There are many great artists who use media other than the norm. I really enjoy the street art. It's grafitti with class! http://weburbanist.com/2008/06/29/top-10-3...s-in-the-world/ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/...rians-edge.html This is some really awesome work by some great artists. It looks almost real. CJ Just a sample.....

It's all about the GPU! Max performance at no cost.

What are the rest of your system specs? -

Cameljockey replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
If you have a bottleneck Hellshade, it's probably your memory. My machine is similar to yours with the exception of the GPU. I run an 8800GTX instead of a GTX280 and I capped my fps at 30 and it never drops below that, never. The devs have said time and again that OFF likes a fast processor (mine's E8500 3.16Ghz) and lot's of graphics memory (8800GTX 384Bit DDR3 768Mb)and since they made the thing, they should know. I'm saving for an upgrade, mobo, memory, and GPU, but for now I'm completely satisfied with the performance of BH&H. Without the fps cap it runs between 40 and 60 fps, but without the cap it will stutter from time to time because of the difference in the high and low fps. With it capped at 30, it runs slicker than snot on a doorknob and looks great at 5,4,4,5,1. CJ -
Awesome Dr.1 in air video ...

I envy you on your concert tour. I toured the UK and Ireland back in the '70s with a variety band. I had a ball. It was an experience I won't forget. You said you were "beta testing". That wouldn't be RoF would it? If you don't want to say so that's fine, but if it is, what is it like? I've had reservations (mostly the log in requirement) about it but I'm still intrigued. It will most likely end up on my HD sooner or later, but a little sneak preview would be nice! CJ -
OT: 'Together We Stand' latest drawing completed.
Cameljockey replied to 02RAF_Puff's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Puff, this is a really outstanding drawing, I mean really outstanding. Like I said in a previous post, it's on my desktop, and will likely stay there for a while. I've already had a couple of friends ask me who did it, and I tell them "one of the guys on the forum". The pilots, you can almost look into their eyes and read their thoughts, and the Hurricane looks excellent......from the cockpit back. From there forward is good, but not long enough or thick enough, and just doesn't seem to fit the rest of the plane. I hate to be critical, but I calls 'em the way I sees 'em. It'll still be my desktop but I felt I needed to voice my true opinion. I hope you won't be offended. CJ -

From the looks of the flames on that PHOENIX I doubt it very seriously. Looks to me like his goose is cooked! BTW, what kind of plane is the allied one? It really looks like a Hanriot, but I know that the Hanriot isn't in BH&H. Is it a Strutter? CJ -

Nice vid WF2. I remember seeing a video of the same aircraft before they covered the airframe. I couldn't understand a word that was said but enjoyed it anyway. Thanks for that. BTW, haven't seen you around much lately. Where have you been keeping yourself? CJ -
This was my best mission in Phase 2, full realism. I haven't fared near as well in BH&H. CJ

Does your system like some squadrons better than others?

You have the game, try it and see. CJ -
I bought Il2 1946 not long ago and I may have flown it twice. World War 2 planes are OK, but I've always loved the old wood and canvas planes. No fancy gunsights, weapons, or WEP, just raw dog, seat of your pants dogfighting! Mano y mano! I don't care for jets at all. CJ

looks good even on all 2s
Cameljockey replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I'm running at 5,4,4,5,1 and getting 40-60fps on Hi res and all is well in the world of BH&H! Spectacular! CJ -

I have Excel, I'll see about doing an update on it. Haven't used Excel much but it shouldn't be that hard. CJ -

Shoot me a PM and I'll email it to you. Typhoon made it and sent it to me. If anyone has an OFF Phase 2 disk from either myself or Typhoon it should be in the "Extras" folder. You need Microsoft Excel to open it as I haven't figured out how to convert it to a more standard format. I checked and it does indeed have all the major participants included. If I can get Typhoon's permission I'll upload it into the Downloads section, or he can. CJ -

Cameljockey replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Olham, I have an aircraft availability chart that was made before BH&H came out but should still be relevant. IIRC it also has the French and British. I'll find it and post it here if needed. CJ -

When I was a kid we used to spend a lot of time in the Kingsland, Llano, and Buchanan Dam, Texas area around Lake Buchanan and Lake Lyndon B. Johnson, Northwest of Austin. A lot of folks around there hang catfish skulls on their fences, barns etc and you should see the size of some of them. I have seen them 18+ inches in width. We used to walk onto Buchanan Dam and feed the smaller ones who would come to the surface. Even the smaller ones were large enough to swallow a slice of bread in one gulp. I always said it was a shame that we couldn't fish off of the dam, and you couldn't get close enough to the dam in a boat. And yes Bullethead, I've heard all of the rumors of catfish almost as big as a small car, large enough to see humans as food, but I really and truly doubt that. They do get large though. As scary as they are, they are virtually harmless to humans, unlike the denizens of the waters here in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Anyone from around here will tell you that huge catfish is nothing compared to GATORS! CJ

Halberstadts happily landing
Cameljockey replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Not to hijack the thread, but OFF is more than just a game, it's a history lesson. Even someone not that into WWI aviation may find themselves wanting to know more about the things they see in OFF. I used to think I knew a lot about WWI but since joining the OFF Community I've at least doubled my personal knowledge base on the subject. OFF and the Community inspired me to learn how to build my own PC, which is something I thought I'd never be able to do. All of this, while not even mentioning the hours and hours of sheer enjoyment I've gotten from it. Salute to Winder, the OFF Team, and the OFF Community! CJ -
Hit Ctrl, Shift, F6 or map it to a joystick button, which is a lot easier. CJ

Did you draw that Puff? Truly excellent work. Ever try skinning? CJ -
Did they get them out of the middle of the airfield? I haven't noticed in BH&H, but I almost creamed one in Phase 2. CJ

Are there any reports from WWI about a bad shooting day?
Cameljockey replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
There have been some days when I could do no wrong, hit/miss ratio as high as 70%. Some days I can't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle! Too much French wine the night before! CJ -
14 Sept 1917 0700 hrs Dear Father, I received the new engine that you and Uncle Fritz reworked for me. It has to put out almost 200hp which will give me some advantage over the Camels and SE5s. I can't wait to try it today. Willi, my head mechanic worked on it all night and just came and told me that it was ready for me to fly. I will write back later (God willing) and let you know how she flies. Your Son, Kurt 14 Sept 1917 0900 hrs Dear Father, Well, here it is, 0900 and we're in the middle of an attack by a flight of FE2s and I'm huddled in the bunker with a bottle of schnapps. The new engine is very powerful, perhaps too much so. Ten minutes ago the flight of FE2s were spotted coming toward our aerodrome and we all ran out to the flight line and climbed in our Albatros. The FEs were flying very high and I really wanted to see how much my Albatros improved on it's climbing ability. After I quickly strapped in I pressurized the fuel tank and switched on the magneto. I yelled contact and Willi pulled with all his might on the propeller. The engine roared to life and the plane tilted very much to the left from the increased engine torque. It tilted so much that it tore the wing off! I just switched it off and waved the rest of the flight on. I was so disgusted. I'll have to tell the riggers to reinforce the landing gear while they are re-attaching the wing. The engine runs very well though. Your Son, Kurt
