  1. Hey ace There was nothing wrong with your question.....and there is nothing wrong with asking questions. Seems odd to me to have someone who has clearly moved on to other platforms poke their head in here and take a shot at you for asking a fair question......perhaps wherever SE has been hanging out lately they aren't as civil towards each other as people still are over here in the SF2 forums
  2. Hey Geary It's to bad you are having trouble getting Shoot to run with SF2, I am running 64bit vista and it runs great so I don't think that 64 bit Is the issue......Did you take the time to run through all the voice tutorials within windows before using the program with SF, as tedious as the training is, it makes a big difference how well the program runs. It is very simple and very effective within the game and if you can get it going I am sure you would like it. Cheers Romflyer
  3. File Name: SF2 X-52pro profile File Submitter: Romflyer File Submitted: 21 February 2014 File Category: Joystick Config Files This file is designed to be used with a default control ini. so if you have made significant changes to your controls button assignments then you should move them away from the controls folder within your mod folder and then start the game and let it create a fresh "default.ini" in the controls folder prior to trying this profile. To install just place the "SF PITkey.pro" into your 'C:/user/public/documents/saitekSD6 profiles' folder then activate the profile with the little green icon in the bottom right corner of of your lower taskbar.....start the game and assign your axis and you should be good to go. you will have 3 modes NAV, A-A, A-G. Hat #1 works the radar regardless of which mode is selected Hat #2 •(NAV mode) cycles waypoints and also enables elevator trim •(A-A mode) cycles visual air targets •(A-G mode) cycles ground targets Hat #3 •(A-A mode) Cycles A-A weapons •(A-G mode) Cycles A-G weapons Everything else is not effected by which mode you are in See the attached JPEG which better explains where everything is on the layout. Enjoy Cheers Romflyer Click here to download this file
  4. I am pretty sure that updating your SST program from Saitek and then placing the .pr0 as per the instructions will get you goingLet me know if that helps Cheers Rom
  5. Actually the small icon is a black picture of a little joystick......when you activate the profile it turns green. I assume you have current drivers and their Smart technology software installed?

  7. Hartchakra I'm glad you got it going I have uploaded it now (thanks Wrench)
  8. This profile is set-up to run with the default.ini for controls......if you have made a bunch of changes to your controls then I would suggest you go into your controls folder and empty the contents from it then run the game to let it generate a clean default controls ini, from there go in and assign all the correct axis' on the stick and throttle and then exit the game ........now load up the SF pitkey profile from the small green saitek icon on the lower right toolbar of your desktop.......then launch the game again and see if the assignments now match what my earlier picture shows.
  9. Well I am trying to upload this profile.......I keep getting the message that I dont have permission to upload this kind of file??.........Can anyone tell me why I am getting this message ? In the mean time this link should get it to you. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/52011973/SF%20PITkey.pr0 Just drop it into C:/user/public/documents/saitekSD6 profiles. Hope it works for you Romflyer EDIT: Please let me know how it works for you.
  10. Go into your controls folder and move the default.ini away from the controls folder then start the game and let it generate a fresh one, then go back into that folder and make a copy of the new default.ini and rename it Ottopilot.ini...... Or whatever you want to call it, then start up the game and in controls setup use your new profile "ottopilot" instead of the "default" profile. Hopefully that helps If not.....what patch level are you at? Cheers Romflyer
  11. Hey Ace.....I'm glad to hear that you got it figured (I told ya some here would have the answer ) I am pretty sure you dont have anything crossed in your wiring...... (I think ) that what Supgen's ini edit did was tell the game to send the FFB impulses to the yaw axis instead of sending them to the pitch axis, that way the info went to your TM instead of your X-52. The perfect solution!!
  12. There is an ILS system which provides a glideslope as long as you have SF2-NA
  13. Well I don't have IL2 but I assume that the controllers for it are similar to that in FS, where if you can have multiple controllers plugged in and assigned to any axis so whichever controller is being moved is the one that the game recognizes......with SF2 you can only assign one controller to any axis, FFB effects are assigned to the primary controller (pitch, roll) you have those assigned to your X52.....which means no FFB effects are getting sent to your Thrustmaster. I'm pretty sure that why it's not working.....but that doesn't mean there isn't a way around it ?
  14. Hey Ace......Welcome to Combat Ace, I think the lack of responses to your issue is mostly related to a lack of understanding exactly what the problem is??....If you are gonna find a fix for whatever your problem is with SF2, then THIS is the the place to find it. I am curious to understand a little bit better what exactly you are using this second controller for......if you are using your X-52 for flight controls then I assume you have cannibalized the Thrustmaster to use it for buttons?......so where exactly is the FFB?.....if not part of your primary controller. (perhaps a picture of your set-up?) And force feedback does work in SF2.....
  15. Rigel The veiwlist.ini is by far the best way to go, you just make the one change and your good to go as compared to going into each model and changing the cockpit ini one at a time...... I'm not sure what you mean about 380 deg??? The range of movement feels natural enough once it is unlocked. @ Wrench, I really haven't come across that many planes that looked that bad when you look around beyond the stock limits..... The biggest exception being the TW F-14..... TK ran out time ( or money ) at about 90deg of viewing with that plane.... Most other planes look pretty low res back there but your usually just glancing back there anyways...... If you are using trackir you almost have to make the veiw adjustment or it just feels wrong for your FOV to stop so abruptly at 90degs
  16. Have a look through this thread http://combatace.com/topic/80407-labels-only/

  18. Happy Thanksgiving.............

Thought some might enjoy a little turkey story http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krxtt6jXE0w
  19. Did you confirm that all the axis for the controller are correctly assigned within the games options/controls menu? Sometimes it's the simplest oversights...?
  20. Has anyone ever tried using this little utility for Strike Fighters? I have used with my FS9 install and in an older driving game install (GTR2), and it worked quite well on both games......So I am wondering about applying it to SF and thought maybe I should ask if anyone knows about it before I run it on the game. Here is a link http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php apparently many older games are limited to 2GB of ram on newer 64bit window operating systems and this patch allows windows to use 4GB's for the application. Any insight would be great. Cheers Romflyer
  21. I'm an x52 user as well, at the bottom of this thread http://combatace.com/topic/80040-my-saitek-x52-just-arived/ is a pretty good description of my layout.....maybe it can help you with some ideas
  22. New Saitek X55 Hotas

Looks like Saitek is gonna release a new Hotas and does it ever look HOT http://imgur.com/a/9cIVL Seems they took everything that was cool about the X-65 and removed the obvious elephant in the room. I want one!!
  23. So........Is SF2 a 32x or 64x process?.......and how do we confirm wether or not it is LARGEAWAREADDRESS?
  24. That was essentially what I was asking in my original post......does anyone know if there is anything to be gained by applying this patch to SF. It would make sense that TK would have made the game "Large Address Aware" when he went to SF2, I just wasn't sure so I figured I'd ask, but it sounds like it has already been dealt with and the 4gig patch wont help to speed up my game
