  1. I would like to know if the Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar has any compatibility problems with CH Pro pedals, has anyone got this set,if so how is it please.Any help or advice would be extremly helpful to this newbie, choosing his kit.Thanks.
  2. Scratch the last reply, the two work together just fine,I now know this after taking the chance, all is well with compatability.
  3. Why can't FE see my CH Hotas?

Hi I have been here myself,ok,what you need to do is save the mapfile in your CH control manager you might have done this allready, next download you're map from the CH control manager, and finally make sure you're in 'Mapped Mode',this is the most important part. You can check when you go into you're CH control manager, there are three modes, right of centre along the tool bar and they are Off Mode,Direct Mode and Mapped Mode.In fact where I was going wrong was when I shut down my pc in the evening I did'nt realise that you go back to direct mode, and when you switch on you're pc,you will still be in direct mode, you have to physically switch to mapped mode everytime you're pc has been off.Just go into you're CH control manager and press the Mapped Mode icon, then exit. This had me foxed for hours. Once you're in mapped mode you're FE will recognize you're last control options you chose.Happy flying.
  4. Yep,me too,I agree to what has been said, this really does make the sim a lot more realistic, the guns now sound like WW1 guns!!!...great work Nixarass, thank you.
  5. I have just recently purchased a set of Pro Pedals from CH and whilst rudder control is perfect I can't seem to config them for the 'Wheelbrakes'.Basically I have gone into the SF1 'Control' section have made sure they config to the 'Rudder'controls and have then gone into the 'Customise' section to config the 'Wheelbrakes' to them but this asks to press a button when you have decided what part of the controller you want to assign for that duty.Unfortunatley there are no buttons on the Pro Pedals, you can only use the axis to have rudder control or another downward axis which would be the brakes, but it won't recognize it,has anyone been able to get round this, any help would really be appreciated.Of course it could be down to user error, but I'm sure I'm doing everything as I have with all my other CH kit.Any clues??
  6. CH Pro Pedals config for wheelbrakes in SF1

Hi,Ghost thanks very much and yes that did help a whole lot.I appreciate your help, thank you for taking the trouble to reply.
  7. I've had the Saitek X52 but had to change to CH as I did'nt get on with the twisting joystick and the software and support leaved a lot to be desired.I found CH on the other hand to be well built, accurate, easy to programme and the support given over at the CH Hangar just superb.I recently bought a pair of CH Pro pedals and have found them to be just perfect for me.I had owned a set of Saitek pedals but my personal set creaked every time I used them, the CH are silent.Spares are also readily available.............and I don't work for them, lol.
  8. First joystick - What to buy?

Well my advice would be buy the best you can afford, you get what you pay for here with joysticks and you don't want to be upgrading within months of buying a cheaper one, thats when it gets expensive.Saitek are nice,CH products are a well known and trusted buy and the Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar is superb. It really boils down to how much you play,do you see yourself still interested with this in months to come.I don't have any Saitek kit so I can't comment, but both CH Products and the Cougar offer excellent support should you need it,this is especially helpfull when setting up.This kit isn't cheap, but it will last, both offer spare parts should you require them too.
  9. Has anyone skinned a green fuel tank to go with the camo stock F-105D?........just a thought,as the silver one's look a bit odd on a camo aircraft.I know there are custom F-105F's and F-105G's that have nice camo tanks but I'm not sure how to utilize them on the F-105.Anyone got any ideas? Thanks
  10. And I'm sure you can see from my reply that I'm interested, hot stuff Trooper, see what you've stired up now!!!
  11. Thanks for that,ravenclaw_007.
  12. Nice work Ravenclaw_007 will definatley use your 2048 x 2048,thanks.By the way, love your terrain you're showing there, who's is that if you don't mind me asking? Thanks.
  13. Trooper,Vietnamese Mig17/17F pilots wore black leather jackets as per your Red3211,over,white t-shirts,olive green textile flight suits, green nylon PPK-1 anti-g trousers and wore the leather SL-60 helmets. The Mig 21 pilots wore their ZS-3 white helmets as per your Red3211 over their leather SL-60 helmets.Hope this helps,if you need further references shoot me a pm with you're email address on it and I'll post you some pics,I have a large resource of old books and will be more than happy to help.
  14. I for one would second that, nothing is more annoying than accidentally hitting the 'Instant Action'button.
  15. Thanks Trooper I think I speak for most of us when I say that these are superb,I love Red 3211 this whole kit was also worn by the Vietnamese Peoples Air Force during the Vietnam conflict so I have allready changed all of my enemy pilots over to this one.Mmm part2,I know what is missing a really good Mig 17/Mig 17F Vietnamse pilot in their leather flying helmets I think most people who want to replicate this style of pilot have been using an old WWII pilot skin but it could do with a renew, especially in the hi-res as you have given us.In fact your Red 3211 skin with those leather jackets would be perfect apart from the ZS3 helmets. Anyway only a thought, again this is fantastic stuff, allready looking forward to the part 2.Thanks again very much, brilliant.
  16. I'm having a problem configuring my CH Pro pedals to WOV/WOI.The most important control that of the rudder configs fine, but I want to config the pedals so I can use them for the wheel brakes. This must be possible as there is a separate downward axis for this,ie like a brake on a car,the problem is when I try to config them under the customize heading it asks to press a button to config, like you would to config a button to use as a gun,now there are no buttons on the pedals obviously and that's seems to be the problem.I was wondering if there was somebody else who has got over this problem and could give me a few clues or,most likely am I doing it wrong in which case please tell me,I've been pulling my hair out on this one.I know I can use a button on my joystick or throttle fot this option but that ain't realistic is it.Thanks all.
  17. Excellent work,really nice!!
  18. Have installed Capun's superb AH-1G Cobra and all is well apart from the guns don't work.Apparantly have been well informed that I need to install the gundata.ini and the gundata.dat from Bunyap's Weapons Pack. Now I have searched all over this site for Bunyap's Weapons Pack but I just can't find it.Can anyone help me please.Or if they have the relevant gundata.ini and dat to share could you possibly share it.Thanks.
  19. Wow!!!....This game just got a whole lot better, all set up now with new guns and weapons, fantastic.
  20. I have recently installed Wings Over Vietnam with the latest Oct 2008 update,my question to everyone is is there anyway that the stock B52D pilots could be better installed into the cockpit rather than having half their bodies hanging out of it.At some stage I can only presume that this aircraft has been rescaled/resized,am I right?Does anyone know of a pilot or aircraft resize that would fix this? Thanks. ps Maybe I'm doing something wrong,if I am please let me know.
  21. Thanks also Crusader,'Charlie'won't know what hit him !!!!
  22. Fantastic Stormtrooper,thanks very much indeed,what can I say?
  23. Does anybody know what happened to the AH-1G Cobra chopper that was once available for download?I would reallt love to have this bird flying in my set up if it's possible.Thanks.
  24. Ok,I'm a very happy chappy, with some help from those nice people over at the 'CH Hangar' I've been able to remap my CH Pro pedals brake axis to the 'B' button which is the wheelbrake button within the Third Wire series of flight sims and it has been worth taking the time to get it right.Especially when landing and taxing, superb. Thanks Streakeagle for the idea that you mentioned in your reply,it motivated me in the right direction.
  25. Thanks Stormtrooper,I must admit I am looking forward to what YAP2 will bring, and there's no denying, that is a superb Cobra.
