HR SF2E GermanyCE terrain update part 1 of 2
squid replied to Stary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
just some feedback. my pc specs, i7 860 (turbo clocks up to 3300 when running SF), 6 Gb 1600 ddr3 ram, Radeon 5850 1Gb. 1680x1050 22" monitor. Win7 x64. I get stutters if i use this mod with unlimited ground objects ... reducing ground objects to high, keeping everything else unlimited reduces stutters significantly ... It seems its again CPU limited ... Pitty that SF still runs on a single thread alone ... 7 more are being lazy waiting for something to do ... -

after the sound success thinking, enhanced gun smoke and fire for SF2 would be a nice finding too -

still cant locate viewmod :( ... any clues maybe? -
I recall was hanging out at McFly's all the time, busy with Janes USAF, and trying to learn to model planes in Max, and was doing skins back then *sigh* Then gradually moved to SF and Biohaz from McFly's suggestions and links as J.USAF couldnt go any further (comparing to SF & LockOn (♥) and McFly's gave up the sport as well.

ofcourse the girls of CA cant probably be trivial. otherwise they wouldnt end up here would they. LOL
-
a biohaz member too. mad jeff one of the cool blokes :) man how years fly away.... i think i was originally here because of Janes USAF, after McFly's gave up ... and then LockOn too (♥) With the opportunity to thank you guys for the efforts and nice work here :) ex biohaz here too

Feb 2010 patch bug?
squid replied to ziker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
it is confirmed. behaves like broken. only Shift-R seems to work sometimes and with only one target. wont move to other target. no friendly ground targets either. -

Feb 2010 patch bug?
squid replied to ziker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
have we tried maybe "easy" visual targeting in game options? I have always had issues with those Y,T,E,R visual targeting keys, never really made a complete picture of when they exactly work. I went a while ago from SF1 straight to SF2 Febr. and i thought ALL of them visual targeting keys are almost not working :P -

thats where i learned about it at first place and i was in shock and it depressed me ... aside from us purely appreciating the contribution of one of those creative and passionate people out there and their giving and enthusiastic spirit to our favorite past time activity (and part of our identity, interests, dreams) it is sure that ofcourse he meant a heck lot more in all essential ways to some people .... A guy close to my age, of my generation, that i have been seeing his name for ages around here, one of those i never had the chance to communicate personally with or know more about ... as fun as the hobby and interests are and half of it consisting of internet activity i cant help it not think about how impersonal this often feels or actually is (unavoidable due to its nature and our "modern" lives paces) take absolutely nothing for granted my friends... Live every moment of your life. Don't let negativities absorb your focus. notice and appreciate purity and let it guide you to be your very own self with no blockages. Think more of what unities you than what divides you. Admire and be attracted to Essense. I like to think he is in a Great happy place -
Installing mods in Version 2 of series
squid replied to Coot's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
out of curiosity i tried in SF2 febr. your HDR with the force dx9, antialiasing 1, etc options.ini settings (usafmtl posted the lines somewhere in here) and it would crash everytime upon loading the flight. The text was there on the main screen , left upper corner. ATI radeon 5850. btw, i would expect HDR to give an effect similar to lets say HDR in Farcry / Crysis, you know when facing a light source how kind of soft-blurring-whiting-out things get. What does it actually do in SF? either TK shaders or your DX9 mod :) -

Thanks guys -
This mod apart from being a definite SF necessity has also another priceless extra :) :) F5 ("chase") camera the way i have been wanting it from day one of SF :) The viewlist.ini in the pack alters the cameras, and although i prefer the stock flyby camera and the stock F6 camera the F5 works exactly as it should had from the very begining :) Its stuck to the plane and rolls with it. Great for SF movies :) gives a "Fighter Pilot" movie feel, especially if you modify the position of the camera near some LANTIRN pylon :P lol .Or even the early Topgun footage from the tail of Phantoms and Skyhawks ....

Fresh to windows vista/7 and to SF2 , coming from XP and SF1 ..... 1. Why theres no "Vietnam" folder in my Thirdwire "saved games" folder? ... ( i have Vietnam installed ) 2. I would like to use in SF2 some of the mods i have been using in SF1. I'd like to start by trying the following first: a. Cellinsky Widesky b. Polak sky mod c. Brain32 terrains d. CA Stary environment enhancements (forests etc) e. Kout GUIs can they work in SF2? 3. if yes, any reference to information on what possible modifications are meeded to make them work in SF2 is appreciated :):) -
SF2 newbie, add-ons & mods questions
squid replied to squid's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
finding #1 so far, widesky SF2 modification. Works with SF2 (Feb.10) http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=9385 http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=8897&showcomments=970&st=0#comment970 It also includes a vewlist.ini with camera modifications, which makes for a much better than stock chase (F5) camera .... Also CloudScape : http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=9829 -
To celebrate the release of SF2...

has this being released for SF2 yet ? :) -
Hearing from a friend that simulators (FSX, BS, F4, Lockon) run like at least about 10 fps minimum faster in his win7 setup compared to XP i thought to check out how it is for the other users out there. Thanks.

Are there maytbe any fully functional universal MFD solutions for PC flights simulators ? universal meaning able to work with any flight simulator (for example if there isnt any MFD in the plane, to set them up to show gauges?) fully functional meaning incorporating both a projecting screen (saitek gauges) and functional frame (thrustmaster MFDs) Are there maybe touchscreen solutions software/hardware wise for clickable cockpits to simulate MFDs?

Selling my current rig and building a new one. which card is a better choice relatively for flight simulators? XP, Thirdwire series, Lock0n, FS-X, IL-2 series ... Is the Phys-X really used by sim or action games nowdays or in near future? is it worth enough to choos the nvidia card? Are there any issues with Ati or nvidia drivers and the above sims?

interesting development ...
