The OFF Campaign PND Standard
RAF_Louvert replied to Broadside uda Barn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Fun idea BuB. It could be prove to ba a refreshing change from the PAD I fly most of the time, which all go pretty much like this: "Contact! Clear!" (varied flight interval) "AUUUUUUUUGH!" Sadly, you have died in combat... Cheers! Lou -
I print mine directly from my jpg file, OvS. Also, if you need it, here is the direct link to the file image that is stored online at the RAF website: http://www.raf209squadron.net/louvert/RFC_report_01.jpg I have already grabbed a copy of your file HomeBoy. It is arranged very nicely, has all the info boxes a pilot could ever want, and looks to be very easy to use. TKS Sir. Cheers! Lou

Yes Sir Homeboy, that is a very good idea. Back when I first started flying OFF early this year I had posted a digital copy of an actual RFC claims form that I had cleaned up to use for this very purpose. I have a small stack of them printed up and sitting next to my cockpit that I use when flying DiD missions. If I'm not mistaken Pol was considering using this at some point in the future in one of the OFF updates. Anyway, here it is again for those who might like an historic version of Homeboy's excellent idea. Cheers! Lou

Belly up to the bar boys!
RAF_Louvert replied to Broadside uda Barn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well done BuB! I was battling MvR myself a while back in February of '18. I had actually gotten some damage on his tail and he was clearly having trouble keeping up after that. I was about to roll in behind him for what I was hoping would be the coup de gras when he was hit dead square by one of our AA shells, and he lost every wing on his tripe! I watched as he did the lawn dart into the mud just on his own side of the lines. I wish I had been running FRAPS at the time as I had never seen anything like it before or since. Cheers! Lou -
Boom and zoom, Red-Dog. The Spad is a lousy turn fighter. Cheers! Lou

My Saitek PZ35 Pro Flight Pedals Arrived!
RAF_Louvert posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I returned home this afternoon from work and there they were, waiting at the back porch door for me. I now have them set up, software installed, adjustments made as per Check Six's excellent instructions, (thanks again Steve), and I am flying OFF with rudder pedals! WOOO HOOO! It is SOOOOOOO much better than twisting the stick. Now then, I need a rumble chair like Rickitycrate's, and a table fan with a castor oil spritzer atop my monitior and I'll be right there! Cheers! Lou -
Winder wrote: That would be a boon to this already fantastic sim Winder. It's one of the very few things I miss, the ability to fly my own custom skin without seeing the rest of my wingies in the same dress. Cheers! Lou

My Saitek PZ35 Pro Flight Pedals Arrived!

Check Six wrote: Yes Sir, that big tension knob on my set turns as it should and has little "click" detents that you can feel as you turn it. Sorry yours is stuck Steve. I have mine cranked all the way to full tension, which feels about as it should to me. And British_eh, it is for sure great stuff. I am learning to dance with my Camel all over again. Cheers! Lou -
Oo...Oo...I know Olham, I know. I/F is the music in the game, (I know becasue I asked the same question in Winder's sticky sound post). 77Scout, I currently have my sounds set as follows: Engine 60 Effects 40 Cockpit 100 I/F 80 This seems pretty good to me, but it's personal taste I am sure. Cheers! Lou

TKS Rickitycrate, I'm having a blast with 'em already. It's amazing how much more rudder response you have with the pedals vs the twist stick, (and I know others have noted that before, but...WOW!). Now then, about this rumble chair Sir... Cheers! Lou -
Fee almost escaped me in a huge cloud

BH wrote: Ain't that the truth. The Fee is really quite a handy old bus. And you put them up in a group that knows how to use them and you will have a fight on your hands no doubt. Cheers! Lou -
Oh man, I may have to switch sides to fly that kite! Fantastic work Pol and OsV, absolutely beautiful. And I know what jastas they were assigned to...can I tell? Cheers! Lou

Went to Make a Quick Video Of the Cannon Noises
RAF_Louvert posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Here is a short WMV of the new cannon noises I mentioned in my previous post, (and have now been set straight on by Pol as to turning them down a tad if I so choose). Funny thing is, I suddenly found myself in a dog fight with a sneaky Einie driver who nearly got the drop on me. Startled me so badly I was shooting at thin air more often than not. But none-the-less I not only sent him to Valhalla but caught a nifty little bit of ariel combat on film to boot. Enjoy...I know I did. Always watch your six no matter how noisy the War gets. Cheers! Avoiding the AA (archie)(hate)(AAA) ugly black clouds that hurt
RAF_Louvert replied to Broadside uda Barn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
BuB wrote: Just remember the five "D"s of dodge ball. Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dodge. If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge Archie. And Pol, thanks again for the sound tip. I have mine tweaked pretty darned good now. Cheers! Lou -
Winder, may I ask; what is User I/F? I have been fiddling with the sound settings and it is a neat feature that really does allow you to dial in the sounds the way you feel they should be. Thanks Sir. Cheers! Lou

I'm not sure if this is what BuB was referring to in his AA post, but I just finished a mission in the Escadrille Americaine campaign I am flying, and the cannon fire was WAAAAAY over the top! June 21, 1916, flying out of Behonne about midday and I no sooner left the aerodrome when the most gawd aweful racket started up from the big guns. It honestly sounded as if every cannon and AA along the entire front was going off right below me, and it never stopped for the entire 45 minute flight. I am wondering if this might be a glitch in the new Super Patch. Has anyone else experienced this since installing it? I felt that the noise from the cannons before was quite realistic, but what I just went through was downright painful. I had to turn the volume down to almost nil for the last 10 minutes of the flight because it was starting to drive me a bit batty, (and I don't have that far to go I'm afraid). Any help here would be much appreciated. (Eh? What's that? Can't hear you, ears are still ringing.) Cheers! Lou

Excessive Cannon Fire...HELP!
RAF_Louvert replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
No no Gents, I fully understand that the front is a very noisy place. I was simply caught off guard by the new and improved volume and amount of said noise. Had to get me ear plugs I did. Cheers! Lou -

LOL! You're funny Olham. TV window. Yup, that way it always feels like my favorite show, "Dogfights". And bulletproof? Doubt it VERY much. BTW, since I mentioned vulching in my post above I got to wondering how many of you see this with your own AI wingies? I know it has to do with the performance level of the squadron itself as well as the number of historic aces that fly with you. The Lafayette Escadrille seems to be thick with this early on. I'm hoping we all learn to wrok together better as time goes on. If not, someone may end up getting their tail feathers brushed by friendly fire. -
Greetings All, I had mentioned in stump-jumper's Caudron post that I had a photo of a G4 with an experimental mount of the Davis recoiless large bore gun, and was wondering how many of you had ever run across this particular weapon in your WW1 studies. If you are not familiar with it, here is an excellent article that covers it quite well: The Davis Gun There were certainly a lot of unusual ideas concerning aerial comabt that came out of this war. Necessity really is the mother of invention. Cheers! Lou

21 plane furball and fps
RAF_Louvert replied to Broadside uda Barn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
BuB, I am running an XP Pro 64-bit OS on a Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0ghz Wolfdale CPU, with 8gb DDR2 PC2-6400 800mhz memory, and a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512mb card. I have the CPU overclocked to 3.8ghz and the memory sticks OC'd to 890mhz. The only time I get the white jaggies is when I am running FRAPS to capture a video. Otherwise I have smooth, clear views throughout my flights and fps up around 40-45, even in a massive furball over the front with AA everywhere. Sliders are set at 5-3-3-5-5. Hope this info is helpful Sir. Cheers! Lou -
When did we get the Model-T?

I love driving the ol' Tin Lizzy into town to visit M'selle Fifi. As to flying the bicycle about, I tend to leave that for ET. Cheers! Lou -

LOL! Yup, me too as I was replaying it. I was thinking, "This bloke has got to be the worst damned shot in the whole French Air Service! And how did you like those vulching squad mates of mine? There'll be hell to pay in the canteen tonight I can assure you. Cheers! Lou -
