you should extract that ini file, so its content reflects objects availibility for the chosen map (this instead of creating that ini file) -

sony tuckson replied to PeacePuma's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Mr PeacePuma... Don't start use Mr with my name that way, I don't like it As said, TMF didn't agree to the Freeware Licencing stuff.....and have no plan to do so, like it or not, I don't mind the least. I normally always agree for such request, (I used to do so with Oliver, now I'm the only one deciding), so you shoudln't fear a refusal Every single file of the TMF that is re used in a new project needs my approval if you want to stay "clean"...I see this as a mark of respect. And next time I see a mod using Oliver's work and not having be requested, I'll ask its removal. We have provided the community with quite a few mods, all freware, so pleas erespect our only wish out of this. Hope it's clear now -

for info, the game itself handles that ini file editing as long as the textureset.ini is there -
New F15 Cockpit Problem
sony tuckson replied to galoub's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
It's normal you have it "fixed" with that patch, as it didn't include advanced effects as the latest patch did...and the issue is a combination of things brought alongside new advanced effects -
Netherlands Terrain?
sony tuckson replied to mppd's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
only a small percentage of surface is below the sea level, and I think all airbases are above MSL -

Do you mean you had issues with how water was displayed, and you have a fix for it? Let us see the effect as you seem to like it so much and then, let us know how you get there btw, GermanyCE and IsraelME are stock terrain made by TK.... -
New commer with some questions
sony tuckson replied to UnknownPilot's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
no, this thing isn't available in SF series I probably could be done by modding the TGA used for canopies, but that wouldn't be an easy task I'm afraid, and I'm not even sure how this file is used by the game engine, probably not like any other skin part, so expect this just not to work at all.... -
Terrain problems in SF2
sony tuckson replied to toonces's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
the edges of clouds looks like an effect the video card doesn't support try setting the game so it doesn't use (or try to) advanced shadders -

sony tuckson replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
you probably only need to rename the bmp to F-4B_67 something, instead of only F-4B something eg F-4B_1.BMP would now be F-4B_67_1.BMP -
Afterburner effect disappeared after installing December 2009 Updates!
sony tuckson replied to AGOSTINO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
now, that's not a fair comment the changes don't break the mods The changes birng support to new technologies and improve the games yes, right after patching, some mods don't work anymore but there is most often than not a way to fix it....so it 's even better afterwards! -
The problem of using false weapons in conjunction with the installation game series SF2
sony tuckson replied to Epizikl's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
well, as I said, I added weapons in the series 2 without using no weapons editor at all... -
The problem of using false weapons in conjunction with the installation game series SF2
sony tuckson replied to Epizikl's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Not sure I understand what you mean but one thing for sure, thee is no need to use the weapons editor at all addon weapons just need to be stored in their own single folder, with all the relevant files (bmp, lod, ini's...) -
Strike fighters2 Israel.
sony tuckson replied to liamp51's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
most probably the bmp name needs to be adapted with the many subversions, the planes use different bmp according to subvariant, a requirement in some cases the game has a bug if different models (in this case subvariants) use the same bmp names... this lead to some renaming in skins... if the mod you want to use is based on stock LOD, you'll need to extract the original plane to see how the bmp's are named -
well, not knowing the hardware specs, I couldn't offer advice but if hardware is recent enough, windows 7 would be nicer than XP and you would enjoy SF2 series to its fullest

MF vipers and the C series are independant mods....done by different people one thing you could do is replace the C vipers cockpit with the MF one, although is a A viper dashboard... -

installing l folders in to windows 7
sony tuckson replied to manlyman564's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Big difference with Vista and 7 is the mod folder is separated from the main folder big advantage, you may decide where the mods will go by editing the options.ini file if you don't chnage anything, mods will go in c:\user\your name\thirdwire\strike fighters.....
