  1. Yes they can. They can be found on the Aircraft's DATA.INI files. The Aircraft data and loadout files in SF2 are similar to SF1 other than the addition of the USERLIST.INI file, which make beginner modders from SF1 to easily transition to modding SF2.
  2. @Bwild I did the same procedure when using the AIM-9G and it works well for me. here is the pic to show how it works. http://combatace.com/gallery/image/17896-aim-9g/ @Bwild and Dave I tried to see if the SEAM function is actually in game and I come across one conclusion. When I tried it with the merged installs + EXP1 only, the AIM-9G and other IRM that have 180 rear aspect function the same way as all IRM with 60 rear aspect lock which they fly straight with no tumbling motion you normally see in an all aspect IRM. When I installed EXP2, I see a major improvement to the IRM that have 180 rear aspect. I test fired the AIM-9E and G models (one do not have seeker slave and the other does), and both missiles intercept their targets the same way an all aspect would in addition to the tumbling motion that the all aspects possess. From the looks of it, looks like rear 180 IRM's now have some kind of limited all aspect capability of some sort. Not that they can lock-on in a head on but it greatly improves the Pk compared to rear 60 IRM's. On a note to Bwild, looks like this function only works once you get EXP2. I dunno if it will work if you patch it to dec.2010c but i'm not willing to try it because of the "over the airfield" bug. I dunno but i may need someone to correct me on the patching part.

  5. I think we already have half of the Gulf of Sidra mission which takes place in 1989. We sure could use a campaign that takes place in Libya, the map is good enough to put one major air war into play. Other than that, I'm currently using the stock WOE campaign to work on a 1951 campaign if the US actually went ahead with the invasion of China in which the Soviets respond by attacking Europe. This campaign is technically MiG Alley in Europe.
  6. You can get it as part of the SFP1 weapon pack here http://combatace.com/files/file/7791-weapons-pack-252-by-the-wosfp1-community/
  7. And make sure that the Anti-ship tab is ANTI_SHIP. you need you use underscore and not the dash in order for the game to recognize it.
  8. Anyone here working on the MQ-1 and MQ-9? I tried the X-45 and 47 and they work really nicely. It would be great to add these unmanned birds in the skies blowing up tanks or being targets for MiGs :D.
  9. F-15E here. One of the better if not The best examples of turning a good fighter into a great bomber. Loved dropping bombs on target while still having missiles and performance to outfight the enemy, a true multi-role fighter if you ask me.
  10. Nice work Fastcargo. both look good, any plans of releasing both the single and double seaters (love single seater AS fighters).
  11. This applies to all SF series. You just go to the option file in the SF/WO* root folder then find these parameters: StartYear=1955 EndYear=2010 I just edited the years so I can play the Bear hunt mod. you can change the year you want to end. to have absolutely no limit in the time scale, just set the start and end year to 0 StartYear=0 EndYear=0
  12. I know the Su-47 exist as an incomplete work and people have rarely talk about when it will come out. So I was wondering if anyone is working on the project. Its a cool plane that is worth working on as a gen.5 Russian air superiority fighter that can compete with the F-22.
  13. true on that. but aside from the Su-47's tvc problem, it doesn't look that bad and looks like its good for a pre 1.0 beta release.
  14. With wrench's WWII maps (especially WWII Europe), and Wolf257's WWII plane pack,I just suddenly came up with a rather crazy idea on a WWII scenario. I'm going to create an air war campaign with the WWII terrain with a surprising addition of F-15s and EF-2000 Typhoons and other kinds of generation 4+ fighters. I just thought of this idea after seeing the one scene in the movie The Final Countdown where 2 F-14s dogfight with 2 Japanese A6M2 Zeros (although they are modified AT-6's) . After watching that one scene, I wonder if its possible to do this on the European front. Any opinions and criticisms are allowed as I'm just trying to experiment this whether or not it is feasible.
  15. The problem is the Ymac parameter. Left should be negative and right should be positive. I had that problem too until I checked out the prop heads forum in the fixes which also answers this problem too.
  16. File Name: Battle of Guadalcanal (fiction) File Submitter: Vambrace File Submitted: 06 Feb 2010 File Category: User Made Campaigns With new WWII maps coming to play, I decided to make a WWII campaign. Unlike any WWII campaign, I took the liberty to add modern warbirds into the fray just for the fun of it. The creation of this campaign was influence by the movie The Final Countdown. The campaign is mostly an air war due to my limited knowledge on how strategic nodes work. So if anyone want to assist me in this (recommendations and so forth), I'd be greatful. The campaign currently only allow you to fly the F4F-4 and the F-14D because I have yet to add carriers in the campaign. Future plans may include adding carriers to the fray which add more US aircraft into the mix as well as the Japanese. Click here to download this file

  18. Those are some good ideas. I'll start working on a prototype of the campaign with the WWII Europe campaign. I'll probably start out by making a battle of Britain style campaign. But I'm a bit curious on one thing though. Should I allow future planes to appear as the AI squadron or should I make it player only?
  19. @meathead: Either I can work on the battle of midway, or I can even work on operation downfall either flying as a US navy F-14 or F/A-18E, US marine F/A-18A, or even fight in the JASDF side in an F-15CJ or F-2A. @Godad: aside from tanks vs cavalry, ever thought of the idea of an M1 Abrams taking on a German Tiger tank? would be epic considering the Abrams is heavier than the Tiger yet can travel twice as fast. As for the AI, giving them A2A missiles compensate a bit for their blackout frequencies. To be honest, it takes a lot of practice and guts to engage WWII planes even with an F-22. But for the sake of maintaining WWII fun, i'll keep the planes from the future a player only squadron. Anyone want to come up with a back-story idea on how these planes somehow go back in time aside from how it is done from the movie. I currently have quite a bit of homework and stuff to deal with. so until I am done, I won't on this project but any idea and opinions are appreciated.
  20. Not really. I just use Pasko's WWII weapon pack and put in the missiles from the 2.52 weapon packs. I use the AIM-54C weapon model from the SFP1 weapon patch, so it takes a while to get it ready. Aside from the missiles for the sake of difficulty (never try to enter a turning fight against and Fw-190 with an F-15) using the bombs from the era makes perfect sense. The idea behind this is that you passed through a storm somewhere in the future (1992-2010 range) and end up in 1940 Europe when Germany was at the height of its power. If I can somehow get all the stuff for the Battle of Britain campaign (groundobjects, aircraft, etc.), I'll add either an EF-2000 or a Tornado F.3. As for the weapons in the time scale, I just edit the start and end years as 0 so I can use them in any time frame. The missile I use for all aircraft (regardless of aircraft type) are the AIM-9M, AIM-7M, and AIM-120A. they are enough to handle any plane in the era for obvious reasons . Here is how a gen.4 fighter do battle: Splash the Zeros.
  21. Not exactly. the AIM-9L at the time when the movie was first shot (1980), the sensor was sensitive enough to track the heat of the aircraft generated through air friction. And since the aircraft i'm planning to use are generation 4-5 fighters, they would use the AIM-9M\X, and ASRAAM, which in turn makes it even easier for the missile to lock on. with that in mind, i'm gonna experiment this with the battle of Britain campaign that we already have. its a good start before I try to do this on the WWII Europe map.
