Needles a better answer can be given if you are a little more specific. There is a large number of very good books. Is price an issue as there are many online resources. Amazon for new of course, ABEbooks for economical secondhand. Here's a few ideas for start Janes' Fighting Aircraft of World War 1 Knights of the Air from Time/Life Fighter Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War by Lamberton and Chessman German Aircraft of World War One by Gray and Thetford That's a small start. Again specifics would help or just searching the net and finding things that sound of interest to you should work pretty well. Much information can be found at the OFF forum and books have been discussed many a time. Maybe try a forum search there?

Check Controls Before Flight

And always do a check of your TIR too. Views heads, otherwise like me you can get airborne and be stuck with your hat views, nichts so gute. -
aircraft labels, who uses em?
Rickitycrate replied to tone12's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I'm not using it for DiD campaign aka Krauts & Crumpets. I use it when not flying DiD but using most other DiD settings. 1) it is helpful 2) it is interesting to see who you are fighting with 3)it is right to not use it for DiD, just entirely too helpful IMO -
Fans of OFF BH&H or WWI aviation. If you were thinking that maybe you were not interested in the HITR add-on because the planes in the pack were of no particular interest to you, well there might have been a couple guys out there, you should know that HITR is so much more. Honest to goodness improvements are made to so many areas to enhance the WWI air combat experience that if you have OFF BH&H you simply need to have HITR. The HITR add-on is value packed. The devs. seem to be in a relentless pursuit of excellence and continuosly raise the bar for this genre. Feedback from current OFF pilots have been taken into account and many "wishes" have been granted. Do yourself a favor and order yours as soon as you are able.

Definately more Warlike now Mike. Nice job overall. -
There's a local pizza restraunt here with a Railroad motiff. Photo's from the '30's and 40's on the wall of people onboard trains, walking in the station and so on. Every man, woman and child looks classy and dignified. Suits , hats, heels, dresses very sharp and washed. So far removed from the standards of today's dress.

Shrapnel tell us more about them glasses. Expensive, available, comfort, do they look like WWI goggles? -
Men, according to the book The Jasta War Chronology the weather will be crap this month with the exception of the 20th to the 27th. This book has been in agreement with the OFF historical weather. Me I've been captured and intend to make some beer to take back to Jasta 6 when I bust out of here.

How do I make custom skins for my ace in HIR
Rickitycrate replied to appraiserfl's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
nbryant, user made skins go into the skins folder. It happens all the time. Why here's one now There are some 4,000 official skins made by the OFF team and in the CombatAce skins download area there are many more user modified/made skins. When placed in the skins folder all are flyable. There are no A/I only aircraft either. -

HAT IN THE RING! Expansion AVAILABLE!
Rickitycrate replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Von Bauer, you should have no trouble or changes to your current pilots because of HITR. Bandy, when you placed your order there was an option to have an extended download period of 2 years for some $8. I opted for it myself as I know how important HITR is to me and how things can go will computers. -
How do I make custom skins for my ace in HIR
Rickitycrate replied to appraiserfl's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
HAHAHA.. well I'm a lazy idiot and following the information that I and Burning Beard pointed you to I was able to make a crappy skin. Others, like Burning Beard, are much better. See Beards Showbird Spads in the Skins download section, wonderful stuff. We have over 4,000 skins to use now I think. -
HITR First Impressions
Rickitycrate replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Graphicly it seems to me that the airfields and trees and overall terrain looks more true to life and detailed. Love the details in the DH5 struts and textures. The buffetting requires more active flying not just pointing the plane and relaxing. The Brit flak seems whiter to me. I have much more to see but I continue to like what I've seen so far. -
How do I make custom skins for my ace in HIR
Rickitycrate replied to appraiserfl's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
It's not so simple as you might think. There is a subforum full of information if you want to actually create a skin. http://forum.combatace.com/forum/212-off-photoshop-and-paint-shop-help-for-skinning-and-3d-modeling/ It can be very involved so it is not something that OBD could just have as part of the HITR add-on. The reference to being able to use unique user made skins pertained to the fact that when you choose a skin of any sort your plane will be the only plane in your sgaud with those markings. Previously all non-ace skins in your flight looked just like you. -

HITR First Impressions

Is it unnatural or just something we are not yet accustomed to? I need to more time to form an opinion myself but I will be happily forming one. -

Rickitycrate replied to Siggi's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Remember your pilot number is one more than what shows in the pilot log. -
Hmm...can't install the expansion.
Rickitycrate replied to Siggi's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Siggi, I had to do a reinstall maybe a month ago. I saved my current pilots three folders to my docs. and also to a memory card. I did the reinstall and pasted the folders into Campaign/pilots and saved my active DiD pilot so he could die later. I don't know much that was maybe dumb luck. Okay I found the thread http://forum.combatace.com/topic/49512-off-man-fatal-error/ Best wishes, Jim -
