I don't think SF is gonna support a rotary switch the way you are hoping for, in SF you don't select a radar mode with a specific button ...... You cycle through various modes using one specific button ( page up ) and (page down) to cycle range
I use two buttons on my MFD to cycle forwards or backwards through range and two others to cycle modes.

That is a big a$$ fish!!!
As for the ocean colour, I have not yet picked up SF NA , but judging by the sky reflections on the water in the many screen shots, I bet the water colour will look much less.....saturated with an overcast sky...... Just like it does in real life

Well if I was starting from scratch with controllers I think the g940 would right up at the top of my list too.
As for the rig, I'm not sure exactly how good of a deal that is..... But that will definately be a nice machine

I am currently building some custom panels for a cockpit I have started and can't wait to get it programmed, anyone with advice or have done anything like that out there? I have a plan already but its always nice to see others and generate
Welcome aboard Intruder7011
I am curious to hear a little bit about what you are making ......I too am a bit addicted to trying to make my sim environment more.......emmersive

Or Adjust the middle number of the seat Position=0.0,5.5,0.658 to about 2.8 and see if you like that.
Well I guess I jumped the gun on my answer without fully reading the question ....... Dave's answers your question.........but try mine too, it's a good one.

What's the best way of changing the FOV?
In the main directory of any plane you will find X-XX_Cockpit.ini open it up and look for this section
[CockpitSeat001]
ModelName=Cock_F14a
Position=0.0,5.5,0.658
ViewAngles=0.0,-2.0,0.0
MaxYaw=152 <-------------------- change these to about 180
MinYaw=-152 <--------------------
MaxPitch=90
MinPitchFront=-47 <------------- You can play with these too
MinPitchRear=-35 <------------
LightRange=1.5
LightInnerConeAngle=50
LightOuterConeAngle=60
LightAngles=0.0,-30.0,0.0
DiffuseLightFactor=0.5
NightLightOn=0.25
NightLightColor=0.6,0.3,0.4
Gunsight=GunsightFront

Hey guys thanks for the replies, I did find the pit pix in the screenshot section........NICE WORK Brain32 !! I love those reflections on the MFD's, are those reflections static? it reminds me of some old Bill Lyons planes for FS9, he had a series of planes that had similar looking reflections on the gauges and it was a very nice touch.
I spend probably 80% of my SF flying time the F-18 so I am really looking forward to this new version.
So whats left to do in the project? those pictures have me thinking that it wont be much longer.......would you guys say its likely to be more than 2 weeks........or less than 2 weeks?
if you need Beta testers.......?

I seem to recall you saying that you have trackir??.. If so then just sit in a comfortable position then press the center veiw button for your trackir, if that feels to close then just lean forward slightly and hit the button again, when you lean back to your comfortable spot then you will be zoomed out..... Once you get it right then you are ready to throttle up
Unless I am misunderstanding your question???

I'm pretty jazzed cause my date (March 17th) is basically in............2 weeks
Turkey and green beer I cant wait
-
I'm pretty sure the short version will be:
"Two weeks!"
Yep......I specifacally avoiding mentioning anything about when.

I keep reading little remarks here and there in various different threads about there being a new FA-18 model in the works......Just wondering if we could get a little bit more information on it.....like who's making it? how far along is it? and would it be possible to get a few pictures of the progress.....especially some cockpit shots.
Cheers

Wow those pit pictures are looking great
One thing that comes to mind when I see that right MFD showing weapons and system info is that it would be very cool if when you switched hud modes to nav mode then that right MFD would switch to the moving map HSI, and then when you cycle weapons the MFD would bring up the weapons info page .....just a thought

Coupi has position for Pasko's Mig-15 version, I highlighted the coordinates:
Stary,
Which INI file is that from?...........I think it's in the Mig-15_cockpit.ini
[CockpitSeat001]
ModelName=Mig15_pit
OpenCockpit=FALSE
//TRUE
Offset=0.0,-0.1,0.0
Position=0.0,1.40,0.82 -------Is this it?
//0.0,1.37,1.3
//-0.32,1.37,1.3
ViewAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0
MaxYaw=180
MinYaw=-180
MaxPitch=90
MinPitchFront=-45
MinPitchRear=0
LightRange=2.0
LightInnerConeAngle=50
LightOuterConeAngle=80
LightAngles=0.0,-35.0,0.0
DiffuseLightFactor=0.5
NightLightOn=0.25
NightLightColor=0.7,0.2,0.2
Gunsight=GunsightFront
I am really looking forward to trying this cockpit out......I have been looking at your Signiture picture for the last week or so wondering what the heck it was from .....and how great it looks!

Shoot is the only one I know of.........and I can't fly without it

Back when I was younger I tried SimHQ..........but I didnt inhale.................
-
I know what's going to happen but I will say that CombatAce does not determine SimHQ policy, nor does SimHQ dictate CombatAce policy. Pfunk is free to make his own decisions (whether we like it or not) and that's final. If you want the terrain, go through the effort to get it, but again, the admins nor moderators here decide what Pfunk does.
Understood Eric
My remarks were just intended as a request to Pfunk.......with a small undertone of annoyance
100 posts would take years.......there's just not that much going on over there
-
SimHQ and you have to have over 100 posts to download it.
That is ridiculous!
Hey Pfunk.....we have all been looking forward to your upcoming release of WOEMAC. Everybody knows that this is the place to come and get mods for SF, and everybody knows that this is the place for true fans of SF.....don't get me wrong, there are things at SimHQ that I enjoy visiting for, but .....100 posts!!!
Please release it here......where all good mods for the game belong.
Cheers

There's one already out there: http://combatace.com...fg1wmspeechrar/
I've gotta say that I have been using this speech pack for months now and it is REALLY GOOD it's a huge improvement.........I think it has slipped under the radar for most guys because it was only released for SF1, but it works exactly the same for SF2
It replaces all the wingman, flight1, and flight2 radio calls.....no more Slim Pickins
If someone could redo the Departure and Approach controllers then our radio problems would be a thing of the past
-
I'm not sure what you mean about lag on afterburn? but for single mission carriers I would suggest you get the mission editor which is available as a DLC at TW......then load up a single mission (land based) open the mission editor and add a carrier somewhere on the map, then pick your homebase for the plane as G001 which should be the carrier you just added, your plane will be placed on the carrier and you are ready to go fly........ navy style.

Operation Great White North
Operation Great White North
On Sept 7 1995 the province of Quebec held a referendum to split away from the rest of Canada, in reality the final results were 50.5% to stay in Canada, and 49.5% to seperate....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_referendum,_1995
In this "what-if" scenario the results are reversed and Quebec has decided to seperate, some of the western provinces start the process to follow Quebec’s lead to form a Western Alliance of their own and the Canadian government is brought to it's knees.....there is a complete failure of Parliament and Canada is crumbling.
Meanwhile the Global Sedition forces see the opportunity to grab a foothold in Northwestern region in hopes to claim dominance of the Arctic region cutting off Alaska and opening up many doors for an all out move into North America.....
In an effort to stop the invasion the Canadian forces have combined with American, and British forces to try and stop this evil crusade

Hey dtmdragon that sounds awesome......I mean what Eric said........ A more historically correct version of the CF-18 would be really cool and it would be great if you allready have that package together to release it. To be honest, the only reason I put this plane together was because I needed it for a campaign that I am working on that really required a CF-18......and I was thinking about uploading the campaign to share, but there needed to be an available Canadian bug so I put this out there in advance of the campaign.
