  1. I just got back home from another business trip and am catching up on things around here before grabbing a bit of kip. That's a good-looking plane Red-Dog, it will make a very nice addition to what few Tripe skins we currently have. Here is the one I've been working on for a while, when time allows: As I mentioned earlier in this thread I hope to have it finished this weekend, however I am still playing around with different graphics on the side and have adjustments to make here and there to colors, and weathering and such. Cheers! Lou
  2. Ras, I'm in the middle of painting a blue one that I should have done this weekend, and while it is not an authentic scheme, it will have a nice period feel. I will post it when I have it ready. I am also betting that some of our OFF aircraft artisans are working on one or two as well. Cheers! Lou
  3. . I had a Sunday afternoon completely free, so I got creative. Hope you enjoy watching this little video as much as I enjoyed producing it. A Duel in the Sun Cheers! Lou .
  4. Baldric, thanks Sir, glad you enjoyed the video and the music. That particular version of Mozart's work was done by the Philadelphia Orchestra, if I remember correctly. Bullethead, Elmore James...outstanding blues man, "Dust My Broom", one of my favs. But I've so many in the genre that I find great I couldn't possibly pick a single artist as my top choice: Blind Lemon Jefferson, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, T-Bone Walker, Big Bill Broonzy, Leadbelly, John Lee Hooker, and on and on. Man, love the blues. As to "A Clockwork Orange"? Well, after 35+ years that Kubrick film effort still disturbs me. Cheers! Lou
  5. It's Time To Play,"What's My Plane" !

Dej my good man, you are so right it's frightening. More for you lot than for me, but frightening all the same. Study those tomes and steel yourselves laddies, you have about 48 hours to breathe easy until I get back home from a quick business trip I had foisted upon me late this afternoon. That's two days of me mulling over just what my final batches of puzzlement, mystification, frustration, anxiety, and general confoundment shall contain. Be ready. Mua-Ha-Ha-Ha! Cheers! Lou
  6. Dej, that was the only spin I had in all the footage I gathered, and as mentioned before I intentionally put myself into that one to try and get just such a shot. I have flown the OFF Camel so much since I loaded up this sim that it feels almost a part of my being. I love that plane. Cheers! Lou
  7. Thank you Dej, much appreciated Sir. And I know Kempf bloody well after this too! Oh, and I gave both of those superb pieces consideration for this little project. But I think the bit I made use of fits quite all right. Cheers! Lou
  8. Thanks much Olham, I am glad you enjoyed it Sir. And a "dance" is precisely what I was going for. WWI scout vs scout aerial combat was just so. A beautiful and deadly dance. Cheers! Lou
  9. . WOAH! Now there's a compliment Widowmaker, my film made up for the shortcomings of Mozart's Symphony #40. Sweet! Of course in music, as in life, to each his own. I personally like this particular piece, but then me and Wolfgang, we tight, we homes. Yo, and he deserved that MTV Music Award way more than Taylor Swift. .
  10. I am soooooo happy.....

Well done itifonhom on your first medal. You are now part of that elite OFF group of "invested" pilots. As others have noted, you will become more and more attached to your virtual persona as your hours climb along with your tallies. I wish you the best of luck Sir, and I hope you won't be too devastated when the end comes for Erich von Mainfeld, (as it has come to us all). “Hurrah for the dead already, and hurrah for the next man to die!" Cheers! Lou
  11. . Merely a flesh wound. Besides, he'll now have a scar to show the frauleins after the war is over. .
  12. . Thanks Bullethead, glad you enjoyed it Sir. But I must also give credit to my ace adversary, Ltn. Fritz Kempf. That man's a marvel with the DR1. It was an honour fighting him and I was glad he was able to land his damaged craft without harm to himself. Cheers! Lou
  13. It's Time To Play,"What's My Plane" !

And there you have it Rickitycrate. The Beardmore W.B.III, or to use the official military designation for this particular model with the folding undercarriage, the S.B.3F. Later versions had jettisonable undercarriages and flotation equipment and were tagged the S.B.3D. Also, the WB.III could be fitted with either the seven-cylinder Clerget or nine cylinder Le Rhone 9C rotary, both of 80hp. Two more points to you Sir. ******** Here are the contest standings after the latest Wild Card photo: Olham, 24 points Dej, 21 points Red-Dog, 18 points Rickitycrate, 18 points Bullethead, 5 points Duce Lewis, 5 points Luftace, 5 points Burning Beard, 4 points Check Six, 2 points rhythalion, 2 points JohnGresham, 1 point Shrikehawk, 1 point TonyO, 1 point zoomzoom, 1 point Cheers! Lou
  14. It's Time To Play,"What's My Plane" !

DING DING DING !!! WILD CARD PHOTO ! The first to correctly identify the aircraft shown, its unusual features, and the company that built the production units of this variant will be awarded 2 bonus points. You must be spot on with all answers to win. Good Luck! .
  15. Problem with A / 1st Flight's Orders

. 77Scout, try changing your "Time", "Space", and "Motion" settings from Newtonian to Einsteinian. (hee, hee, hee, I crack myself up. See, this is why it's never wise to send donkeys to college.) .
  16. Recon Photos etc

. Fantastic photo flynn! This is the kind of documentation that is a rare treat to have. Thanks again. Cheers! Lou .
  17. Welcome to the OFF virtual front jaa, you're gonna love it. And while you're waiting, here's a link to the thread where I've posted a video I've just made that should whet your appetite, (yes I know, shameless self-promotion). A Duel in the Sun Cheers! Lou
  18. . Thanks much stumpjumper, your feedback is appreciated Sir, and I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I wish I had higher quality video capture and editor programs, but I make do with Windows Movie Maker and FRAPS. Now, as to that 4-gun Spad.... .
  19. Recon Photos etc

These are great flynn, thanks for sharing Sir. Please post the others when you have access to them, I'm betting we'd all like to add them to our libraries. Cheers! Lou
  20. Thanks again Rickitycrate, and to answer you question about the views, I used Shift+F9 which gives you "fly-by view" and Shift+F6 which gives you "float view". With "fly-by" the computer pics the stationary point to view from based on when you hit the command. I played around with this for a while and discovered that you can achieve a wide variety of "angles" depending on where your plane is when you hit the keys. Also, if you fly too far outside of the frame the POV will shift. So, if you clicked a view you like just keep turning, climbing, and diving within the "box" and you will hold that view as long as you wish. If you don't care for the view fly outside the frame and you will cycle to a new one. Cheers! Lou
  21. Thanks much Ras, I appreciate the comments Sir. Actually, I wanted to do a landing next to Kempf but when I tried the sim exited me due to damage from the fight. And my odds of putting just the right amount of damage on my opponent a second time so he would do a forced landing were about 1-in-a-100. BTW, how did you like that death spin I put my trusty Camel into and then pulled out of? I'm rather proud of that shot. Cheers! Lou
  22. now this isn't cheating is it?

Thanks Sir, much appreciated! I will give it a go soon. BTW, if you haven't seen it yet, check out my "Duel in the Sun" video and let me know what you think. I was playing with some new views and would like the feedback. Cheers! Lou
  23. now this isn't cheating is it?

. SWEET! More firepower is always a good thing stumpjumper. How does that kite handle with the extra weight ? Cheers! Lou
  24. . Hmmm, over 60 views of this video so far and only one comment. Couldn't be my stellar film work and editing so I guess there just aren't many Mozart fans around here. Or maybe some bad vibes towards King Vidor. .
  25. Glad you liked it Rickitycrate. I was pretty much smiling the whole time I was working on it. Cheers! Lou
