  6. I'm gonna take you up on your offer to help with FMs or skins! If you like, you can DL Wrench's old Hawk3 from the SF1 section and familiarize yourself with it. I'll start mapping my new one, and eventually get it to you. Once we get our process shaken down and working, we can do some Japanese stuff.
  7. The new tga files - Stromy, Stromy2, Stromy3, and TEROBJECT_TREE S1 - overfile the equivalents in the WW1 Italy terrain folder. They can also drop into other terrain maps that use Jan Tuma's tree files.
  8. View File Improved Gameworld Appearance I occasionally tinker with lighting and textures to make the TW gameworld look more realistic. This small pack was developed to improve Gterl's WW1 Italy game map, but should also work with most any other SF or FE game map. Most of the changes are located in the FLIGHT folder, whose contents are largely the work of Quack74. All I did was alter the light levels to better simulate "high noon" - the standard game settings are too dark and murky for bright sunshine. I also lightened and dulled Jan Tuma's tree art so forests don't look like dark green blobs. The new art files Stromy, Stromy2, Stromy3, and TEROBJECT_TREE S1 replace the equivalents in the WW1 Italy folder. Finally, the increased light levels can make some aircraft appear too shiny. A sample texture set ini file is included with reduced glossyness settings - see first shot of Sea Gladiator (facing away from camera). 0.000 equals no gloss whatsoever. Specular=0.200 Glossiness=0.200 Reflection=0.100 Submitter Geezer Submitted 12/05/2015 Category First Eagles - Golden Era - Terrain and Environmental Mods
  9. Thanks. Back in 2000, I started modding by making skins, but grew dissatisfied because the mapping of many 3D models made it well-nigh impossible to skin them properly. This is not meant to slam 3D modelers. They don't always know what is required because they think in terms of 3D shapes, not the finished result. So, I spent many years teaching myself to make 3D models....

  18. The answer is ..... slowly. I am getting some outstanding help from several guys, but the models and skins are only about 40% of the work required to produce a releasable aircraft. I am committed to producing a batch of 1940 aircraft suitable for the Battle of Britain and North Africa, so I don't work on 1937 China War stuff very often. Shot below of some progress on Chinese Shrike skins, plus completed models of two Chinese Hawks.
  19. LloydNB just sent me some WIP skins for the Sea Gladiator and they are outstanding!
