  1. Now why is that?

"Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Ha ha ha..." I love that movie. .
  2. OFF BH&H, future: Work in Progress

    BTW, I also vote for more two-seaters. Perhaps a Floyd...er...Lloyd. S! Lou
  3. OFF BH&H, future: Work in Progress

STAND STILL LADDIE! Learn to fly your scout planes or ya can't have any two-seaters. HOW CAN YA HAVE ANY TWO-SEATERS IF YA DON'T LEARN TO FLY YOUR SCOUTS?! .
  4. Now why is that?

Perhaps your OFF pilot is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is still slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do...go through his clothes and look for loose change.
  5. CS2 extract tool help please?!

Aaaah, now I know what you are referring to WM, (I had thought you meant some tool that was available in the Combat Flight Simulator software...LOL). I have found that screenshots seem to have too much infiltration of the background into the image itself and the extract tool gets "confused" as it tries to decide which is image and which is background. What I have tried in the past is to change the color of the background to something that is not anywhere in the image itself...hot pink for example. Then the extract tool seems to have a better chance of reading what it is you want to extract correctly. It doesn't always work, but I have had some success with it. The way I tend to do it more often when I am trying to get a very crisp image clip out of the background is to simply cut the image out and paste it into a worksheet and then erase away the background by hand with the erase wand, leaving the "extracted" image in its own layer with very clean edges. Hope this helps Sir. Cheers! Lou
  6. CS2 extract tool help please?!

Widowmaker, what exactly is this extract tool you speak of? CFS is still rather new to me so I am learning too. If I can try out this tool maybe I can sort out what is going on with it in the example you show here. Thanks WM. Cheers! Lou
  7. SWEET! Can't wait to see the completed work Dej. Cheers! Lou
  8. I have started to....

Right you are Bullethead. In the old pics you will sometimes see little circles painted around patched bullet holes, and also tiny British and French roundels on the Hun planes at the patches. Widowmaker, very cool Sir. I used to do the same thing on my RB3D Camel. Cheers! Lou
  9. Very nice video vignette Jammer. Great choreography. It is fun creating these OFF short subjects, isn't it? Cheers! Lou
  10. Flyboys

Actually, some of the best WWI action scenes and story lines were found in this weekly series: A Great And Historically Accurate WWI Air War Series Funny how often this one is forgotten when discussing this subject. Cheers! Lou
  11. Flyboys

Good Morning All, Fun discussion going here folks, but let me add that if you are really looking for the WORST WWI air war film ever made it has to be "Von Richthofen and Brown" from 1971. If any of you remember it you know what I am talking about. And if you haven't seen, you must find it and prepare for the wretching, laughing, head-shaking, and screaming at the TV, "OMG you have GOT to be kidding me!" . As to the "best" films on the subject, I agree on "The Blue Max", and also would include "Dawn Patrol" from 1938. Both are well-made, well-acted, and a bit more accurate. Cheers! Lou
  12. Zeppelins Over Paris !

OlPaint, I imagine that with a little tweaking some of the Phase II missions can be adapted. If you could send me the mission file and the Gotha files, or tell me where I can download them, I can give it a go and see if we can get something sorted out. Thanks. And don't those zeps put up the fireworks when they ignite. Cheers! Lou
  13. Welcome to the OFF skies Bruce. Hold on tight, you are in for a bumpy ride...and a great one! And I must make the same request as TSmoke...no more red text, please. Nearly lost my kippers on the screen when your post popped up this AM. Cheers! Lou
  14. OFF BH&H, future: Work in Progress

SWEET! Many thanks again Polovski and all for a great WWI combat flight sim. I have barely scratched it's surface. Cheers! Lou
  15. Zeppelins Over Paris !

Good Morning OlPaint, Glad you are enjoying the mission. The OFF developers did an outstanding job with the sky effects, (and everything else), and you find out just how outstanding at times such as sunset and sunrise. As to the flaming of the zeps, you are not missing any files there Sir. I have discovered that if you hit them at close range with the rockets they will just "pop" and you won't get the spectacular firey explosion. I assume this is coded right into the damage model of the airship and so is something that can't be changed. However, if instead you hit the zeps with your rockets from a very far range with a glancing shot they will be damaged but not destroyed, and then you can make gun passes until they flame. I will add that I tried several different attacks on the zeps and it seems you can flame them with guns only and it takes about as long to do so with or without the initial glancing rocket hit. I was shocked and a bit disappointed as well the first time I hit one with the rockets and it just vanished, (except for the tail fins that spun away). But it is still a lot of fun to hunt them, and once you know the trick to getting them to flame it is quite a sight. Hope this helps, OlPaint. Enjoy! Cheers! Lou

  17. Thanks Ras. And yes...yes it is the mission available for download from one of our members. Cheers! Lou
  18. Take a look and leave a comment.

I'd say so Red-Dog, but remember that the little clouds with bubbles indicate what a character is thinking, while the little clouds with hooks indicate what they are saying. Keep plugging away at it Sir, I am anxious to see the finished results. Cheers! Lou
  19. 1st campaign mission

I'll also add my "Welcome to the OFF campaigns", Luftace. It is a lot of fun and a real challenge to stay alive. And best take Olham's advice on that DII in the fall of '17. We Camel pilots are having those with our tea on a daily basis at that point. Mmmmm...roast Albatross and fresh biscuits. Tasty. Cheers! Lou
  20. While this is not a screenshot per se, (actually more a long series of screenshots...about 50 per second), I thought I would add it here just in case it was overlooked in the general posts. I think it turned it rather well. And let me say again how much I like stopping by here in the mornings and checking out all the latests postings, pics, and stories. It is so much more enjoyable than the daily paper. BRITISH emPATHEy LIMITED presents the following short film, meant to inspire and excite the folks back in Blighty: CLICK HERE FOR "ZEPPELINS OVER PARIS !" 21. Zeppelins Over Paris !

Glad to know you are enjoying it Bigfish2. This was my first attempt at creating a mission for OFF, and it was a learning experience, especially since I couldn't get "Mission Builder" to work for me. I ended up going in and just writing the whole thing in the code, using a copy of another mission file as the "template". Also, you could go into the BHaH Help forum and check, might already be a post there about installing the add-ons, and your suggestion about having one here as well is a good idea so mention it to one of the OFF administrators when you get the opportunity. And not to worry about the sunrise thing, I get excited about this sim too. Cheers! Lou BTW, I made a short movie on this mission and placed it in the General Forum yesterday. Here's the post: BRITISH emPATHEy LIMITED presents the following short film, meant to inspire and excite the folks back in Blighty: CLICK HERE FOR "ZEPPELINS OVER PARIS !" Enjoy. .
  22. It is so very, very good! Thank you for sharing this Parky. Cheers! Lou
  23. Olham, that is indeed another excellent site. Also, if folks are looking for a concise, accurate, and enlightening read on the subject, I strongly recommend "The Lafayette Flying Corps", by James Hall and Charles Nordhoff. Cheers! Lou
  24. in the future released

What about a large wooden badger? Cheers! Lou
  25. This is a great site Olham, I have used it myself recently numerous times when doing research. Thanks for posting the link here for eveyone. Rooster...LOL! Cheers! Lou
