  1. They just may have shot themselves in the foot with the DRM. Oh well.
  2. My incident happen using the original version as delivered. Haven't seen it since. CJ
  3. I have had planes "explode" and continue fighting. As a matter of fact, this was one of them. The second shot was after the "explosion". As you can see, no appreciable damage. CJ
  4. Come to think of it, I noticed the effect when practicing Voss' "flat turns" in the DrI. CJ
  5. I tried it with the OFF Camel last night out of curiosity. Apply right rudder and the nose drops, apply left rudder and the nose rises. Looks like it works to me. Haven't tested the other rotary powered planes. CJ

  7. It's on the way!

How long does it take? That's hard to say. I ordered mine with PayPal on Friday the 30th of Jan. It arrived in the mailbox on Monday the 2nd of February, over the weekend! It varies. I was lucky. It's worth the wait. CJ
  8. Phase 2 vs 3 questions

I hope you have a long list of pilot's names picked out. If you go looking for trouble in BH&H, you'll find it, and it won't be pretty! CJ

Don't worry, you're not alone. We all know what dirt tastes like. If you mix a little gasoline and castor oil with it, it digests better. NOT! CJ

  15. Phase 2 vs 3 questions

IIRC the ammunition loadout for the N11 in Phase 2 is based on 4 47 round drums, that's 188 rounds total, and yes, they were sent into battle with that much ammo. I know it sucks, but that's the way it was. There was a little glitch in Phase 2 affectionately called "the 50 yard bug" where your hits would not register when you are closer than 50 yds from your opponent. I believe that was fixed in the final hotfix. No such animal in Phase 3. Yeah those flying flamers suck don't they. They never were fixed in Phase 2. They're nonexistent in Phase 3. I saw a vid the other day where a plane was going down smoking, then you saw a slight flicker of flame, and then it was a full blown fireball! Fell like a rock. The AI in Phase 3 will kill you, dead. I consider myself a pretty good sim pilot, but I've had my butt handed to me by the AI on several occasions. They don't just fly around like drone targets. The aces do not fool around with you, they will outmanuever and dispatch you in short order if you're not careful. Your wingmen will aggresively dogfight with the enemy. I have circled high above a dogfight (my prerogative as flight leader) and watched as my wingmen mopped up. It's something to see. In Phase 3 there can be as many as 225 or so aircraft in the air at any given time. Real flights carrying out their missions at the time and place they are supposed to. No random spawns. After you complete your mission you should, by all indications, be able to find more aircraft in the sky if you look for them. Everything in Phase 3 BH&H is scaleable. The FMs, DMs, the accuracy, potency, and spread of the guns, etc, all scaleable. Set 'em like you like 'em. You can make it as easy or as hard as you want. Do yourself a favor and get BH&H. If Phase 2 intrigues you, BH&H will blow you away, sometimes literally! In short, there is no comparison between Phase 2 and BH&H, none. I can also play the CD player!
  17. OT Anyone play a Musical Instrument?

It's too bad that you don't live in the vicinity of Pawnee, OK Rooster. My older brother Darrell is an accomplished banjo player and teacher. He also hand makes his own brand of banjos and acoustic guitars. He made my Dad a guitar for his 75th birthday and Dad said that it was the finest instrument he has ever played. If you ever see a "Ridge" guitar or banjo, my brother made it. I come from a very musical family. Dad played guitar and fiddle before he developed Parkinson's, Momma played piano and accordion as did as both of my sisters. My oldest brother Jerry plays guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards. My brother Rick plays the drums and I play guitar and bass. We all sing. It's just a shame that we haven't all been in the same place at the same time since '68. CJ

  20. OT Anyone play a Musical Instrument?

Good on ya UK! Like WF2 said, practice, practice, practice, but that goes with anything. I play guitar but my "instrument" is bass. I play 4 and 5 string electric bass guitars (fretted and fretless) and also the double bass or "stand up" bass. I enjoy most kinds of music but I absolutely love the blues! My all time favorite is Stevie Ray Vaughn. I was fortunate enough to see him live in concert before his death. Awesome doesn't even describe this guy! http://www.nutsie.com/song/The%20Sky%20Is%...lbum_id=4309415 CJ
  21. You need your own "Joe the Plumber" to do it, but hopefully someone who can write. CJ
  22. CFS3 at Best buy

I Googled "Marty Feldman" and looked through the image results. It's there.
  23. CFS3 at Best buy

Got a brand new copy stashed in a safe place, along with my copy of BH&H and all of the WWII add ons for CFS3. CJ
  24. The Order of the Red Eagle

IIRC Manfred von Richthofen was the only pilot awarded this medal during the war. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. CJ
  25. It practically fell in your lap! (I had to hold him back!)
