  1. I just started a campaign with 56 Squadron on April 1, 1917. We're still in England flying home defense. CJ
  2. MvR Triplane Artifacts

Oh well. Fat chance of that collection ever seeing the light of day again. CJ
  3. 1 April, 1917. Myself and the boys from 56 Squadron just tooling around Dover in our shiny new Hispano Suiza SE5s. Home defense is quite boring but allows a lot of time for taking pictures! We can't wait to get at the Huns, but for now we must practice. CJ
  4. It never ceases to amaze me......

I've had a few myself Olham. This time I'm flying one. I'll be seeing you. CJ
  5. MvR Triplane Artifacts

EDIT: MvR himself kept a famous trophy collection. I wonder what his reasons were. MvR was an avid hunter from early childhood. Most hunters (the majority of the ones I know anyway) collect trophies from kills. Whatever became of his collection? Anyone know? CJ
  6. Some "Blue Max" movie info ...,

Take a Valium and call me in the morning.
  7. Some "Blue Max" movie info ...,

Another little fact about the movie. The monoplane used in Stachel's final flight wasn't a German plane at all. It was a Morane MS130. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Lxhqmz96IA&NR=1 CJ
  8. Some "Blue Max" movie info ...,

tttiger, with all due respect, you didn't read my post correctly or chose to omit the fact that I said, and I quote "(referring to the poster and the movie)". The guns were the same way IN THE MOVIE. Look closer next time you see it. Or better yet, watch the trailer. Lighten up yourself. CJ
  9. guest apperance by off team memebr

I've never flown MP. I think I'll get a headset and try it out. Hand signals are out of the question! CJ
  10. Some "Blue Max" movie info ...,

I'd like to know (referring to the poster and the movie), how they got the ammunition in and the empty shells out without feed and ejection chutes on the guns? There aren't even any ammo belts! CJ
  11. Video card help

If you have an OEM computer such as a Dell, HP, etc, look on the nomenclature plate on the computer and look for the model and serial number. You should be able to go to the manufacturer's website and find out anything you want to know. If it's not an OEM computer, you can download and run PC Wizard 2008 and it will tell you everything. CJ
  12. CFS 3 DVD Question

I bought my spare copy of CFS3 (CD version) for $6.90 on Ebay. Personally I don't see what all the fuss is about. There is a NO CD crack for GENUINE copies of CFS3 out there. I won't give a link because it may be misconstrued by some as advocating piracy, but in this case I don't agree. If the new (Ubisoft) DVD version can be used without the disk in the drive, what's the big deal if you have a file that allows you to use your genuine CD version without that requirement. Anyway, I've got two genuine copies of CFS3 and the longer they last the better I like it. It says the file in question only works with genuine CDs but I couldn't say for sure that it will not work with one that is not, since I don't have one. CJ
  13. CFS 3 DVD Question

The 3.1a patch fixes the airspeed indicator in the B-25 in CFS3 and has no effect on OFF. CJ
  14. Phase 2 vs 3 questions

No sore toes here Kelly. Just trying to answer your questions. All BS aside though. If you're looking for a great, and I mean great WWI air combat sim, you can't go wrong with BH&H. On hard settings it's extremely difficult, which is as it should be. WWI wasn't a picnic. Talking about the AI, there have been times when I actually felt like I was being hunted by them. They were predictable in Phase 2 after awhile but in Phase 3 they will really keep you on your toes and like I stated before, they will kill you dead, in short order given the chance. And you couldn't ask for better tech support as most of the dev team frequent the forum and a couple are even moderators. Also many of the folks here are knowledgeable about not only OFF, but computers and software in general. Great game, great community. Do yourself a favor and take the plunge......or not. Welcome to the OFF Community! CJ
  15. Meet the Macklroys

Actually Olham, if you look at the upper wing of that aircraft, you'll see that it is a Nieuport. CJ
  16. Finally coming

That's a fact. Well, sort of. You don't have to play over the internet, but you have to connect to their servers to play SP. If their server goes down you can't play until it comes back up. Or if, God forbid, they go out of business, you can toss the game in the nearest trash bin. See this interview at WWI Air Combat. http://wwiaircombat.com/articles/rise-of-f...-demo-confirmed CJ
  17. Over Flanders Fileds Phase 3

No matter what responsibilities you have in life, you have to make some time for yourself. I get up at 6:30 every morning, I get the Missus out of bed (she's a quadriplegic) and get her settled. I then do what I want until my 3 year old son gets out of bed around 8:30 or so, which signals the end of my "me" time until he goes to bed at 8:30 pm. Between him, the Missus, and the housework, my day is plenty full. After that I fly or whatever until bedtime. I do find myself dozing off while flying sometimes during longer missions, but I guess that was a hazard IRL as well. To each his own I reckon. CJ
  18. Finally coming

Unfortunately I have decided to give it a pass. As beautiful as it looks and as advanced as the game engine is, the connection requirement and the auto update are what spoiled it for me. They (neoQb) decide what patches or updates your game needs and installs them automatically. I don't even let Bill Gates get away with that. As always, just my opinion. CJ
  19. Memorial Day Gift

I must admit, I have the utmost respect for you guys. I don't go put the flags out. Being a vet myself, I guess I should make it a point to start. It's probably a little late now, but I can get with the VFW and take my little boy with me next year. I really want him to know about the thousands who made the ultimate sacrifice so we can enjoy the freedom we have. Before I had to quit work to take care of the Missus, I would go to the local cemetery to eat my lunch because it was always quiet and peaceful in contrast to the noise of the steel fab shop where I worked. I noticed one day that the flags on some of the graves were tattered, leaning or even fallen. I walked around the cemetery and corrected as many as I could during my lunch break, but didn't get close to finishing, so It was something I started doing every day at lunch. Flags that were tattered I removed and disposed of properly by burning. Some may not agree but the Confederate vets get the same respect albeit with the Stars and Bars. You guys have inspired me to do more. Thank you.
  20. Nieuport FS2004 model FYI

??????????????? Okay. Look at the bright side. Maybe he'll bring back Phase 30! CJ
  21. If anyone is interested, the entire article is here...... http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/ne...icle6169488.ece CJ
  22. It may be real, but then again it may just be a ploy. Tell everyone that cyberspace is filling up so they can start charging you for how much bandwidth you use. Some companies have already started. CJ
  23. ...and more "what is this?"

An air conditioner (like on an RV)? CJ
  24. Nieuport FS2004 model FYI

Where is the Capt BTW. Is he around here, did he stay behind, or is he here under another name? Anyone know? CJ
