  1. . As I am flying an N11 career at the moment in Esc 67 and as I had a bit of free time this AM before work I decided to check the OFF N11 against the WOFF version. They are identical as far as dimensions of all parts are concerned so it's a breeze to simply drag custom layers across from any OFF paint templates you might have and drop them directly onto the WOFF N11 skins. Here is one of my favorite OFF Bebes now flying in WOFF. I'll keep you all posted as I check other WOFF aircraft against my old OFF skin templates, (when time allows me to do so). Cheers! .
  2. . Widowmaker, thanks for the info on bringing the old OFF skins across into WOFF. I'll be giving that a go in the near future. Yuppers Duke, I feel your pain Sir. -26F here this morning with a high today of -18F and now it's headed back down to -24F, and all with a 20 mph wind to add spice. We had rain two days ago just before the arctic blast so we have an inch of ice on everything including the two feet of snow we currently have on the ground. Good times ... good times. .
  3. . Many thanks for everyone's personal comments on the story. I am sincerely touched by them all and they make me feel like writing again. Life has been keeping me so busy this last year or so that it just doesn't seem as if there are enough hours in the day to get to everything I would really like to do. . .
  4. Is WOFF strictly solo flying?

. I pretty much had my fill of MP from my old RB3D online squadron days. SP has been holding all my interest for a good long time now and I am quite happy with that. But to each their own, and there is a lot of fun to be had in MP if it's set up properly. .
  5. . I haven't even got into the WOFF skins yet, I've been so busy just absorbing the whole new virtual world ... and working on the Verdun map. .
  6. WOFF Verdun Map Completed

. Thanks Javito and Shiloh, glad to learn it is working for both you gents. I've made a few small changes and have just posted the new revised map. I moved a couple of aerodromes slightly and turned on the layer showing Shredward's very cool forts. I've only run across two of them so far so if you see more please let me know where they are and I will add them in. .
  7. WOFF Verdun Map Completed

. Greetings All, The first update to my Verdun mapping project is now available and it has expanded on the original quite a bit. Based on user feedback the following has been done: Increased the size of the various symbols Added in the railways and depots Added outlines to the lakes in the wooded areas for better contrast Added basic footprints of the larger cities as seen from the air Miscellaneous corrections and adjustments to original map section I will be filling in the missing corners and pushing to the east next to include Nancy, however that will be a bit down the road, (pun intended), as I intend to just fly some campaign missions this weekend. As before, any and all feedback will be much appreciated as will any corrections that anyone happens to note during their flights navigating from this map. Enjoy! Lou .
  8. What mods do you have planned?

. Well, I'm building a big ol' map of the Verdun region at the moment. .
  9. . Well that's not the news you wanted to hear. I'll keep prayin' for you man. Stay tough. .
  10. . hee hee hee, good one Lima. Hauksbee, I was doing my Master Po impression though it does not translate well in a forum post ... Grasshopper. "If a man dwells on the past, then he robs the present. But if a man ignores the past, he may rob the future. The seeds of our destiny are nurtured by the roots of our past." Kung Fo fans, anyone ... anyone? .
  11. . Hope your latest operations went well Tony. Looks likes it's been about a week since you had the last one. Our thoughts and prayers are with you my friend. Please drop by when you can and let us know how you're faring. .
  12. . Thanks for taking the time to post this Shiloh, I am sure it will prove most useful to folks who are in a situation similar to yours. .
  13. WOFF overpriced. Is it just me?

. That sounds like a lot of fun corsaire31, quite reminiscent of some of the old RB3D online campaigns. I wish I had more time and a better internet connection, I'd be onboard in a heartbeat. Oh, and to the OP, WOFF is definitely not overpriced in my humble and honest opinion. .
  14. Off for a two-weeks leave

. Have fun Olham! Be sure to bring us back some postcards. .
  15. WOFF Verdun Map Completed

. Mmmmm, Aberfeldy 12. I prefer Tullamore Dew 12 but Aberfeldy is quite fine as well, particularly when I'm in a Scotish frame of mind. .
  16. . A wonderful video Olham, thanks for sharing Sir. Poignant indeed. .
  17. . Duke, that is the anemometer, i.e. air speed indicator. It is mounted there in order to be out of both the prop wash and the air turbulence caused by the leading edge of the wing. .
  18. WOFF Verdun Map Completed

. Robert, you should ask Pol about the placement of the items and routes on the in-sim map. If it is as simple as replacing one map with another, more detailed one of the same size I'd think that it would have been done for WOFF. I fear it is far more complicated than this. And yes, I most assuredly did get that drink. .
  19. . As per the article Hauksbee, the 'C' is simply an alphabetical designator. It isn't an abbreviation for any particular word. .
  20. WOFF Verdun Map Completed

. Robert, unless the maps are identical in both size and scale, I doubt the course would lay out properly. .
  21. . All your questions will be answered here GrassHauksbee: http://combatace.com/topic/45787-ot-german-aircraft-designation-system/ .
  22. WOFF Verdun Map Completed

. Was out flying a recce of the 15 miles east of Verdun so that I can keep building my map. I just visited the thread over at SimHQ, the canteen will be my next stop but I thought I better check in here first. Robert, I answered your question about the fonts in your post over at SimHQ so you should be good to go. Hauksbee, the map is indeed the result of the first recce missions I flew, along with help from Google Earth and Google Map for proper placement of the towns and roads. Shiloh, I sketch in the mission routes right onto the map I have up on my second monitor and fly accordingly. WOFF doesn't seem to care if you hit the way points or not, only that you loiter over your designated target area for the prescribed amount of time. OK then, time for some liquid refreshments. Later Gents! . .
  23. . The Barmy OFFers Club Throughout the annals of history people of like purpose and intent have gathered together in efforts to share and strengthen their common ideals and to strive in unison towards extraordinary goals. The Knights Templar, the Illuminati, the Freemasons, and other such ancient assemblies have used the combined abilities and fortunes of their members to attempt broad sweeping and long-lasting changes around the globe. Their greatness and power were and are inextricably tied to their like-mindedness and shared zeal, and because of this they became far greater than the sum of their individual parts. The Barmy OFFers Club is nothing like this. We are a daft group, though rather clever and creative, who happen to share the same obsession for the marvelous WWI aerial combat flight sim, 'Over Flanders Fields'. We do not imagine for an instant that we will alter the course of world history, apart from the bygone years of 1914 through 1918 in which our many virtual selves fly and fight and live and die. Since we are a bit over-the-top we do things on occasion that are considered by those not of us to be...well...barmy. Furthermore, we don't look upon these things we do as a negative but rather more a badge of honour. Because of this shared skewed outlook we have been drawn together with others who not only understand but actually appreciate such daftness, as they suffer from the same wonderful instability themselves. Are you such an individual? Do you lack the grip on reality it takes to become one of the BOC? If you think you qualify then we encourage you to apply for membership in this less than illustrious yet somehow elite group of halfwits. Read through our charter and post your qualifications below. Prove to us just how round-the-bend you are for OFF and you too can have your name added to our 'Roll Call Of The Barmy'. Dues will be collected in the club bar on the first Saturday of each month, (and if you believe for even a moment that there actually is a club bar you are closer to qualifying for membership in the BOC than you might realize). 24. . Yuppers, you've got to watch for those fence posts or they'll do you up a treat mate! I know of what I speak, and I've the funny walk to prove it. .
  25. . And the same from me. A very merry Christmas to everyone here, you are a great bunch! .
