Thanks Dimus, I dont have my copy yet either - ordered it a long time back but delivery to SA is always slow. I doubt that I will ever find time to fly as basically since I started OFF I never play games - have a pile of new games here unplayed - I simply bought a copy of ROF for OBD purposes as its important for me to do my own comparisons and plan for the future. Ta WM
-
Yeah James I agree but as I said above I need a copy.... as a benchmark...for the benefit of OFF more than any other reason :-) Cheers WM

Guys, Pol just received his copy of ROF and it seems that AA is not working or we simply dunno how to enable it yet...maybe needs to be done at the card profile level. My copy is in African Limbo so cannot comment on how to get AA working. I am a bit peeved that I paid over 50 US dollars for two craft and moreover no campaign (very important to me) but of course I have to have it anyway.... WM

2 theories and question for the devs
Winder replied to Creaghorn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The flights taking part in the theater are all on real missions - they are not necessarily anywhere near your flight but simply in your region of activity. If you go looking you will run into them They fly from real bases all accurately allocated with the correct Aces etc. Fr example you wont see MVR in Alsace. There is also often a squadron that may be active in your region that happens to be in your flight path - there may be none, one or many.... Regional activity and date (year/month) plays a big role and you will see different activity if you go to a quieter region or the earlier years. The OOB database (Order Of Battle) sets the air activity as a function of the historical date (hence historical activity rating) and your PC density setting so as to make the campaign scale with PC power but maintain historical balance. Finally yes as Pol points out the craft are allocated by flight to the correct squad with the correct skin by unique craft - SQ1 to SQ4 and AC1 to AC5 - if there are more flights than that for a particular craft type then the balance simply get the last craft i.e SQ4's skin but are correctly labeled as the Jasta/Squad they represent - they simply fly with the last skin allocated. This is a 'limitation' that we are looking into as part of P4 expansion, but realistically it is not often that craft variance runs out as we only have so much horsepower for all the flights and we have a diverse range of active craft in most of the periods esp on low and medium density settings it virtually will never happen. HTH WM -
Hi Stump since P1 we have had flights with a mixture of skins and craft - this is no problem as long as its not the players flight. If you have found a way to make the players flight have differing craft and skins I would be keen to hear how you did it?! Ta WM

Refugees and advancing troops over nml?
Winder replied to Creaghorn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Men going over no-mans land only in a battle - historical dates are observed and only major battles Yes at some of the airfields there is a soldier with a lee-enfield or mauser who will track enemies and shoot - it was fun making him. WM -

Thanks Steve this doc is useful to us in so many ways! Best WM -
In P3 you can only claim a balloon if you are assigned a balloon attack mission. I hope to expand this in P4. WM

I think its clear why we have reduced the price over 6 months - standard business practice -albeit a bit faster than we anticipated. Bottom line is sales are almost at a standstill.....and please no lectures on reviews, and ads etc - we are well aware of this and we have approached many for reviews and ads? well I can tell you that ads are not cheap at all yes we looked at that too.... many times.....we are a very small concern and money is not abundant. Bottom line is this is a special offer and we are at this moment not sure how long it will stay at this very low level. Thanks to everyone that has supported us thusfar!! WM

No apologies necessary UK - this is a poll to gather info and consensus for the future!! Cheers WM
-
Hear ya - added an option... ta WM
-
Well I guess the main reason for this Poll is that I want to rationalise down to one DM if possible and stop the alternatives as its a lot of work to maintain 390 DMs....... x 2... for each patch we do.... And we are not averse to an intermediate DM as long as balance is maintained... so now is your chance to let us know!! WM

If you are buying on e-bay please ask for the original Avangate order number. This will do two things, one enable you to have online support via our support e-mail system, and two will verify if the copy is legit. Ta WM

How long can the weather stay crummy...in QC?
Winder replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Quite correct. Hauksbee you are in historical weather mode and the weather is set up as it was on the day way back when....switch to AI weather Gen. Also you can increase the days between fronts(bad weather) and shorten the duration of the fronts(bad weather) when in AI weather gen mode, in the configuration panel, and pressing the Reset button will start you out with clear skies. Effectively you have the full range of weather control options at your fingertips... As for the comments above re P3.... ignore them Pol just loves overcast weather in his screenies. HTH WM -
How long can the weather stay crummy...in QC?
Winder replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Depends on your workshop settings.... what are they? WM -
Yes the sock is correct and your flight will be automatically set up to take off in the 'best' direction... Ignore the smoke... for now... HTH WM

We are 'limited' by CFS3 hardcode - and by 'limited' I mean its a lot of work to unravel hardcode - we have a hardcode 'priority fix' list and many of the hardcode fixes you have seen in P3 were high priority. In P4 there are other hardcode issues that again are higher priority than maps and alas MP. But MP in P3 works as well as in CFS3 thats all I can really say on that. We all know that our focus is on dynamic immersive campaign play, and there is still a viable future for OFF so lets see how it pans out. HTH WM
-
It will be in an upcoming addon craft pack(s) - details soon - how soon dunno. What I can say is that the addon packs will not simply be a craft or two - they will include: 1) Associated Squads and Aces. 2) Campaign enabled/ready. 3) Associated Squad and Ace skins HTH WM
-
I have considered this since P1 but the code change on the CFS3 hardcode side of things is not trivial - the code that shows where you are on the map. In terms of my side of things its dead easy but alas the craft will be shown in the wrong place. Of course the hardcode can be 'modded' - but its all about time and priority. HTH WM

Your consensus of AA ( Archie) in game
Winder replied to Womenfly2's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks for the feedback guys - and yes as Pol says we cannot make them closer without them damaging your craft. We are not after hollywood type effects that are there ony for ooooh and ahhhhh - if its that close you are going to suffer damage. HTH WM -
