Flugplatz Böblingen - Training field of FEA 10
RAF_Louvert replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Outstanding website Olham, thanks for sharing! . -
. Here's my set-up: CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0ghz Wolfdale 6mb 1333fsb 45nm, (OC'd to 3.8), with Arctic Cooler Memory: 8gb DDR2 PC2-6400 800mhz, (OC'd to 840) Mobo: ASUS P5QL Pro Hard Drive: two Western Digital 640 GB Caviar Black SATA Opti Drive: LG 22X DVD+/RW Dual Layer SATA Rewrite Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512mb PS: Diablotek RPM 900w ATX Tower: large Cooler Master, with two additional 130mm case fans, (total of four) Windows XP Pro 64-bit OS LG W22 1920 x 1080 monitor, (same model as Jarhead's) TrackIR 4 with IR5 software Sliders currently set at 5-3-3-5-5; ground density at medium. I get 60fps during normal flight with my wingmates, and 30-40fps in a major furball over the Alsace front with lots of AA and ground fire going on. Also, the only thing I have on my C drive is the OS, OFF, and TrackIR; everything else in on my D drive. .

At last I have the money to finally build my dream machine
RAF_Louvert replied to jamieandnici's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Parky, things can always turn out much worse, as our current government has so aptly proven. I'll be sure and make a mental note about the lozenge-based medication. Thanks Hasse Wind, but no need for those tablets. I've been taking two pilsners every hour as needed, per my doctor's orders, (at least I think that was his prescription). Seems to be working just fine. (When taking this or any medication be sure to follow all label instructions. Consult your physician or bartender if symptoms do not improve within 48 hours.) We now return to our regularly scheduled topic...hic... . -
Graphic Card Solutions - Crossfire or one top Card?
RAF_Louvert replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Olham, from what I've read, two slightly lesser cards in a Crossfire config will be better that a larger single, as long as you have a system that supports that set up. . -
. I believe the devs indicated that P4 will be a complete stand-alone. I'm sure Pol can elaborate on that for you, MM. .

At last I have the money to finally build my dream machine
RAF_Louvert replied to jamieandnici's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. It's all gone now Parky, I stuck my head in the microwave and zapped it. Worked like a charm. Only side effect is that I now seem to have developed ADD and it's....hey look at the spider! Why is Austrailia so far away? How do they make pencils? I like oranges! Did you see "House" last night? Woah, my shoe's untied! It's snowing, it's snowing! I want popcorn! . -
The SPAD and I must nee TrackIR.

Vermillion & White Fokker Triplane Skin - Jasta 18
RAF_Louvert replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. That's a beauty Olham, well done Sir. Also, while the fecal colors may help hide you against the backdrop of the ground below, I still like a bit of flash on my planes. Throw caution to the wind and look good when you crash and burn. . -
The SPAD and I must nee TrackIR.
RAF_Louvert replied to Wodin's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Agreed. Both the Spad and SE5 are boom and zoom fighters and as long as you stick to that type of attack you will do well with them. I have never been much of a BnZ pilot so I prefer planes like the Camel, Tripe, and Nieuport 17. But to each their own. And yes to your original point Wodin, the Spad has awful visibility from the cockpit, but it is pretty. I for one have enjoyed that prettiness numerous times as I've plummeted to my death after being shot to hell by the enemy I could not see. . -
A Challenge - even for "advanced Pilots"
RAF_Louvert replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Even fighting off one Camel in an Alb DVa is a challenge, much less a whole caravan of 'em. Good luck Olham. . -
Setting the Priority for OFF Manager, Graphic Card Monitoring & TrackIR
RAF_Louvert replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Hmmmm...that might explain the inordinate amount of tissue bits I have to stick on to me 'ol kisser after planing off the stubble every morning. . -
Aerial Reconnaissance Photo Book - Cheap
RAF_Louvert replied to Dej's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. I too suffer from the same affliction, Hasse Wind. Also, I just scored a copy of Watkin's book today as well. Should be here by early next week, looking forward to giving it a read. . -

Setting the Priority for OFF Manager, Graphic Card Monitoring & TrackIR
RAF_Louvert replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Parky wrote: Now hold on there Parky! The handsome pills my doctor prescribed have definitely been working for me and I see improvements every day when I shave. And I know they are not placebos because the same doctor gave me some memory improvement elixir last year that really did the trick. It did taste a lot like cherry soda, but he said that was just to make it easier to take...at least I think that's what he said, I really can't remember at the moment. . -
Setting the Priority for OFF Manager, Graphic Card Monitoring & TrackIR
RAF_Louvert replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Parky, I played around with the core affinity setting on my system and found no real improvement but rather had some glitches and freezes occur while running OFF in that configuration. As to the priority settings debate, I will say that on my system the improvements were quite minor, but still noticeable, (mainly in the smoothness of TrackIR during very rapid head movements in a dogfight). BTW, here are my system specs: CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0ghz Wolfdale 6mb 1333fsb 45nm, (OC'd to 3.8), with Arctic Cooler Memory: 8gb DDR2 PC2-6400 800mhz, (OC'd to 840) Mobo: ASUS P5QL Pro Hard Drive: two Western Digital 640 GB Caviar Black SATA Opti Drive: LG 22X DVD+/RW Dual Layer SATA Rewrite Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512mb PS: Diablotek RPM 900w ATX Tower: large Cooler Master, with two additional 130mm case fans, (total of four) Windows XP Pro 64-bit OS Olham, which programs you can shut down vary quite a bit depending on your OS and the additional programs installed. . -

Setting the Priority for OFF Manager, Graphic Card Monitoring & TrackIR
RAF_Louvert replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Yes indeed Olham. I gave this same tip quite some time ago in one of the threads here. I set TrackIR at "high", and OFF at "higher than normal", and I shut down everything else I don't need. Also, if you have multiple hard drives and you want to run FRAPS, install it on a different HD from your OFF install; makes a giant difference in performance when running video capture. . -
. Sorry to learn you are having computer issues WM. I feel your pain Sir. Hope you can sort it out soon. .
-
. You'll do well in the OFF virtual skies, Smilingmonkey. And I still get the butterflies when I see those first contacts after the long, eye-straining minutes of patrol, and even more so when the enemy comes streaking down out of the clouds unannounced. .

At last I have the money to finally build my dream machine
RAF_Louvert replied to jamieandnici's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Jamieandnici, that rig will not only run OFF, BHaH, HiTR, P4, P5, and P6, but also the National Defense Grid. You might actually have to dial it down a bit to avoid hinkyness with the old CFS3 engine. Wowzers! . -
Aerial Reconnaissance Photo Book - Cheap
RAF_Louvert replied to Dej's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. I just might have to scoop one of these at that price. Looks like it would be a very informative read. Thanks for the heads-up, Dej. . -
Multiple Claims Question
RAF_Louvert replied to Cody Coyote's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. That why Mongo no like warp. Mongo like CTRL+SHIFT+E to go faster, and CTRL+SHIFT+R to slow back down. This let Mongo still maintain control but go zoom-zoom through time. Actually, Mongo no use these anymore either because he like to fly full real, but when Mongo learning OFF he use these lots. Mongo like OFF...and candy. . -
Bad day's above the Western front...
RAF_Louvert replied to Wodin's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
. Yes, Archie did not get really awful until well into the conflict. I set ground gun accuracy at "easy" until about mid-1916, after which I bump it to "normal" until the end of the War. This seems to be about right from all the accounts I've read of our RL heros. I do the same with rear gun accuracy for the two-seaters as there seem to be a few too many magic bullets coming from those beasties otherwise. . -
. WOOO HOOO! Now the fun begins Smilingmonkey. I envy you all the joys of "first discovery" in this fine sim. Hurrah for the next man to die! .
