  1. Yes the CFS3 Roads and Rivers are made from Vector data and as such suffer from angular effects. Whilst then the Rivers do look a bit unrealistic when viewed from larger distances the roads are O.K as roads are man made. But I think this does not detract that much from what is overall a very realistic environment that OFF P3 offers especially when compared to many other sims, so keep perspective. In terms of improvement yes in P4 the rivers have been completely overhauled along with virtually everything else. HTH WM
  2. Dead is NOT dead?

Yes CFS3 occasionally allows the pilot to walk away from the crash - always has. This in itself is not unrealistic - the problem is that CFS3 never reports the incident or any injury in the outcomes file so we are not aware that anything happened in the manager. We are looking into this in P4 but for P3 its a CFS3 limitation that will stay. WM
  3. Thinking about buying but...

Hi Guys, P4 is a long way off yet and is still in deep development nevermind any testing phase and beta. It will be a standalone product and will not be an expansion of P3. HTH WM
  4. New Nvidia Drivers

I hope so - we are using WIn7 as the dev platform for P4 of course and I noted immediately that the reflections were AWOL! WM
  5. New Nvidia Drivers

I have no idea all I know is that with the latest Nvidia drivers and Win7 I no longer have functional reflections - P3 P4 MAW CFS3 - I thought you already knew this given your post? But the point of my post is that OFF indeed does take advantage of reflections and on my WIn7 system they are AWOL. WM
  6. New Nvidia Drivers

Alas no - no P4 leaks - if you have an Nvidia card the mirror reflections and cockpit glass reflections work in P3 - well they did until the above mentioned 'issue'.... The mirror and glass reflections however have never worked with ATI cards.... HTH WM
  7. New Nvidia Drivers

Mirrors now don't 'work' and cockpit glass is non reflective in OFF as a result of this. WM
  8. RoF 'Hat in the Ring' expansion

'Living World' is the phrase I coined for the system I wrote - yes it is historically biased and that was what I wanted in the system... the campaign engine and database system is a separate entity from CFS3 and is part of the OFF wrapper - the GUI that interfaces to the CFS3 runtime. Yes you fly in a living world where each squad is in its correct place flying missions that suit the period (frequency type etc) with the correct craft, ace complement morale etc. No two days can ever be the same - so thats the dynamic part you will always see different activity - different squads as they go about their daily business. Squads transfer bases, become defunct, or change name exactly as they did historically... Aces die on the day they were supposed to. And yes the ground war is alive as well with the main battles taking place on the correct dates and yes the frontlines move back and forth as they did as well - again this is historically based. Gas and tanks are used where they were historically... I hope to expand this with more ground activity in P4 - CPU/GPU power allowing - yes the limitation is CPU/GPU There are no scripts that run in OFF runtime....I could go into a lot more detail but I think OFF campaign speaks for itself as many I am sure can attest to. HTH WM
  9. Will depend on location, how good you are, your rank and what your CO thinks... no more to say :-) WM
  10. Unless you do it manually as described above - no transfers in P3. There are transfers in P4. HTH WM
  11. Devs - How are QC Hours Logged?

Anyone else seeing this? I dont have P3 loaded so I cannot check but if its a fault that others can corroborate I will fix and patch. I would like as many folks as possible to ensure that campaign only logging is set in workshops and fly QC. If it logs the the flight please post here. Thanks WM
  12. Windows 7 problems

No problem - there are many folks here that are able and willing to help - just keep perspective and I am sure your problem will be resolved. Just to re-iterate OFF P3 and P4 are Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 compatible. HTH WM
  13. Windows 7 problems

P3 IS Win7 Compatible and P4 is being developed on Win7 - you have a problem that has nothing to do with our product so please stop making statements like this. CFS3 and OFF P3 can be loaded onto a brend new fresh install of Win7 and it will run (yes I have done this a few times already) - there is no need to add any other items or packs.... HTH WM
  14. You are talking replayability of the same mission (mission replay) - I am talking about how each mission is setup and the chances of any two missions being the same - so yes different things. I guess you should try it but remember you will have to execute the same maneuvers on time everytime, to see the Ai react the same everytime....and even then the AI can have options of maneuvers to exectute so not as predictable as you would think. HTH WM
  15. Thanks I am in JHB so will search for something closer to home but the part type info is great. Ta WM
  16. Morris where did you get the Intel SSDs from - keen to get some myself. WM
  17. Its a game not real life - and at the moment as accurate as we can make it ..... there are many things that are not as human or as real as it was - including the fact that the player never dies. HTH WM
  18. Hi What version are you running - some fields were relocated to address this - but there may still be some... As to the rest of your post if you find gunnery too easy then maybe look in workshops and play with the settings, moreover the BE2c and Fee were disastrous craft with a reputation of exactly what you see - many crews died in them.... There are some good two seaters and they will give you a hard time but the BE and Fee - nope. As an aside yes the bombers flew relatively unaggresively - in fact this 'tactic' saw many a good pilot/crew killed in the Brisfit because the brits used it as they did the rest of their bombers - straight and level. After a while they realised it could dogfight too and they started to do just that - but it was a great craft - the BE and Fee not.... HTH WM
  19. Yep as Parky says Triangles are a fact with Trackir and are worse with lower FPS..... I have spent days trying to sort it - its an interaction between Trackir and CFS3....so not an easy one to sort. One can get it to be very liveable with good hardware and good settings - I run P4 max sliders and on a good new rig and they are not intrusive at all but they are there. WM
  20. There is no 'scripting' in OFF campaign/missions. One thing I would like to remind everyone is that the duty roster is updated based on a day's activities and of course the following can apply: 1) Pilots that crash in sim may not be dead and may return at end of day... 2) Pilots that return with the player may succumb in other sorties that the player is not involved in during the course of that day. Finally yes P3 is about you the pilot.... WM
  21. Yes quite right and we are very much aware of this which is why we are not tracking actual in sim losses. P3 is more about personal survival than saving your squadies .... but watch this space.... WM
  22. Thoughts about P4

Guys I am reading these... excuse me if I don't comment either way. Best WM
  23. Yes the CFS3 AI just cannot handle the FM in many scenarios - Take-off being another one above and beyond DF...esp on the lower powered craft. Player wise the FM will feel O.K - its the AI. Thats where OFF makes a huge difference. Basically the craft will work in CFS3/MAW/Korea etc - the AI will be the main issue. WM
  24. Great Matt - I have your e-mail addy as ususal - its just that we have not got to that part of development yet - but by all means go ahead and we appreciate it as ever. Thanks Best WM
