  1. I'm in the process of tweaking the Desert tileset to my own liking. I've done the main tiles OK, that was nice and straightforward. But I am having a problem with the tiles that butt up to the sea. These obviously still look like stock, creating a very ugly transition. See screenshot For the life of me I cannot see any sea/desert BMP tiles in the unpacked Desert terrain cat. The sea/desert BMPs I found are all mono, and look like masks possibly. Do I have to do something fancy with these? I've had a look through all the TGA files, but none of them look like what I am after, ( they look like semi transparent masks to me). Is it something in one of the TOD or LOD files? (I haven't figured out how to open these yet!) I doubt it - it was my understanding that the TODs and LODs are for placing objects on the terrain. I'm kind of at a loss here. Can any terrain gurus point me in the right direcion? Thanks in advance.
  2. Ah - the penny's dropped. I've just realised something. I remember having this problem before whilst editing files for Silent Hunter 4. If I open a file with a layer mask in it, Gimp only actually shows me the layer mask. It doesn't show the texture underneath, and I can't edit it. I'll take the TGAs into work and do them in Photoshop. Thanks for the replies guys.
  3. Well that just made me spill my coffee.
  4. Excellent, thanks for the quick response and fix. OK, I can live with that. It gives me an added incentive to perform well during missions. Again, thanks for this expansion, it's frikkin' awesome.
  5. Right, I've just installed this, along with the VPAF expansion, over a clean install of SF2+SFV+SFE+SFE EXP2. Quick question. I've just played 3 missions of Steel Tiger, flying a Sabre '64 out of Da Nang. After two successful strike missions (somewhere in Route Package 1 I believe) I got a message that friendly ground forces had captured Cambodia! I've never seen anything like this before. (But - I've never played the Steel Tiger campaign before, I've always flown in Rolling Thunder). http://img38.imagesh...img00001ln.jpg/ I thought the front lines were supposed to be fairly static to follow the history of the war? Or is this working as designed? Centainly could make things interesting! Anyway, I thought I'd mention it in case it's a problem. Great work by the way mate
  6. Nice. Thanks for all the hard work eberger68. Good stuff.
  7. Oh that's excellent news - I've been wondering about this myself. Looking forward to it
  8. Thanks for this Stary. I've just loaded this up. Absolutely beautiful work. Vietnam never looked so good. The new environment system is real nice too. Good work mate
  9. I've outfitted my Merc Squadron with Mig 17s. Boy they're fun to fly.
  10. Stary's upgraded Israel Terrain is stunning. Also I've been having a lot of fun recently with Guyran's Six Day War and Yom Kippur War campaigns, that let you fly for the Arab side. The Migs are great fun to fly, and it's a good way of discovering the capabilities and limitations of aircraft you'll tend to be flying against in other campaigns.
