  1. Zeppelins?

Like Sitting Duck said there is a Zep and a Gotha (unfinished0 available. Bear in mind they are not developed by OBD and are unofficial. Fun to have for the time being.
  2. Observations

I've never encountered any of these issues Devil. Nor heard about such probs in this forum. Sorry. I wonder if you are using the no cd crack or whatever it's called. I understand that that causes some funky things to happen. Overall I hope it was a onetime thing and that you are able to fly.
  3. Its out?

I fell for it too Nice info and new screenies, so it was worth the look. I'm excited for this.
  4. The Diamond Dick in action. Thanks to Burning Beard and of course the OBD team for all that OFF is and will be.
  5. Snow on the Bayou AGAIN

Lou, surely I support your comments. That dusting in the original pic is nada although I do undestand the point that was being made. Any of you guys up here in Minnesnowda country can thank me for the lack of snow thus far. This fall I got my first "real man" 2 stage snow blower. So of course now that I have it we will not get much snow. You know how it goes, if you want it to rain, wash your car.
  6. Snow on the Bayou AGAIN

And is that who we call Sitting Duck?
  7. Beard, oh there's definately room for this beauty. My wish has come true. I think that's the full set of Showbird Spads now. You are so kind to share your hard work. My choice will be tough to make when we get the ability to have a unigue player skin with the Hat In The Ring add-on. I just got back from a photo mission to grab some pics of Outcaults "Barber Pole" Spad. Thanks Mike, Christmas has come for me early. I had no idea I had been such a good boy.
  8. Snow on the Bayou AGAIN

Very nice house Bullethead. Who would think that there is a guy in there flying WWI airplanes and enjoying himself so much. You never know what's going on just down the street.
  9. OT: Inbound !

Sandbagger, very best wishes to all. God bless you all.
  10. Cachya for head tracking?

Freetrack is a good alternative to TIR. I got very close to trying Freetrack but then a very good, kind and noble soul passed a TIR my way and I am forever grateful. I'm on a very tight budget too. Unlike joysticks TIR's are not to be found at thrift shops. Right now I am flying with a new in the box $20 X52 and my backup is a $10 X45. I am on the hunt for a set of pedals and I do believe the day will come. I did find a set of Thrustmaster pedals but they need a gameport and my pc won't recognize them with the adaptor. Old technology.
  11. I have finally done it!

A very good day Sakai. Good for you! Make the most of your opportunity. Best wishes.
  12. Das ist richtig. The Americans must hae relaxed the paint scheme dictates during the occupation. I can find ery little information about the occupation period. If that is the right term.
  13. Spad XIII US94 Lt. Dudley "Red" Outcault

Thanks Mike you do awesome work. I truely appreciate the Squad of skins that I longed for thanks to your hard work and generousity. Bless your heart.
  14. Again, many thanks Beard. You're just too good. She looks lovely. The Krauts got nothing on these Showbird Spads.
  15. Winder, encouraging comment. You must have made some progress. I can't imagine all the work that goes into the programming. Thanks for your approach in asking for feedback and communicating some of the developments to us. I think P4 will be awesome indeed because OBD is awesome. I see many devs that are aloof and uncommunicative and have a tone of talking down to the customer/user. May I encourage you to keep the course and know that your efforts are greatly appreciated by many. Best wishes, Jim
  16. My thanks to Burning Beard and Beanie for the skins they have made available in the download section. As always my thanks to team OBD for the original skins and models. I may have gotten carried away with the program I use.
  17. I really like the atmopsheric look of OFF. It is dreamlike or otherworldly, a vision of an alternate reality. As far as what meets the minds eye for expectations I have thought it would be interesting to play without color. All the old footage is in black and white. I do like details tho. The bits and bobs on the aircraft, lettering on the tires and all that kind of thing, the more accurate the better. OBD have sculpted a sim that leaves me satisfied for now and I do believe for the forseeable future. I look forward to the further developments of OFF and I place my trust in OBD to continue to get it right.
  18. Beard, as you know I do love these Showbirds. Thank you so much for the outstanding job you do in skinning them and sharing with us. Pics will be coming to this thread soon
  19. Book Review: The Zeppelin in Combat

Thank you BH. I will keep an eye open for this book. Sounds like a great read. I recently found a French publication icare revue de l'aviation francaise 1968 about Ferdinand von Zeppelin. Fantastic photos but I can't read a stitch of it. My magazine would make an excellent companion to this book you reviewed.
  20. HAT IN THE RING RELEASE DATE?

Dear Morris, I think maybe you are not accustomed to Uncleal. I can't speak for him but I really think he meant nothing personal. He is that crusty old uncle that you might be fond of but he can be a bit of a crumudgeon, maybe he ran out of beer or had one too many? I understand how you might feel but I think he was really going on about the major studios. I'm like you and many others in being very excited about the add-on.
  21. HAT IN THE RING RELEASE DATE?

Ah YES, I'm a big fan. I have to thank the Brits for all the music they've sent my way over the many years.
  22. OT Wet Weekend

Some 10 years ago I saw a program on PBS that was about the past climates. I can't recall all the details but what they did was they took ice core samples from Iceland or northern Greenland and anaylized the contents, chemicals present in the ice strata. The most recent ice of the last 5,000 years or so showed a fairly consistent level of carbon and whatnots that indicated a relatively stable world that they said allowed for man to flourish. Prior to that recent period the strata indicted wide swings of chemicals for thousands of years that indicated all life was challenged to succeed and/or thrive. My take away message was that nature is master of such things. Man is a bit player IMO. You will not find me being a delibrate polluter but rather someone that picks up after others. On my way into a store I stop and pick up some of the litter that's usually laying about. I conserve water use at home and on and on. I rejoiced to see the wind turbines that were erected on Maui as I do think we can be much smarter about our resources. I want a car that requires no fuel, so on. But Ecology is not my religion nor do I think governments have the solutions. These things need to be addressed in the world of free markets of supply and demand.
  23. Confused Newbie

HumanDrone, that sounds great you guys are gonna have so much fun together. I envy you being able to share. You know you could fly a 2 seater together. You could sit up front and pilot with him sitting behind you spraying the sky with lead. It would work like this you fly to the assigned target he's the observer. You have the joystick, he uses a gamepad to control the machine gun. At any one time tho only one of you would have control. If you switch to the observer position the computer A/I becomes the pilot but you BIL can work the machine gun. It's a matter of switching control back and forth. I do this all the time by myself so 2 guys could be a team and share the experience rather than one just watching. Just a thought. Best wishes to you and don't be a stranger around here.
  24. HAT IN THE RING RELEASE DATE?

Sooner or later. They will serve no wine before it's time. Orson Wells understood the 2 week rule.
