  1. Phase 4

I'd be more than willing to pay for upgrades/plane packs. Considering the amount of content in the initial release, there shouldn't be a whole lot of stuff left to purchase, and no internet connection required! CJ
  2. Enough to make you weep!

I've seen this pic before. IIRC that is a parts plane at one of the museums or restoration facilities in OZ. It reminds of a fellow I know here in Hampton that had a '56 Nomad sitting in his yard. Many people offered him good price for it but he wouldn't sell. One day I went to his brother's house/junk yard next door and I noticed that he had removed the front fenders, hood, etc and left the body itself in the weather. It had already gotten so bad that it was virtually unrestorable. I wanted to kick his a$$ for doing that to such a classic. Stoopid. CJ
  3. Have to smile .....

Hear, hear BD! Very well said. I have been watching RoF for a long time myself and am very impressed with what I see, but..... the offline (I use that term loosely) content is almost nonexistent from what I've read and problems with the servers have been discussed at SimHQ also. The "always online" requirement, even in SP, turned me completely off, as well as the automatic updates. As I stated in a thread at SimHQ, "I don't even let Bill Gates get away with that". I like to choose what goes into my computer. Some may think I'm paranoid but these days it's wise to be a little wary. CJ
  4. Have to smile .....

As someone at SimHQ put it, I'm one of the "wait and see Mafia". I won't go as far as to say bye, bye Rof, but it's a definite "not as it stands now". CJ
  5. So much for comrades of the air

What more could a noob 2nd Louie ask for than a seasoned sergeant for a wingman. Many a rookie have been saved by an old NCO!
  6. Bump Maps and skinning...

Just goes to show how much I know about the subject.
  7. Saying Hello!

For the best performance, definitely the Core 2 Duo machine. CJ
  8. Bump Maps and skinning...

Are you talking about bitmaps? (.bmp)
  9. I have a copy in English sent to me as a gift from a foreign friend. Good flick. Not very historical but what the hell, it's a good way to kill a couple of hours. CJ
  10. So much for comrades of the air

I know how you feel. I'm working on my own Arlington National myself. CJ
  11. Have to smile .....

Viks talks about it here.......... http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2698679/1.html CJ
  12. So much for comrades of the air

You can signal your wingmen to attack by pressing "A", for them to split press "S", when you need help press "H", and when you want your flight to rejoin press "R". CJ
  13. Have to smile .....

Do you know something we don't Gremlin, or are you just phishing?
  14. Have to smile .....

From what I gather, the only flyables available at this point are the SPAD XIII, Fokker DVII, and the Nieuport 17. As of now the British are excluded. I personally am taking a "wait and see" attitude on RoF. Right now it's the same price as BH&H, but has nowhere near the content. If they persist with the log on requirement for SP I won't be buying at all. Like I said, wait and see. CJ
  15. Best choice for F/F joystick?

I don't know how much help I can be since I'm on my first FFB joystick. I'm using a Microsoft Sidewinder FFB that was given to me by one of the members here and it's awesome. It comes highly recommended and I recommend it myself. It's a great FFB stick but also a little hard to find since MS doesn't make them any more. CJ
  16. Have to smile .....

If they persist with the log on requirement for SP, I'll be in that 10%. Since MP really isn't my cuppa, the game is pretty much useless to me.
  17. Europeans V American's MP

Oh my! Does this mean that we're the warmongering bastards everyone says that we are?
  18. Europeans V American's MP

I've got to get a headset and get in on this!
  19. Have to smile .....

I am very interested in RoF (hence my reading reviews and personal opinions at the RoF site and others) and would seriously consider purchasing it were it not for the log on requirement every time the game is played. After reading some first impressions and learning more about the game, I believe, for my brand of simming, I made the right decision in purchasing OFF BH&H. I have been an avid RBII/3D flier for years and absolutely love the dynamic campaign in it. BH&H just took the RB ball and ran the whole 100yds with it. Since MP and scripted missions don't appeal to me personally, I don't see where RoF has anything to offer me at this point. I will, however, keep an eye on it and if the situation changes as far as a dynamic campaign and no DRM are concerned, I'll reconsider my position. At this point it's a no-go for me. CJ
  20. Have to smile .....

I read your post at SimHQ Dirk. I'm just waiting to see how long it takes for Ming and Flyretired to get on your six and beat you down 'til you die. CJ
  21. NEW Wallpaper Uploaded

What was used to compress the file? I can't seem to get it to open once I downloaded it. CJ
  22. Have to smile .....

I couldn't say. I guess that shows how concerned I am about it's release. :whistling:
  23. Have to smile .....

It's supposed to be released in North American tomorrow. If they reconsider the online requirement I may purchase it even though I'm not an online flier. Until that time, the answer is no. CJ
  24. AI is beautiful

If you look really close, you'll see him, and he is not beautiful.
