B52 Pilots in WOV?
Madprof replied to Madprof's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi mdatelmi, right well the problem is that when the new update Oct 2008 was released they altered the size/scale of the B52D hence when you try to add on any old B52 as add ons the pilots will be showing trying to escape from the cabin!!Unfortunatley the only way around this is to resort back to your stock B52D and the pilots will correctly placed. This does however mean that you won't be able to fly any add on B52 aircraft without the pilot problem.Until that is some kind modder can remod the B52 as a flyable aircraft.Sorry if this was not the news you wanted to hear. -

Pilots Of The Vietnamese Peoples Air Force

I love WOV,it's got to be my personal favourite,I love all the work you guys put into it making it more realistic and historically correct every day, but,am I wrong in thinking that no one has ever done a selection of skins for the VPAF pilots to date? There are some superb USAF pilot skins that I have downloaded from Kevin Wrench's site,I think the template was originally Diego's,although I not sure.I do know they are beautiful hi res 512x512 skins that really go to make the whole sim that much richer. Is there any skinner out there that could give us two or three VPAF pilot skins,I personally think it's been overlooked, whilst I have'nt got the skills required to do this I would be more than happy to supply the artist photos for reference from my book collection. The MiG 21 pilots all appear from my books to wear olive green anti G outfits with white ZS-3 helmets over a leather SL-60 flying helmet. The MiG 17 and MiG 19 pilots all seemed to wear dark brown leather jackets over their olive green nylon PPK-1 anti-G flight suits and all wore a leather Chinese or Russian SL-60 flying helmet over a textile white/cream cap. Some of the VPAF aces wore their medals on their jackets. Most of the seat straps showing strapped in pilots appear to be in olive green webbing with big alumimium buckles.I could go into more detail but if anyone has got the Mig units of the Vietnam war books by Istvan Toperczer they're all in there, and they're really worth a look.Well all of this was just an observation really that I personally think is missing from the sim,if someone has skinned some VPAF pilots please let me know,I do like realism. -

CH Pro pedals config wheelbrakes to WOV/WOI?
Madprof replied to Madprof's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yes if anyone has a set of CH Pro pedals and want's to utilize the toe brake option, you apparantly can do so by first of all downloading the CH Control Manager software v.4.20 from CH-Hangar.com and then you can remap the 'B' or brake button in the game controls to the axis of the pedals which is set up for the brake action.I say apparantly as I have yet to work the little matter out myself, lol. If anyone get's there before I do please share how. Some of us lesser mortals find these editors/managers a bit of a headache, especially when you're not gifted with a technical brain, lol. -
CH Pro pedals config wheelbrakes to WOV/WOI?
Madprof replied to Madprof's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Right,I have spoken to CH Products in the US and their tech guy said it is possible with the CH software to map a button to an axis as Streakeagle said he has done with his Saitek pedals. The BIG problem is trying to do this when you have'nt got a techy brain like moi.But it can be done,so I shall endeavour to get this sorted out,I just can't use a button on my joystick when I have pedals that can be used as they should. -

Thanks Streakeagle I'm sure you're right I did have a pair of Saitek pedals up until about a year ago and they worked with the wheelbrake option as you say,I am going to look into this and see what I can do,maybe a kind email to CH Products to ask if they can get round this little problem. It's only a small thing but it does add to the realism, don't you think? -

Request for A-7A and A-7B data ini's from WOV
Madprof posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hello all, could I ask kindly for someone to email me the data ini's for the A-7A and A-7B Corsair's from Wings Over Vietnam,I don't know how to extract them from my game and they are the only two aircraft that I have'nt been able to modify.Prefarably I'm after Data in's that allow me to manually open the canopies of the cockpits but it's not vital as I think I can do this myself if only I can get at the Data ini's.Any help would really be appreciated. Best Regards Andy travis8814@aol.com -
