Looks amazing - one of the downsides to developing a game is never being able to actually play it. But I have to admit I am pretty keen to look into this three monitor route that seems to be taking hold. Can you tell us a little about it - how do you connect three monitors using software emulators (i.e without a Matrox Triple head) - I assume one needs two GPUs? Can you tell us a little about the performance FPS wise etc? Ta WM -

Its actually even more complex than what you have alluded to so far - but without saying too much, if anything, the AI in P4 should be awesome......simply awesome.... But its still in development - relax play P3......its still better than most. WM -

I can say P4 will be addressing a heluvva lot but I am always interested to here what basic aspect of P3 would folks want to see improved engine wise - IOW what steps forward would players expect to see in a next gen OFF? Keep it real though guys - yeah we all want a 100% realistic virtual world...but think basic macro engine functions and not mirco issues like squad transfers etc. So I am talking engine wise? WM -

I would not go so far as that - CFS3 is actually an amazing engine and was quite ahead of its time in many key areas - evidence is in what you can see now in OFF and the fact that its ran like a dog on the CPUs of the time when it was released. Coupled to the fact that Aces had to release the sim incomplete and the picture is uh complete. I am extremely grateful for the engine that has been bestowed upon us - CFS4 would have been very special indeed and would have allowed the Aces team to finish what is to me an amazing piece of work... HTH WM

It is a CFS3 limitation that we are aware of and we are always looking to improve - the issues are thus: 1) There is no damage model for the gear so when your gear is damaged its not visible. 2) Once the gear is damaged CFS3 seemingly ignores the wingtip contact points - but not always - this is possibly tied to gear % damage and speed of collision with ground...... Basically in OFF you are assigned the historically correct craft for that squad at that time. Browse the squads - you will easily find a squad that uses the Tripe more extensively - RNAS squads should be your focus. Enlist as early on as possible and you will have the Tripe for the longest period. Also bump up the campaign mission frequency in workshops to get the maximum exposure in the craft. HTH WM -

Yes basically I made no changes to the pilot dossiers or related code and installing HIR expansion 'should not' affect any current pilot dossier/career - this has been tested. We just will not guarantee it - PCs etc. HTH WM

Guys, The first addon pack for OFF will be quite extensive and will include: 1) Nieuport N28 2) Nieuport N24 (Brit and French versions) 3) Nieuport N24 Bis (Brit and French Versions) 4) Nieuport N17 Bis 5) Fokker EV 6) Airco DH5 7) Extra squads and amended squads to take the above craft into account for full campaign immersion for all craft - American squads are a key point! 8) Comprehensive skin set for the above craft for full immersion in the campaigns 9) Personalised skin functionality - player can now fly with his own unique custom skin. 10) Actual Wind Buffeting effect as you fly - gets worse with the weather conditions (configurable as off or on in workshops) 11) Wind noise in every craft - speed dependent - increases with speed 12) Revised Railyards - all are now co-incident with railway tracks and with switchbacks and revised textures 13) Overhauled hi res airfield textures and revised airfield tree models 14) Revised forest and woods layouts 15) Revised autogen tree models (only when set to high terrain detail) 16) Improved mobile ground unit deployment in theater 17) Manager main menu picture now changes according to players pilot nationality. And many minor tweaks. Best WM

Lol actually all he does is attack shoes.... a bit like don Quixote but a lot slower...and shoes instead of windmills. He sees the 'shoes' as another male tortoise (blimey must has damn poor eyesight) and tries to turn them over...

Yes Pol and I are putting a lot more detail into the craft - basically the model detail has been increasing since we started 5 years ago. We will be putting together a "Gold Pack" that will feature the most prominent WW1 fighters that are deployed in OFF already, in 'hi res' This 'Gold Pack' is expected to be available 1st/2nd quarter next year but given that its only Pol and I making models there is a proviso: ... all being well. Guys, The sounds mix was fixed in 1.32 to allow the ambient sounds and effects to be dialed in now at correct volumes (each from off/muted to full volume) - so the weightings of the Workshops settings have changed. You can set OFF up to have virtually no external sounds (tending towards 'realistic') - only engine and guns - to full external sound effects and quiet engine sounds ('Hollywood'). Please reset and adjust your settings in workshops - note that the quick preset Hollywood and Realistic weightings have changed - press the buttons to see. If you experiment and adjust the individual settings manually you should be able to have the exact sound levels for the respective categories that you want. Do not just accept what you hear as the best it can be - experiment and I think you will be amazed. HTH WM

All addon craft are chosen so as to give squadron continuation - IOW all of teh craft in teh addon pack enable more complete squadron lifespans with less breaks due to missing craft. Sure one can argue that some others that are missing may be more important etc etc but to us its simply a matter of filling in the gaps in a way thats interesting. HTH WM

Graphics settings changing are part ofthe CFS3 auto optimistation routine - it has done this since MS made it. If you try to set the settings higher than what CFS3 believes you can run it with your hardware, CFS3 'sometimes' decides to reset them... There are a few provisos... 1) It depends on the hardware that you are running 2) It depends on your CPU load when you launch CFS3 Finally by setting your configsoverride.xml file to 'read only' stops CFS3 from ever changing it! This has been a well documented CFS3 issue back in that day but assuming you are a newbie its worth mentioning again. Still HTH (but I offer absolutley zero guarantee) WM -

Yes I can say something about 'it' It has not changed. It has not got files that sometimes vanish. Your PC on the other hand is another story.... be sure! HTH WM -
Guys P4 is a long way off - yes it is being worked on. We plan to have a few payware addons to P3 and the upcoming Addon #1 (no name yet) is the first of them. The addons will see additional craft, squads, Aces, skins (even additional skins for existing craft) and new features, tweaks and improvements as we go with the focus being to fill gaps in existing squads that have missing craft. So P3 is very far from being replaced with a "P4" HTH WM
