  3. really ? license of BS1 can't be used to install BS World version without actually buying the World version ? Btw, while the offer last, why was it € 20 and not lets say €16 or €12 (=$16) ?
  4. plenty of great WWII add-on planes in CA .... What is ETO / MTO
  5. Good call. i watched so many times the great planes videos i think i know them by heart now. Still they are of the best relaxations, never get tired watching them.
  6. the porn keeps coming .... absolutely great work, Σοφοκλή μπρabο πaλικaρε, aπιθaνο :D
  7. i hope this delay and beta release movement means that they are taking FC more seriously than they maybe planned . The lack of an updated 3d model for the flankers is very obvious i think in FC3. FC2 actually has been pretty pretty cool for me if loaded with some third party mods like the awesome 3d models collection & pits found in lockonfiles. My only annoyance was the clouds shadow / horizon banding bug . (You won't hear me i think ever refer to flight or combat aspects in simulators, i am very easily pleased in that field, hence my knowledge also and requirements there are minimal, my interest always is being more attracted to the senses representation of things :P )
  8. Announcing DCS: UH-1H Huey

+1 Me too i think the most "overlooked" (by ED) product in the ED roadmap and the one they are trying to leave behind, LockOn, is maybe and will be their most profitable (With A-10C second). The best chances marketing-wise i guess it would had been to replace LockOn or evolve it to DCS World / EDGE still offering the jets LockOn does, in whatever realism level (and keep updating each one together with new additions) , and keep working in that direction. No one would had missed P-51 or Huey ( except maybe some backstage rich funder pulling some strings in ED for personal quirks? TFC? ). A wild proposal for the popular DCS guessings game: DCS: Transformers : Huey as disguised A(utobot)H-64 (after release of Decepticon CH-53)
  9. The download link needs updating to http://combatace.com/files/file/7318-greece-terrain-v11-september-20th-2008/
  10. Couldn't be more excited with the news here. Thank you both in advance !
  11. Site Upgrades

    Good job as always
  12. Gerwin's Iceland 1024 tileset

totally prefered over the stock NA terrain .... great job guys !! add maybe one shot more showing your water waternormal results :)
  13. 10 Years with Combat Ace

talking about lump in throat. (although i have been something more of a quirky and ghost member and simmer all these years, realizing the size of the time passed, all the nostalgia, and see the nice people still being more or less around here, - eg hearing from MJ -, what to say. Just would had been nice to have met many of you in person)
  14. with this, i wont have to wait for one from TK after Mirage F1 :D
  15. Is it possible to have the clouds cast shadows on the ground ? And how do we control the altitude the clouds are placed in (auto) single missions ?
  16. Flight Unlimited is EXACTLY what comes to my mind too :D 100% the same concept adapted to 10 years later developments LOL as in ... hmm angry fighters ?
  17. Notice the nice work with light. The way shadow behaves and looks. i havent seen that even in DCS, I think i have seen that only in Cliffs of Dover, IF i did indeed. Stary's quality textures and flora combined with NA topo-meshes and currently available choices of clouds and skies, would work just fine for me. Even just the new NA waternormal instead of the new full 3D water, i would compromise even with that (although reluctantly) . I would only want to have the option to add hdr + bloom (and some basic scaling option with those like 1-3. Blooming the shadows would enhance i think the photo-real aspect. Global Illumination-like ?) Some damn cirrus wouldnt be hard for TW to add too. Oh hell why do i still bother ......... It seems, that the future in sims and growing trend is the accurate reproduction of geographic areas rather than simulated representation of an area with generic tiles (while though TK as reported is relaxing in future his focus on sims) your meshes elevation (if i am not off with terminology) works nice in your Israel
  18. i wondered about that many times (takes i guess a render PhD :P) like, one step ahead , one backwards ? ... (yeap )
  19. ( i have to note besides the very photo-realistic feel of light and environment, it also offers proper sense of speed, mach on low level it looks and feels indeed as .... low level mach )
  20. Just wanted to tease us a little (couldnt wait till april 1st 2013 ) , i certainly hope i won't piss off someone again !! ( is it only me that i pay attention to the second titles of posts ? ) on the topic now, from what i see and with my very limited knowledge, it looks like what we see here is possible with the current TW engine. This is a highly detailed mesh with high resolution (satelite ?) textures confined though only in the region of switzerland and the size of the setup files is 24 Gbs ......... The only thing missing maybe from TW engine is cirrus level clouds ? Also i think that the ground meshes cast shadows but i am not sure about that. i think theres no option for time of day so to be able to check the direction of the shadows which then probably are just part of the (satelite?) textures
