Mission and Flight Time no Recorded
Winder replied to Condor44's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Strange, Try going to workshops and reset CFS3 - this clears the MS CFS3 outcomes files and alas all your pilots.... HTH WM -
The update to the scenery is a clean up of all terrain tiles and update of a few remaining tiles to Hi Res so not an overhaul of the terrain per se. On Good PCs you will see the difference. HTH WM

Should not be necessary at all. HTH WM

Hello: 1) We are completing the SP issues and mods for the Super Patch and then will be doing MP and the associated testing thereof and the remaining Global Layer issues (railywards etc) there after - I will look into MP as promised, but we are a very small team so things are not always as fast as we would like. 2) DM: Pol worked hard on it and you guys can play with it and also we encourage third party DM mods as before, as its hard to keep everyone happy. I can say that the DM is in between the old Normal and Hardcore to me by what I see in game but please don't start making assumptions etc as teh patch testing is not complete yet. Old DMs will probably not work on this patch so guys you can all have fun with making new ones if you desire! In reality we have in past versions bumped the DM to offset the fact that we are way better pilots than in WW1 (many more hours in the virtual pit) and we have no fear of losing our life. We have reversed this somewhat and are currently looking into making it harder to make victories in other ways, and we are quite excited about this but no promises or hints yet. So lets see how it all pans out! Unlike many commercial ventures we simply keep plugging away and hopefully making it better as we go. HTH WM

Its a very complex but interesting topic - I am not saying ROF have it right - as I say it takes guts and its a bold move. OFF has it wrong? we have no DRM. Somewhere in between is the right level and trust me there is more coming as we move this industry along... I cannot agree with the 'would not have bought ROF/OFF anyway' - I believe that a sale is a sale no matter who the end user is or his requirement or his needs.... And if the only recourse is to buy it then many would then cough up.... or not.....even if they believe that piratring a game 'just to try it out' is fine (buy it later? yeah right) It would be nice to believe what you say but alas its not like that at all - niche markets lose footholds because of this 'disease'. And it would be nice to believe that only poorer lower income users pirate the software - again not true... Solution? I have none we went no DRM - we are losing sales and we ignore it - nothing to be done. Watch the DRM space many issues are being looked at in many ways it will get worse and you will end up either without ...or pay... or be tracked.... yep even in cyberspace. We make our own destinies. The problem is that they have 30 odd people to pay and they need the sales - as I say it took guts to do what they did and I suspect we will see more of it because basically many (too many) would rather simply get it for free....good business? bad business? Well flight sims are bad business anyway so why not try and get some good out of it? Its only rotten from a user whose perspective is skewed towards feeling like a thief and then possibly acting like one. The downsides are obvious and of course there are many ways to achieve the end result - ROF have been bold and as a user of ROF I have already run into connection/update issues - ce la vie. The flight sim business is marginal and software piracy makes it even more marginal - unlike many FPS games. But here I am looking at it from a Devs POV and when I see how much of our work is pirated then the DRM all makes sense.... Protect what is rightfully yours - and there are two viewpoints and they will always differ. OBD like so many other niche market companies is being robbed, so try to imagine how that feels..... hard? WM
-
Nothing can be done - this is why ROF is as it is and I can fully understand it...they had the guts to make it fully online verified - it has side effects but guarantees a bit more volume of sales. WM
-
We are working on that but its very time consuming - it is about 40% done and will not be in this patch. WM

Choo choos are in since P1... WM

The Super Patch will include the following: 1) Revised DM for all craft 2) Revised FM for Spads esp stall speeds. 3) Updated lewis gun drum for the most critical fighters 4) Updated Se5a Loadout location 5) NEW: Quick Scenarios - jump in and fly missions based on your current pilots nation such as Patrol, Recon, Attack, Escort etc etc about 6 - 8 missions per nation based on a variety of craft and a set of 'generic' squads in the theater for an immersive 'like campaign' experience - you start in the air near the target / objective - perfect for a quickie. 6) NEW: Invincible check box for Quick Combat and Quick Scenario (on the respective screens) - checking this box on the fly makes your pilot unable to be captured and immortal - note the flight is then never logged irrespective of workshop settings - use this if you just want to mess around but not kill your fave pilot - we still recommend a QC pilot but here ya go. 7) NEW: Air Start check box for Campaign missions - on the briefing screen selectable on the fly -default is Ground Start at home base. If checked you start in the air near your target with your escort or escortees - great time saver. 8) NEW: Updated Scenery Model textures. 9) NEW: Updated Terrain textures. 10) NEW: Heavy haze weather effect 11) Other miscellaneous tweaks. File size 180mb approx. It will contain and supercede all other patches and mini patches. Release date - TBD. HTH WM

lol Olham thats exactly what my point was about as well! Yeah I must admit though Pol and I may battle to make 1000 craft in 5 months but we do work hard! WM
-
Well we plan to do it in dollars - but not zim dollars.
-
Exactly we calculate over 1000 craft and variants thereof that we will make this year alone (Pol and I)...... mega bucksville... WM Edited for smileys....

O.K I can say its not additional craft , cos we still hope to sell them for huge capital gains and retire :-) But all will be revealed soon. HTH WM

Yep its the fatal shot that generally counts as to who is getting the kill and remember it counts the same both ways - AI and Player. The OFF manager does not determine who gets the kill, its the CFS3 outcomes data and it is a lot more accurate than what you perceive to have done in the mission. Shooting 100's of rounds does not mean 100's of hits. Finally a comment for Big-Jim - AI is exactly that Artificial - whilst one can make them smarter - and we have made considerable inroads into this, there are many trade-offs to balance, and at the moment we still have finite CPU and GPU power which is also a large function of those trade-offs. So if you want more 'realistically human' opposition MP is your best bet at the moment... and that may not be with OFF. HTH WM

No, OFF has a pretty unique approach to air activity - there are no random spawns - there are up to 256 craft flying from real squads based at real bases on real missions in your area of operations.... These squads are all historically correct right down to location, craft, and historical ace complement... Moreover the air activity and aggressiveness of the opposing sides changes over time as it did during the war over the period of 1915 - 1918 - in addition the air activity also varies on your location - Alsace being the quietest region... Ok..Whats going on with the DR1?
Winder replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Guys just an update on my earlier statement. A few folk have contacted us on support with a problem in 1.31l that disables certain craft when selecting early squads. I have worked with them to fix this bug as I could not replicate this on any of my installs here. This bug does NOT affect the way craft fly in anyway. It has been fixed and will be included in the consolidated 1.32 SP (Super Patch) which is a one download/install on any version patch to bring user up to latest version. We start beta testing this patch soon - it has a few extra things in it! WM -

Winder replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Guys we have had a few issues brought to our attention in patch 1.31l which basically is the cloud fix patch. Anyone having issues since loading 1.31l is best to reinstall OFF and load up to 1.30c... ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE SURE you are having issues. Sorry chaps but I can say only a few are affected by this hence the warning above. WM -
Field transfer mission repeating itself
Winder replied to Fliegenhund's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hi Guys, I will look into this issue - was not aware that it sometimes got stuck in a loop. BTW no scripting in OFF at all . Ta WM -
In first campaign, odd things happening.
Winder replied to Fliegenhund's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Your craft was so damaged that the game exited - its up to you if you decide to continue with that pilot - we are looking at this auto exit scenario... HTH WM -
There has been some questions in this forum and in support about patches and order of application etc and to avoid any confusion we will be reconciling the main OFF patch 1.30 and the two mini patches into one V1.32 Patch over the next week or so - no promises as to release date. Note 1.32 will include a few improvements too: 1) Environmental Sound Fix. 2) XDP/DM rationalisation 3) Auto and Manual Online/Offline craft config management to ensure online connectivity - I am amending some features after some feedback from the MP guys now and then it will be made available as part of the V1.32 patch. 4) Miscellaneous craft fixes eg Spad stall speed, Se5a loadout locations etc etc. A full list will be made at the time of release. When were bullets with smoketrail common among scouts?
Winder replied to Creaghorn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
We do have plans to have the auto swap to incendary tracer rounds occur automatically on the correct sort of date but it will be a while yet as other things are higher on the todo list! HTH WM -
Thanks Jason. And lets hope that combat flight sims continue to be developed and more importantly supported, as by now the market is so very fickle.. game consoles seem to be overtaking us all faster than we would like. Best WM
