  4. I installed the classified mod in an effort to understand which files should be edited to make other callsigns appear. There is a file called Callsignus.ini which includes the callsigns. I edited it and now I can choose the callsign I like in single missions but I think this file is not included in the stock game.
  5. Actually there is a SpeechText.srt located in Speech.cat which includes the callsigns which appear in the subtitles and not on the info box on the down-left. I can replace the callsign only in instant action by editing the InstantAction.ini but I don't know hot to do it in single missions.
  6. Well, I can edit later the sound files but for now I need to know how to replace the callsigns. Can you explain in which way is possible?
  7. R-3S (AA-2A Atoll) is one of the very first short range IR missiles. It was the soviet equivalent to the AIM-9B. Both missiles had serious militations regarding launch range, manoeuvrability, tracking etc but their performance was actually good compared to the standards of their time. As far as I know Arabs used them with milited success against IAF during 1967-73. However keep in mind that Israelis knew many things about Mig-21F performance before six-day war. In SF2 R-3S have good results if fired in short ranges against F-100s, F-104s, F-105s. In longer ranges it is not sure that it will destroy the target. It may cause some damage. Mirage III is much more maneuverable and can evade R-3S easier.
  8. In my opinion it depends on your position as related with cruise missile's direction but in every case you should react fast! If the missile moves in your front, you should know that in some seconds it will have come close to you. So you must lock and fire the AIM-54 as soon as possible. Difficult but still possible. If you fail in the frontal interception the missile will fly above you in 22 Km heigth and then you will be forced to intercept it from the rear. Keep in mind that Kh-22 and KSR-5 fly with an average speed of 3.5 - 4 Mach. In high altitude AIM-54 can reach about 5 Mach and this is the advantage. If you fire it in short range it can destroy the cruise missiles but if fired in longer ranges it is impossible.
  9. You should extract the IsraelME.ini from game's installation files (C --> Program Files --> Thirdwire --> Strike Fighters 2 --> Terrains). Extract it with the extractor utility which is available in thirdwire's site. Drop the ini file in your mods IsraelME folder (Saved Games --> Thirdwire --> StrikeFighters2 Israel --> Terrains --> IsraelME). Open the ini file and scroll down to the allowed years. Edit them as you like. You can edit start/end years for GermanyCE and Desert by editing the options.ini but this will not help you for IsraelME, VietnamSEA or IcelandNA. The reason for this is that Germany and Desert don't include start/end years in their terrain_name.ini so they can be edited from the single mission lines.

  11. Forgot to mention that this pack will be released for SF2. Ask the modder it there would be SF1 version.
  12. A Mirage F.1C/E pack is already in progress. Subvariants included.
  13. Area 88 campaign is a great project. The Area 88 skin pack has been already released here. At the same link you can find the download links for the aircrafts. As for the terrain, I think a simple desert terrain with some editing would be enough since the Kingdom of Aslan mostly consists of desert.

  18. While editing air to air missiles in order to make them behave as realistic as possible, I realized that the supersonic drag is very essential. I have read that Super 530D has 20-25 Km range in low altitude and a maximum range of 40 Km in high altitude with a top speed of 4.5 Mach. The factor that shows the missile's performance in a specific altitude is IAS/TAS ratio. This ratio is very close to 1 in low altitude and gradually decreases in higher altitudes. My problem is that I can not find the suitable supersonic drag number that should make missile's performance more realistic. For example, in the Super 530D after some editing I have this: IAS/TAS ratio 0.86 (10,000 feet) gives 30 Km range but when the ratio is set to 0.61 (30,000 feet) it gives 75 Km range. This is about 30 Km longer than the real maximum range. Maybe this is normal for the missile range simulator but it's not normal when talking about a realistic missile performance. Maybe I have made a mistake during the editing. Any ideas on how to solve it? Thanks.
  19. This will be a super pack! Good luck with your project Ludo! If you need help with the greek Mirages drop me a PM.
  20. Mirage F.1C was exported as F.1CG in Greece, as F.1CE in Spain, as F.1CZ in South Africa etc. Same with the Mirage F.1E subvariants. When you say all of their variantions, you mean flight models for every single air force user?
  21. Great job guys! Hellenic skins are just awesome!
  22. The greek anniversary skins are awesome! I hope the aegean blue skin to be as realistic as these!
