Ok done some testing. After patching. GR.1 Can VTO (just) with 75% Fuel and 0% ammo. GR.3 Can VTO with authority with 100% fuel and ammo (i didnt try this aircraft last night). GR.7 Can VTO (JUST!) with 75% fuel and no weapons!

Thanks KB. I thought it was possible but not usual (having seen footage of GR.3's in the Falklands doing VTO with fuel and rockets). Now back to my original question, why cant i go vertical with no weapons and only 75% fuel in game? This is with the GR.1 and GR.7

I'm aware a full war load isn't possible at least on the earlier harriers. But i believed that fuel and two pods was possible?

I dont believe so, i've seen pictures with fuel tanks and two matra rocket launchers?

Watched it lastnight, very good program. I didnt know the U2 had so many MFD's ? Btw he doesnt fly it (to me that means he's the pilot) he just gets a ride in it.

The main thing i would like is a mission editor. The inability to create my own single missions is a real pain. I can make campaigns pretty easily without any application, but its just bounds for the random mission generator...

Then Probably not.

I would pay for features over aircraft. A full feature mission editor like Il2 i'd pay for. Full feature multiplayer would be another.

I thought it was only the B-52 which took off due to the curvature of the earth? I remember at RIAT the voice of the B-52H pilot with minimal fuel and no bombs taking off stating this was the first time he'd ever pulled positive G on take off! I had a thought about this issue, how is undercarriage damage set by speed? Could that cause it? IE take off speed is just below the speed at which the undercarriage gets ripped off?

After a quick wiki the swedish subs are about 3 times bigger... 60m vs 20m length.

Hmm the only issue with the chopper is that it looks like its made of fiberglass, and thin plexiglass. The engine wouldn't be powerful enough to lift heavy armour and weapons. Which means you need to make it small. Well it has a firly small cross section but it's still large from a side/plan view. It'll be fine for putting down civilians from range, but anyone with a gun would rapidly poke holes in it. Also didnt most nations not bother with mini submersibles due to the rubbish range and lack of torpedoes.

The new harriers are awesome! Been blowing the stuffing out of T-72's in GR.3's over the weekend, taking off and landing with vectored thrust is fantastic. That is until my flight get bounced by 8 MIG 23's then things get rapidly unfunny. Why is there never a flight F15's when you need one?
