So it turns out my F-14D came with an alternate cockpit. I tried it. These are my results. So now I have a working reticule, but its seems really anachronistic and its hard to see. Also, it doesn't change with the weapons. Its the same gun sight no matter what I am using. -

This is on an F-14D. Could that be part of the problem? -
Lifting body fighter

Lifting bodies aren't very stable, so I doubt they would make good fighters. Also the x-24 was rocket powered so its radius was limited to something like 50 miles. You would have to make major modifications to make it practical. And I don't mean strapping sidewinders on it :P -

Not that I know of. Nothing F-14 specific at least. What I would like to know is why the HUD hasn't changed. I completely replaced the cockpit files and the hud was in there. But it is still different. -

I overwrote the cockpit folder with the new one and it was already set to avionics70.dll. -

That is the update that I used to begin with. I still have the problem after applying it. Could it be that the hub lacks the .tga for reticules? I'm assuming they are just .tga's that are moved about the screen. -

That looks extremely useful. I would just like to know how to use it. If used right I'm assuming it would make things like MiG-23's locking on to a F-22 with radar a little harder, and F-14's tracking targets BVR much easier. -

I increased some of the detect values on my F-14 and I was able to shoot down a MiG-31 at 40nm. -

I have the same issue. The radar wont target aircraft that are further than 8nm. Its kinda funny. My asraam is effective before my amraam because of this. -

So if they were advanced trainers then what is their reason for existence? The T-38 came first. It seems a little redundant to me. -

It seems I stand corrected. I just didn't know much about the F-5. So why does such a small aircraft have a two seat combat variant? Do they really need a weapons officer? -

At first I thought it wasn't a issue with the avionics.dll. So I found a replacement dll in the downloads section. It didn't fix anything, but then again it didn't make things worse either. This is the only bird that does it, although I have some other issues, like some of my fishbed's not applying their skins, and add on maps not working right etc. I guess I will just wait this one out. Other than the hud they are pretty good though. I just took on a flight of foxbats and fulcrums and owned them. -

I just installed the MB-339 into WOV. The plane works great but I cant get the gunpod and the fuel tanks to work. I follow the directions and added the lines to my weapon data file but they don't show up. What am I doing wrong? Couldn't quite get to 30k meters. Does anyone else notice the overwhelming force to put the nose down? Even at high speeds. I pulled all the way back on the stick and the nose still dropped. -

It flickers. Very distracting and detracts a lot form what is otherwise a pretty beautiful game. Also when I was doing some strike missions I noticed a similar effect happening on some buildings. I added the Green hell and the Vietnam SEA repaint, and I had hoped it would fix the problem. I am running an ATI HD4850. Frame rates are great maxed out. But I would expect so. it's one of the faster cards on the market. -

ok so in an effort to give this plane guns of some kind I am trying to get it to use the SU-23 gunpod. Can anyone tell me what weapon class a gunpod is so I can let the pylons hold it? -

Looks like it makes heavy use of 1st generation stealth like in the F-117. Look at all the sawtooth lines on it. That can't be a new Design.
