First about Germany. Never tell a German that he/she is a race or only a language. Germany is like USA. Many states make one country. But in the States you not say: "I'm Kansas", No you say: "I'm American". In the Netherlands we have also 13 different provence.(I think I had te write it so). In Germany say the people also that the German and not that thay are Nedersaksisch. Now our black pages. One big mistake we did was to switch New York for Suriname. If we never did that. Than was USA now on wooden shoes. Next black page was after WW2 that we had give up our colony in the East. America, want's that. So we listen. Good for us. The submarines from Russia lay for the coast in that time. We never knew it for a couple years ago. But, see now how the trouble is in Indonesia. And the biggest black page: The biggest thing what we did was slave trade. We shamed about that. But history, you can't changed it. But we are also proud on our country. We kicked out the Spain after 80 years of war, France are beaten, with help from others we beat the Nazi's. And we beat once England with Admiral Michiel de Ruyter. In a far away history. So look in the books or internet and you find more. Every country has his good and bad things. This was in a few words history of the Netherlands. Greetings Dutchy

Yes, we skate on open frozen canals behind dykes. And sometimes we have a big tour about 200km in the head of the Netherlands. It call Elfstedentocht. Translated as Elevencitytour. It was for last time in 1997. When you win that race. You are a hero forever in our country. On frozen lakes we also skate. We skate when there is ice. Long distance is what we like. Sprint also. A few years ago I met Derek Parra. He is famous here. Even with Jennifer Rodriquez, she is also populair here. I met here to. When the winter is beginning, almost every dutchman/-woman wanna skate. And in the ice-hockyteam of Heerenveen are Americans playing. Here something what you can read. www.fansite.ijshockey.com/flyers/fo2.htm or when no signal www.fansite.ijshockey.com/flyers/f02.htm Greetings Dutchy

About WW2. The France and the Germans were always in war. Before WW1 the had fight for a Elzas-Lotharingen. It is on the border there. You find France city's with German names. The differen't between WW1 and WW2 is. First was held by an Empire. And the second by a dictator that fought in WW1. And the 30's were terrible in Europe and America (remember the smuggling alcohol and Maffia). Here in Europe, was also high at workless people. Hitler promised them work and food. And revenge for WW1. Only Spain has kept his Nazi dictator at longst. Franco was his name. Germany tested their weapons in the Spainisch war. So I still think: People follow dictators because the wanna work, food and games. And a little bit revenge maybe. Greetings Dutchy

I have one question for you mr. dia_0602: "Where do you come from?" Look, not everybody is glad with war. But sometimes must it done. What you told, was not new for me. I did know everything. But times change and regimes also. One day your Enemy is the other day your Friend. And I can tell you that. My neighbour country Germany, started two wars. Now we live in peace. Other regime, other rules. But what I say about dictators is my meaning. I'm glad that I never went in war. But my grandparents are, and I heard their story. Greetings Dutchy
-
To dia_0602, What you just say, is unbelievble. You only told about what was after Desert Storm 1991. You don't tell about the terror he did before that year. Under his regime was nobody save. The Ba'ath killed in his name thousands of people, for about 35 years. More than there live in a town like LA. Okay, there is a Gulf-War Syndrom. That is treu. And after 1991 people died. Sanctions, were not for nothing. People must stand up against him. But there scared. Scared as 35 years of dictatorship. And now the thank the Coalitian that help them to be free. Think about what you said. And read my forum topic about Dictators. Greetings Dutchy

The battle can maybe short, but the long termin after that is dangerous. You get people that maybe attack the soldiers or each other. I was here in my neighbourhood, the first before the war said: "the war can be short, but the time to get really peace there can be long, very long". And everyone looks to Iraq, but we almost forget now the soldiers in Afgan. Greetings Dutchy
-
On tv I saw live the American soldiers and Iraqi people bring down the big statue of Sadam. It was in the middle of Bagdad. People were dancing on the fallen statue. Weird to see those things live when you come home after work. Greetings Dutchy

I'm a fan of Elvis, but also from heavy metal/hard rock, southern rock like Lynyrd Skynyrd and off course our Dutch pride Golden Earring. I'm still looking for you and asking people here of they know a adress for vinyl. Greetings Dutchy

He saw Jessica and a colonel that slapped her twice. More about this, on CNN website. Hero of the day is a Iraqi man with a wife and daughter. Greetings Dutchy
