  6. Situational awareness is everything in aerial combat, be it 1917 or 2017. Without Trackir you are utterly defenseless against the enemy. I personally don't see how you could fly BH&H with any degree of success without one, not to mention the numerous other games and sims available that support it. Trackir is worth the price, hands down! CJ
  7. OT Your top 3 aircraft of all time?

I see I'm not the only one who likes finesse, and brute force! A little treat, the Wonder Warthog doing what it does best! CJ
  8. So Much for that Idea!

I don't know. No sooner than the engine fired and broke the wing it settled into that HD sounding idle. I think it was the torque from the initial startup. It's not a big deal. I went to QC and tried it. The left wing took a dip but didn't come close to what I experienced before. Maybe there's a difference in Campaign? That's where I was when it happened. Like I said previously, it may never do it again, it was just strange. Gophers maybe? CJ
  9. So Much for that Idea!

That's just it. I always do the control check thing you know, work the controls and visually check for movement. Everything was normal. Stick centered, but to tell the truth, I've never had a problem with that. Also the throttle was full off. I pushed "E" and the engine started turning over, and when it caught the whole plane tilted waaaayyyy over to the left. I've noticed it before (I'm talking about DIII (Early) when I would fire the engine, and have thought to myself that it seemed kind of extreme on the torque, but this is the first time that it has damaged the plane. You think maybe the engine torque on the DIII early is a little out of whack? Or maybe the landing gear is a little weak? Has anyone else noticed this? Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I have never flown such a trouble free sim before. I'm on the original install and have all updates installed and this is the first real problem that I've had. Like I said, this is the first time the plane was damaged, and it may never happen again, I haven't tried again...yet. mucho, MUCHO, kudos OFF team! CJ

The Alamo (Mission San Antonio de Valero) was a mission outside San Antonio where 182 volunteers, including William B. Travis, Jim Bowie, and Davey Crockett, held off the Mexican Centralist Army of Santa Anna for 13 days. The Alamo fell in the early morning hours of March 6, 1836. This prompted the battle cry "Remeber the Alamo" at the Battle of San Jacinto in April, 1836. CJ

No, Texas declared it's independence from Mexico March 2, 1836. For nine years, until 1845, it was known as The Republic of Texas. It's the only state in the Union that was an independent nation at one time. April 21, 1836 is when General Sam Houston and the Army of Texas kicked the crap out of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna and the Mexican Army. The battle lasted 18 minutes. Hundreds of Mexican soldiers were killed but the Texans lost only nine. "Don't Mess with Texas!" CJ PS: From what I hear, they're talking about a repeat performance. This is the latest comment from Governor Rick Perry of Texas....... Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) offers support for a bipartisan resolution in the Texas legislature in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Governor Perry says: “I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state.” GO TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No doubt BH! If you had not mentioned it, I would've forgotten. My Texas history is really rusty. Maybe I should go home and take a refresher course. I've been to San Jacinto many times. Living in Pasadena, I wasn't far away. CJ

  22. If I have plenty of time, Campaign all the way. If not, a quick QC fix is in order. QC is also good for gunnery and aerobatic manuevering practice. CJ
  23. I tried to go to the OFF forum at SimHQ and got the message "There are no forums for you to view". Anyone know what the skinny is? CJ
  24. OFF P3 is.....

Gotta go with you there, Dej. Humility is sometimes a good thing. It tends to make me work harder. Having my a$$ handed to me on a platter occasionally brings me down to earth and lets me know that I'm not as good as I thought I was. It's humbling and motivating simultaneously, but the real beauty of it is there's no script. It's like a different game every time I play. Winder and team!
