  1. (RoF) Rise of Frustration

The Missus says I need a third shoe. She calls me tripod. CJ
  2. (RoF) Rise of Frustration

Hey, no doubt! Ain't nothin' gonna replace BH&H. I''m frolicking with the blonde tonite, but I ain't leavin' that cute little brunette for nothin'!!!!!!!! That is, for as long as she'll put up with me! CJ
  3. (RoF) Rise of Frustration

It's a DVD with some other goodies. Haven't flown much yet. Took a while to figure out all the config stuff. Like the ricochet effect though. I learned something really quick. If you don't get the tail off the ground soon, you ain't getting off the ground. I went around that airfield, trying to get off the ground, I thought I was in NASCAR. I finally figured it out and got it off the ground. CJ
  4. RoF First Impressions

Just got my copy of RoF. I'll take her for a test flight and let ya'll know what I think. Back in a while. CJ
  5. You can set your aircraft detail at 5. It's the "Aircraft Skins" settings in "Workshops" that needs to be set at "Normal" to show damage. High Res skins don't show damage.
  6. Happy Fathers Day all.....

Congratulations to you and the Missus! You're embarking on a never to be repeated journey. Savor every minute of it. CJ
  7. Windows 98

Yeah, one AGP 4x and 5 PCI slots.
  8. Windows 98

What's your grocery list look like? At this point I have an ECS K7VZA motherboard with an AMD Athlon 1.2Ghz CPU, an Antec EA 500 PSU, 512Mb of PC133, CD burner, and a GeForce4 MX440 64Mb video card, and a sound card with a gameport. All I really need is a HD. RB3D always seemed to work better with Windows 98 to me. Never had a problem. Would that Voodoo SLI setup be better than the MX440? CJ
  9. Windows 98

I'm setting it up to run Red Baron 3D, which should run great. I've got the disk I bought in '98 and it still works fine. Then I'll load OvS' Hells Angels for him. He loves to watch the dogfights and RB has the "dogfight autopilot". He'll watch for a while and then he wants to fly. By the time he hits five or six he'll be online kickin' some serious booty! CJ
  10. Windows 98

I've got a board with a 1.2Ghz AMD Athlon and the memory, vid card, etc. Just need an HD and Windows 98. I'll be looking to upgrade my machine in the future and will use the parts from it plus the ones I've got in the closet to build him a decent one, but right now he's only 3 so he really doesn't need that much. What I've got will do fine for now. Thanks though. CJ
  11. First Eagles, Over Flanders Fields

Here's a couple more OFF shots.
  12. Was OFF discounted again?

Got to pay for that "free health care" somehow.
  13. Rise of Flight review on SimHQ Forum

That all depends on which Ford you're talking about!
  14. Rise of Flight review on SimHQ Forum

Well fellows, I just pre-ordered Rof and will be receiving it in a couple of weeks, at least that's what the latest release date (6-29) says. I'll try it out and give you an objective review and comparison of RoF and BH&H. I must admit that I've been an OFF flier for a while, but, that can be an advantage to being objective because I am familiar with it's good points and it's bad ones. From what I've surmised so far RoF will be released with two, count 'em, two flyable planes, the Fokker DVII and the SPAD XIII. In my opinion it only comes with one flyable as I abhor SPADS just as much as I do Thunderbolts. I'm not a boom and zoomer. I love a good dogfight. So, in the amount of flyable planes available, RoF loses, hands down, right out of the gate. Single player campaign in RoF is almost non existent from what I've read. So far, from what I've read, there are some canned missions and a mission editor so you can make your own if you'd like. Compare that to OFF's dynamic SP campaign mode and it's a slam dunk who wins there. Right now I'm just speaking from what I know about OFF and what I've had confirmed by those in the know about RoF. I'll refrain from saying more until I've had a chance to fly RoF, which should be in a couple of weeks, barring any more delays. CJ
  15. Is it just me.....

I just pre-ordered RoF. When it comes in I'll fly it and give you guys a review, unbiased of course. If it's not as good as OFF, there's always Ebay! CJ
  16. Was OFF discounted again?

Glad you can finally afford it Jaa. You won't be disappointed at any price. I just ordered that other WWI sim which shall remain un-named here but it won't diminish my love for OFF. If you want to be a participant in WWI like you've never been before, you can't beat OFF, and it's getting better and better. CJ
  17. Happy Fathers Day all.....

With a "Leatherneck" and a flak jacket probably!
  18. This is just plain cool!

Dammit WF2! I was bound and determined I was going to wait to see if they dropped the "you know what" before ordering and then you come up with this. Decisions, decisions. Nice video. You may have sealed the deal for me. What is in the NA release as far as aircraft are concerned? You know? CJ
  19. Happy Fathers Day all.....

Thanks Duck! I'll be spending the day with my three year old son. We have a lot planned for today. Well, not a lot. Mostly sitting on the bank of our favorite fishing hole or maybe take to the skies in BH&H. He has the same love for airplanes that I do and enjoys BH&H immensely. You have a great one too Duck! The fishing hole does sound great though! Yeah, that's it. CJ
  20. Talk about living through the war! http://www.gnn.com/article/wwi-vet-becomes...dest-man/535140 You know he remembers them. CJ
  21. OvS! You don't have a mistress named Kaeti do you?
  22. Widowmaker: check six!

Welcome back Olham! I was beginning to wonder if you'd gotten lost. Check you pms. CJ
  23. Was OFF discounted again?

I reckon that's the price you pay for being one of the first. Cest la vie! CJ
  24. Was OFF discounted again?
