  6. GUNSHIP! in 2010

this game has been overlooked back then. for me, it had potential. Graphics were great and could run smoothly on any pc (small maps i guess). It was surely fun. i liked also the variety of chopers available. criticism often was about its controls layout. It is still installed in my idle now XP setup. Anytime i wanted to take a taste of virtual apache. Hope ED wont take long before they launch a DCS apache .... this game has been overlooked back then. for me, it had potential. (the clouds are just a sky bitmap wraping the virtual space dom. Like Polak's horizon sky mod for SF1 if you used that)
  7. seeing them too, thought was some artifact from my card. Maybe its just hdr distant object reflection LOL :D :P
  8. Nah just messing with you :P I discovered WOP a while ago and cant help drooling over the environment, terrain, objects ........ looks just gorgeous. Cant also help it fantasizing having it in SF :P
  9. Hi Brain :) I have installed Starys heavy loaded pack and surelly has LOT of work in it and its good work too But, something about your satelite tiles makes the scene feel more realistic .... To my eye at least. Maybe their photographic feel. Despite that they have been maybe easier to make than Starys that seem to incorporate lot of manual editing on each tile. I am suspecting its something about their color hue, so i am experimenting with a hybrid now based on both tilesets :D :P i am curious if that was the case :D
  10. post here your other topic link so we can check your screenshots easily :)
  11. can this work with SF2 ?? particulary interested in water shimmering .... nah ... tested it and messes terrain up and does nothing to water shimer with my Radeon 5850
  12. Yes thats very impressive, the no fps penalty from highly detailed graphics and especially highly populated world. Although i didnt notice ground movements. I expect such efficiency from an up to date GPU but the CPU, the usual weak link in such cases didnt sweat at all ... i have to check how the cores are used ... must be very effective coding? and again, from all indications, it appears its a dx9 title ... the demo didnt give me difficulty mode options (or i didnt find them?) In realistic mode and simulation mode ,supposed to be decent ... other details i liked are the random atmospheric occurances of water amd the engine oil from your kill showering your canopy if TK indeed is working on new terrains thats another great addition to the TW expectations list :)
  13. ran the demo. the graphics are a dream. Although HDR is too excessive and motion blur annoying. The water is the best i have seen in a simulator so far. great work with the terrain. heavily poppulated and convincing. very nice very nice (did i mention very nice?) Awesome work with light .... light helps a great deal in a realistic look and feel of everything else in the scene. funny thing, run without installation.. And the speed with all settings cranked up, colossal. crazy framerates .... and i think, i am not sure, that is DX9 .... might be mistaken on that though ... man i want this graphics engine and its world :D :D
  14. How did YOU end up here at combatace?

i once was a treehouse, i lived in a cake, never saw the way the orange slayed the rake
  15. I can't get the sea and i think some other areas, in a distance, to be shimmerless. ATI 5850. Any clues maybe?
  16. I am clarity freak, first thing i do always max out Anisotropy :D . Is at 16x here from my experiments so far it seems that the most effective thing against shimmering is replacing some textures with lower resolution versions. That seems to affect it more than any setting or combination of settings in the Catalyst Control Panel without still totally eliminating shimmering ... Talking about Catalyst settings the things that seem to improve a tad things are - AA filtering to at least Adaptive Multisample (slider in the middle) - disabling AI m a y b e has a slight improvement but not maybe worth it. Maybe the performance gain of "Standard" is more worth it. - AA to 4X (box) comparing to 2x (no matter the AA settings above that, the AA image quality doesn't seem to be changing in SF2) Also reducing horizon distance seem to also help a little. But doesnt affect the shimmering of decals. i will test out of curiosity if they improve with lower resolution files.
  17. Anyone maybe saw any A-10 engine sounds addon ? Once again i manage probably to lose my way in here :P Cant seem to find any. You know the distinctive sound those TF turbofans make like airliners :) (the stock A-10 sounds i think dont sound like that)
  18. This finding should be included here and should be marked as an objectively must Europe Add-on. A-10 engine sound + ini tweaks that so far its known only that adds LGB and LGR and Engines view from teh cockpit
  19. Better widesky

I think CloudScape also works in SF2
  20. Better widesky

This works for SF2 . I found various stuff in the SF1 section that also apply to SF2. I think new sections like environment mods should open under SF2 and start include (maybe by aliasing?) those mods that work in SF2
  21. man i been looking for this wav file TK should include it in his stock A-10 ... (and enhance the avenger smoke effect )
  22. Who made the 3D model of the pit ?
