I'm afraid you are wrong on this one (OK, perhaps it is that way where you live - lucky you - but I can tell you it's nothing like that here).

Anyone knows if some maps of Spain exist for this game?I have UP 2.0, so I have 1 map of Cartagena and Murcia, but if there are maps of other areas I'd like to know where to find them. -

UP 2.0 does that too. -
Well Spain owned Cuba (and a greater area of USA than England) before USA even existed. So, perhaps it should be Cuba (or Mexico) the one claiming ownership of USA, and not the other way around. Unfortunately Sidewinder, proximity analysis (or whatever other analysis) really means nothing when you add firepower analysis to the mix.

UP 2.0 is not only for on-line games. It adds new planes (F-86 Sabre, Mig 15, Sea Fury...), new maps, new Countries (Spain, Korea...) and new technical features that can be used in single player mode. -

I installed UP 2.0 recently and I've discovered something (marked with a red square in the picture) in the Bf109 cockpit that was'nt there before. Does anyone know what it is? -

Up 2.0 includes several new countries but, is it possible to create campaigns for them? I downloades a campaign about the spanish civil war (republicans) and I copied it from the France folder (it was made for the original game where Spain doesn't exist) to the republican Spain one and it doesn't work. If I'm not mistaken static campaigns doesn't need any config, right? You just have to drop the campaign folder in the country folder. I'm I doing something wrong or making campaigns for the new countries is impossible? -

I guess you are right here. War makes science go a lot faster. The problem with Go 229 is not of historical accuracy, it's simply that you can't land a go 229 in an airplane carrier in the game. Anyway I think this problem is easy to solve, just finish the game mission as soon as you have completed it (bombing whatever target or shooting down all enemy planes or...). I tried to write that in my other post, but there is limited time to edit messages. No? oh, right! no alien ships in sturmovik 1946 -

Did you try changing the games' settings? Perhaps this might work. I don't think you can ask your money back, but you could give the game back and ask for another copy. Perhaps your disk was damaged and some files were broken. It's unlikely this is actually the problem, but you can always try. -

Actually, if you are thinking of a reallistic campaign, I think you should forget about the Lerche and Ta-183 (the russians still have their Jet Yaks). I don't think the russians were interested in keeping an aircraft almost impossible to land. And about Ta-183, acording to the games'aircraft guide: "A captured model of the Ta-183 was tested in the TsAGI wind tunnel post war, and immediately uncovered a fatal mistake in the design. Flutter and subsequent structural failure of the tail unit began at only 700 km/h. Therefore we’ve had to artificially strengthen the tail unit by a great amount, in order to allow for the design to reach specified speeds while still keeping the famous original shape. In reality such a redesign would have been near impossible, and most likely the tail unit would have been radically redesigned instead (such as was the case with the historical Pulqui II fighter built by Kurt Tank after the war). In general, the plane is modeled with several concessions that were possible to make only using the knowledge gained post the 1950s." About Go-229, the problem is making it take off and (specially) land in an airplane carrier. It has no arrestor hook. -

You're right. I'd actually like better a Sturmovik 1945 (Gloster Meteor, F4U4 Corsair, A-26 Invader, F7F Tigercat), but I guess post-war jets and what-if planes were easier to sell to those who are not hardcore simmers, and Videogame makers need their salary too. -

If you mean you finally made PF work and you didn't like it, then forget about 1946. Sturmovik 1946 is the whole sturmovik collection (Pacific Fighters included) plus some new planes and maps packed together in a single disk; essentially, the same game. It's better in things like graphics, I think, but the game experience is the same. If you couldn't make it work, then I can't tell you anything. I like it, but I can not guarantee other people will.If that's the problem you could try to find a Sturmovik 1946 demo and make your own judgement. -
Bill Murray was not on that movie. I think Akroyd's partner in that movie was Chevy Chase.

I think they were talking about PF alone. 4.09 is for IL2+PF or Sturmovik1946. sethiii, what version of Windows do you have? PF worked fine for me, but I installed it on Windows 2000 (now I have 1946 on Windows XP). Anyway, if worse come to worst, Sturmovik 1946 is only 19,95 €. -
I don't think our government is afraid of the tabliban (except for the usual "we can't afford many deaths if we want to win next ellection") What they are really afraid of is looking like "bad, militarist, aggresive" people. You know, they've been trying for years to convince people that our armed forces are actually some kind of "proffesional boy scouts" whose job is putting out fires, helping in situations like Haiti and this kind of things. And, of course, shooting at anyone (even if this anyone is a mass murderer terrorist) might be harmful for this fairytale picture they want to show us.
