  1. Oh that looks very nice. Good work mate
  2. Well you might want to start with these numbers and see how they work out Specular=1.000000 Glossiness=0.500000 Reflection=0.800000 They are from the stock Mig-17 Soviet Silver skin.
  3. First impressions are good. Running Stary's Unified Effects Pack I used to have to have my Effects set to medium, and even then a ripple of cluster bombs would temporarily slow my system to a crawl. I can now run the game with Effects set to high. Cluster bombs cause a temporary dip in frame rate, but nowhere near as bad as before. So going by my quick and wholly unscientific test there has been a significant improvement in FPS with this patch. Good work TK
  4. Right - gotcha. Thanks for the advice Wrench
  5. Right - so let me just get this straight before I go ahead. I've read the thread and I'm almost certain I'll be OK but I'll ask anyway, because I'm paranoid, and it's taken me quite a while to get things 'just so'. I have 5 different mod installs that I created by duplicating my SF2E EXP2 exe. Because they are running off of duplicates of my exe I should be fine to just apply the patch and it should not FUBAR my MOD folders? I would normally read the Knowledge Base for this, but seeing as everyone seems to be here and talking about the new patch I thought I'd just ask. Looking forward to higher frame rates. Cheers
  6. Close Air Support. South of the DMZ. April 1972. Armed Recon. Somewhere in North Vietnam. April 1972.
  7. Thet's exactly what it is  I got a bit bored of flying over desert all the time so I turned Dhimar/Paran into more European look. Although to be honest I don't think the Isreal 'rough' tile goes with Tuma's beautiful FE fields, so I'll probably put something else in it's place. Now I've got to do some reading in the knowledge base and figure out how to use the terrain editor and put my trees and buildings in the right place, they don't match the fields or city tiles at the moment.
  8. Just so happens I downloaded some of these a few months ago and still had them on my HD. Until the problem gets sorted out you can download them from my Filefront a/c. http://www.gamefront...ion_Planner.pdf http://www.gamefront...ded+Weapons.pdf http://www.gamefront...ial+for+WOX.pdf http://www.gamefront...ple_Planner.pdf http://www.gamefront...-10+Grumble.pdf http://www.gamefront...very_Manual.pdf
  9. Yeah - they're lovely aren't they? Have wanted a Vixen for SF2 for a long time. Very much looking forward to this.
  10. I finally got over my 60's fixation and tried something a bit more modern (well - 80's anyway). Nice to have missiles that actually track and hit stuff. Hornets absolutely rock
  11. I've been playing with the F-18A for a few days trying to clear up my HUD as it looked a bit fuzzy. I was trying to edit the HUD TGA files in Photoshop in an attempt to make them look better, but had no luck. I can't believe I missed the most obvious solution . Thanks Emp_Palpatine.
  12. Another great AAR BeachAV8R - keep 'em coming.
  13. Nice work. She sure is fun to fly. Thanks Wrench
  14. Cougar Strike. Take off Ran into some flak Lost my wingman on the way in Hit the target Got bounced on the way back The end of another campaign.
  15. Yeah, that's a vast improvement. Plenty fluffy, and a lot more coverage. Now there is a noticeable difference between scattered and broken. Thanks Panama Red
  16. I don't think it's just you. I've tried various environments since the last patch. In all of them 'broken' look just the same as 'scattered' to me. Unless anyone else knows any better?
  17. Yep - she's a beaut isn't she? I got it here, it's on page 28 of aircraft downloads.
  18. I'm always on the lookout for more Soviet aircraft from this era. Nice one
  19. Nice work again BeachAV8R. I find myself checking these forums several times a day just looking for your next AAR. Keep it up
  20. Well - that didn't last very long. Recon flight just over the Jordan border, I figured would be a milk run. OK, so we caught some flak going over the target, but nothing to write home about. After getting an RTB from Red Crown, decided to turn back and deal with the two 17-s that had been loitering about a few miles from the target. This was a mistake. These guys were good. Very good. Well - either that or I was very bad. Or complacent. Anyway - as a greater man than me once said - 'Game over man'
