly what kind of monitor did you have in mind ...............I guess the only other way to acheive this would be a projector
  20. This has a couple of articles about bombing and how to do it http://www.simhq.com/_air/air_055a.html the first article is fairly easy to get your head around and it works pretty darn well the second one is much more involved, but definately a good read. Basically the first article says 10000ft at 400kts until your 4miles away from target, aim reticle on the target in a dive until about 1mile from the target......and pickle!........pull up and watch in your mirrors how well you did As mentioned earlier.......'the Range' is a must have.
  21. The idea of a Norway scenery and campaign makes me think of my first love in combat flight sims Jetfighter 3, it was a scenario where the evil Russian empire invaded Norway to take over an extremely lucrative oil well industry.....So you were sent in as part of a multinational defence team to fend off the communist aggressor It was all F22 and F18 being flown from carriers and it was great fun. It was actually very similar to TW games in a "sim lite" kind of way.
  22. So, by far my favourite plane the last little while has been the f-18a, the two things that annoyed me with it were the automatic flaps, which I have fixed, and controlling the flaps makes a huge difference when on final, now the nose drops down (like it should) with full flaps allowing a slower approach with much improved visability especially when trapping The second issue I am hoping someone can help me with, when calling up a Maverick to strike a ground target, my radar screen turns white and blank, is there something I need to change in order for it to show the tv screen target veiw that I assume it is supposed to show? the mavericks still seems to work and hit their targets, and this tv screen function works in my A-10 just not in this f-18a. Any help would be appreciated Rom
  23. So I'm at 90 veiws and no one has any idea what I'm asking Does anyone else fly this great plane? and if so does the tv screen work for maverick missiles....or is it just me? thanks Rom
  24. Ooops! I must have forgot to say please
