Winder, Pol, I have a fix for the graphics, the only thing is you have to do without some of the effects. Go into Settings and turn off all post effects (Bloom, Post Saturation, blood, etc). Then go to Nvidia Control panel and override application settings and Vsync force on. It cleared mine up considerably. You can see the difference. It doesn't completely eliminate it but it's a big improvement.

Don't you mean a 289?

Your TAC shows the ground unit under the balloon, if you can find it among the others. Find the ground unit and look up.

I drive a Mustang but it ain't no '66 convertible. It's a '93 LX Hatchback. Five liter, five speed. I like it. I've been driving for 11 years. It's getting a little long in the tooth now. I need to get a little Jap beater to drive so I can rejuvenate it. I'm not getting rid of it.

What's the muzzle velocity on that piece Siggi? -
Did you know that Pierce Brosnan also did a few episodes of Thomas the Tank Engine? My little boy loves it, so I watch it regularly.

I just got back from a little jaunt over the front in a SPAD myself. I landed next to the trenches and watched an artillery barrage. Pretty cool, until they started getting to close! The more I tweak it to fit my rig the better it runs. About the only thing I don't have on as far as graphics is Bloom and Post Saturation. I turned them off and the fps went up considerably. I also changed the terrain from high to medium. It's pretty smooth now. The planes look great as do the cockpits. They would look much better (as would the terrain) if you could use more AA/AF. I've got them both maxed in the game, AA at 4x and AF at 8x. I tried going to Nvidia Control Panel and set it to override the application setting but it didn't help. If I could get rid of the "jaggies" it'd be great. The screenshots show what I mean. See the difference in similar views from the SPAD in RoF and BH&H. I hate jaggies! :angry2:

That's exactly what that is. CJ -
The reason I ask is, I'm setting up an old computer for my boy to run RB3D. I've got two old machines, neither of which will run OFF, one's an HP and the other is a Dell. I have the system disks for the HP but unfortunately they only work with the HP. The Dell is a good bit faster but has no HD so I'll be needing an OS when the new HD gets here. Anyone? Thanx, CJ

The graphics do look good, but they could be a lot better if they get the AA/AF thing worked out. I've got the sim maxed out in the graphics dept and am still getting bad jaggies. That's to be expected when the AF maxes out at 4x. Going into Nvidia control panel and setting it to override application settings did nothing to help. The distant terrain is constantly "swimming" and there doesn't seem to be any way to fix it. My machine seems to hold it's own quite well on high settings, but when I lowered them to try to get rid of the swimming terrain it didn't help. I'll probably put it on a shelf and fly OFF until such a time as they get the major problems worked out and add some content. Cutting edge physics and damage modeling aside, as it stands now, IMHO it isn't a pimple on OFF's ass. CJ

Lancashire huh? What did they do with the 4000 holes after they counted them all?

(RoF) Rise of Frustration
Cameljockey replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I skipped the registration fiasco as I was already registered at the RoF site. I've been watching this for quite a while. CJ -
I haven't had a problem starting the game (connecting)yet. It seems to update and start right away. I'm either lucky or I listen to what folks tell me because I got my problems with ROF sorted out quickly and had 0 problems setting up and running BH&H. I did get kind of admonished (not too bad though) at SimHQ when I said that the tech support at Neoqb could take some lessons from OBD because you guys were no less than fantastic in that area! I really hope they get all their M&Ms in one bag because it has the makings of a really great sim, but things need to be done. CJ
-
I'm not wishing them bad karma. The sim is beautiful. I flew around a while ago, once I got off of the ground. The ground handling is abysmal at best. Were these planes that hard to keep in a straight line, or am I just a crummy pilot? I've done a donut in a SPAD and flipped the DVII on it's back. Maybe I should use a more user friendly FM. CJ
-
Well, I hope they get it sorted soon. I got it for Father's Day from the kids and I have had some problems, but not as many or as bad as some are reporting at SimHQ. Mine were mainly in configuring the controls (the thread I started is a sticky now) and I'm not happy at all with the AA/AF. I'm getting "jaggies" and I've got both set at max in the game. I went to Nvidia control panel and set it to override any application settings and it didn't improve. I seem to be getting good framerates with settings at max with my rig, but then again, I haven't had any other aircraft flying with me or against me yet. The sim looks great. The scenery and especially the water. The ricochet effect is nice also. I strafed a lake and some of the rounds actually ricocheted like they often do. I'm not going to say much now because I need to explore a little more. It's got a loooooooooooooooooong way to go to compete with BH&H IMVHO. CJ

Just to give you an idea, there are 38 threads in the Tech suppport forum and 415 posts as of now, and it's growing!

RoF uses F12 for "TV" (whatever that is) and causes a conflict. Your best bet would be to go into the Trackir program and map it to a joystick or another keyboard key. That's what I had to do. Works fine now. CJ Maybe it would be best to post these on the WWI discussion forum, just to keep the peace.

Scored a set of pedals

Probably not. That card is for a desktop. Have you gone to Thrustmaster.com and inquired about it? Maybe they have a workaround. CJ -
I haven't really flown it enough yet to form an opinion because my SPAD keeps shedding it's wings in Training mission #3. CJ

I got a MS Sidewinder FFB stick with a gameport hookup and my machine lacked one. A USB adaptor did not work so I bought one of these. Works like a champ now FFB and all. And only $7.99 US http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16829130001 -

Not wishing any bad karma on Neoqb, but if they ever go out of business I'm hoping they'll release a crack so the game can still be played. CJ
