  2. Does P4 get it's own name?

. AAAAAAAAAAH HA HA HAAAAAAAA! Oh, that has to be the one then. .
  3. . I had completely forgotten about the DD comics! Thanks for reminding me Mike, or should I say 'Dogfight'. .
  4. Naval & Military Press

. Great bunch of books there and most are on sale, thanks for sharing the link Shredward. I wish the National Archives Trench Maps Atlas would come down in price. That's a reference work I would like to have someday. .
  5. Does P4 get it's own name?

. OCD?! OCD?! OCD?! I don’t have OCD, lexical or otherwise. ... 123 abc 123 abc 123 abc ... It just important that things are done in a certain order and routine. ... check the light switch, check the light switch, check the light switch ... Patterns are naturally occurring and best followed in order to keep things about one’s self calm and safe. ... do did done, do did done, do did done ... Now then, as to ‘OFF: Evocation’ Dej, I rather like that one. ... very nice, very nice, very nice And just so no one is offended by my humor, I actually do suffer from a mild form of OCD, so I figure I am well within my rights to joke about. Now you'll excuse me whilest I reread this post three times before moving on. .
  6. . hee, hee...great stuff ! .
  7. A couple of OFF "cheats" for you.

. I saw a similarly grusome one back in 1972. Heading up I-94 to St. Cloud from Minneapolis, (a very rural stretch of interstate back then), a guy comes flying past in a lime green Dodge Charger RT 440 Magnum. He had it to the boards and was likely doing about 130mph when he went screaming by me, with two Minnesota state troopers in hot pursuit about half a mile behind. I lost sight of them as they slipped over a small hill about two miles in front of me, and then a minute later I saw a plume of black smoke rising from the horizion. When I arrived at the crash the Charger, (or what was once a Charger rather), was wedged into the bottom of an overpass, where the concrete retaining ramp meets the bottom of the bridge deck. It was now no larger than a refrigerator, and thick oily smoke rolled out of the remains. The skidmarks from where he apparently lost control on a long curve to where he hit the bridge weren't but about 100' long, so he was still likely going in excess of 100mph when the impact occurred. I wondered afterwards if they just buried him in the car. .
  8. I WANT ONE!

When and if I become a bajillionaire I will have a Sopwith Camel built per the original specs, along with a complete WWI aerodrome to fly it from and store it at. I mean, since we're dreaming here anyway. .
  9. . Interesting tidbit there, LIMA. Thanks for sharing the tweak Sir. I will note though that the devs have already dialed back the killing power of AA in OFF from the stock CFS3 weapon. I found this out when I set up my OFF/MAW install. Until I dropped in the proper OFF files the AA in CFS3/MAW would literally blow your WWI kite to bits in about ten seconds. .
  10. Long Time My Friends

. Ras, that is beautiful work Sir. Do you have a studio set up at home? If I find myself in your area and you wouldn't mind, I'd like to stop by and take a look at the rest of your art. .
  11. Steve Jobs RIP

. He accomplished a whole hulluva lot in his 56 years. Can't believe he was the same age as me. Rest In Peace Steve. .
  12. Does P4 get it's own name?

. How about this. Over Flanders Fields: Erstaunlich Vibrant Outstanding Lavish Unmatched Toppers Incroyable Overarching Nifty Or, you could shorten it to: ... hee hee hee ... .

. HURRAH! Three cheers for the Quirk! Raise your glasses to the BE2! Something along those lines Wayfarer?

  15. . A woman?! Oh...no, wait...you said from Amazon, not from THE Amazon. My mistake. .
  16. . My experience with auto-pilot in OFF is near nil. IIRC, it only works as well as you have your plane trimmed, so if you have your kite set up to fly straight and level with "hands off", then AP will work...sort of. However, trimming out your plane that much will also rob it of the very quirks that make it a good fighter, the Camel being the perfect example of this. .
  17. . Ooooooh yes Creaghorn, you will go out of control either 2, 4, 8, or 16 times faster than you normally would, (depending on how high you've ramped up). This is why I recommend that you ease into the time compressions a step at a time and do so with lots of altitude, or you will die with the scream still in your throat. .
  18. . I love flying by paper map and no longer use the in-sim map. And, while I don't use warp, I will ocsasionally use CTRL-SHIFT-E to speed up in-sim time if my real time is getting short and I have to wrap things up sooner than I had planned, (and of course CTRL-SHIFT-R to slow back down). Just be sure you have plenty of alt and ease into the time compressions a step at a time. The nice thing about this is, just like warp, you will drop back to normal time lapse if enemy planes are suddenly in your area. .
  19. A couple of OFF "cheats" for you.

. Everyone who flys a sim, (and I do mean everyone), would benefit themselves immensely by reading Wolfgang Langewiesche's "Stick and Rudder: An Explanation of the Art of Flying". It is the best, most concise, and most easily understood text on the subject you will ever find. $10 to $15 will get you copies of it all day long. .
  20. Long Time My Friends

. RAS! Long time no see, my friend. I bet you have the fall colors going full tilt in your little corner of Minnesota. Ready for winter yet? I'm not. .
  21. Head bob please

. I can tell you from personal experience that you here VERY little when flying in an open cockpit aeroplane, apart from engine noise and wind noise, (unless you throttle way back). And this is reiterated again and again in the personal recollections of WWI flyers. .
  22. Does P4 get it's own name?

    . Oooooooo, wait. I've got it. .
  23. . Let me guess: The magnanimous Gentleman has supplied you with a Track IR set-up of some sort. .
  24. Horses Don't Fly

. I had the opportunity yesterday to sit down and read "Horses Don't Fly". Shiloh, I heartily agree with your recommendation Sir, this should be on everyone's WWI aviation reading list. While the first third of the book deals with his life before the RFC, it sets the stage beautifully for the remainder of his story. Libby's humor, self-effacing style, and earthiness made this memoir a true pleasure to read. .
  25. Does P4 get it's own name?

. 'Over Flanders Fields: The Great Air War' 'Over Flanders Fields: The Way of the Eagle' 'Over Flanders Fields: Wind in the Wires' 'Over Flanders Fields: Winged Victory' Or any number of other classic WWI book titles that might fit well. .
