Volunteers needed for DiD campaign.
Rickitycrate replied to Siggi's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I was not referring to individual scores but rather a running tally for the group. Only to compare the Germans to the British. -

I'm afraid to start trouble, or extra work, but... seems we have a good thing firming up here under Siggi's guidance with dare I say one small aspect missing. Competition. Would it be much trouble have a running group tally of "Kills" and "Deaths"? For a friendly comparison between teams. Imagine being able to say you have the upper hand, or to know that more effort for the cause is called for to better serve King and Country. Of course it is possible this kind of thing has been planned and mentioned but I don't recall reading it. Thanks all. Maybe total hours flown too? The killboard looks like a spreadsheet, is it one? -

Creaghorn, sorry for your loss. Perhaps he has passed but he will be remembered. I look forward to serving with you in the German DiD campaign. -

We may have an equal number of fliers for each side but more are welcome. One point for my german brothers is to select "always lead" in workshp. In my experience after the initial attack by scouts they fall in behind your flight of 2-seaters. The rearmost plane/crew will be most likely to be in range for the attack of the E/A. The short distance in your plane positions does make a difference. Now if you want to be the observer and exercise your guns, good for training, do the opposite of this. When you lead you are being defended by all of the observers in the rest of your flight. Hold your flight and you will maintain this advantage. -

Siggi is right on the above point. Olham the skin is very good. I too like the orange and black band. No you cannot get the wingmen to drop ordnance without commanding via TAC. Me, I'm a cabbage man. White, green or red. Pickled, fried, boiled or sour. Herr Olham in Paris they have the skirts, no? I'm just catching up to you excited young fella's. -

Rooster I think Herr Olham has ideas for rank assignments too. We had PM'd each other about a few of these very questions I had. -

I think Herr Olham has mentioned he would like to make a special Jasta skin for us. It seems we germans are chomping at the bit. -

Best go with the DFW for the sake of landing safely. I will be happy with any decision and follow my leader. One good thing about the DFW is that there is a pilot in craft. -

Gents, I am wondering if we want to have a sticky for this DiD Campaign? The sticky should include the link for the Sqaud/Jasta boards and would provide a place for communication specific to the subject and to post screenies. As we proceed with the campaign dates the sticky would allow for interested OFFers to follow our progress and hopefully enlist at some point. They will be able to see how well we are doing... if they can do better let them join. IMO if we don't do this we will not get the influx of new flyers that would help to keep this alive. -

Looking good Siggi. Thank you for including the rules. I printed and placed in my OFF book. I also saved the link in my OFF Forum favorites. I saved your email addy in my email addresses as my default email is not one I use. No questions at this time. Just waiting for Jasta assignment from der Hauptman. -
Cutting Engine and outside noise
Rickitycrate replied to thewoo1's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Are you flying alone? Maybe it's your wingies purring along. I'ld say look in Workshop. There are options there for various sounds and adjusting the levels to your preference. Trial and error perhaps. Good luck. -
Different coloured flak bursts
Rickitycrate replied to Stiffy's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The devs have tackled bigger problems and gotten them sorted out in the past. May be it's on the list, a matter of time and priorities. They hear us so if we let them know it will probably make the list of things to look into. -
Stiffy it seems that the more of us that support OFF the more the Devs will continue their great work. So if we can tell our friends, share our experience in Forums and in general spread the good news we will continue to see improvements, upgrades, new aircraft and even new phases or versions. The best keeps getting better.

Cool beans Ax. I didn't know you guys were able to do that. I must check the MP threadmore closely.

Looks very good at this point. One small thing perhaps is the Aileron extension on the left wing? To my eye it seems to be "bent" down alittle bit, actually curved rather than a straight angle. With the right airleon up the left is down, just that bit on the end os a bit off. IMO. The green brushed pattern was factory and probably the most common. There are notable exceptions and variations. Depends on what you are looking for. These crate were part of the "flying cicus" and as such many had fantastic color schemes. Hey Pacman, welcome to the OFF messhall. I'm always happy to see a new face as I do believe you will be very happy to join us in this epic battle. Other guys will answer your system questions I just wanted to welcome you and wish the best. If you have not been to the homepage there is a lot of good information there too. Link at top of page. Best wishes, Jim -
Different coloured flak bursts
Rickitycrate replied to Stiffy's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Stiffy, yes, be amazed. Wonderful sim indeed. My experience is to be aware of your position via map so that when you see flak bursts you have some indicator of who fired the shells, if you are uncertain of the color. This is not for DiD but if you have Tac up and some unknown targets appear you can select the unknown with TAB and cycle through your views to identify exactly what the unknowns are. -

If we hold this Did Campaign together that long it would be nice to get into the new "additional" crates, IMO. -
I just tried to setup my MS FFB2 stick and found the FFB to be WAY too strong to be useable and I could not adjust or diminish the effect. I went back to my Logitech Wingman Force 3D. I decided, for now, against my X45 for OFF as I find the FFB to be an aid and an immersion heightener. Nothing wrong with the X45 but it is better suited to my other flightsims IMO. The Logitech stick works very well and if it does break I am good to go with a backup. Shopping the thrift stores gives me all these options.

Sir Siggi, I vote fliers choice for mixture. You have another good idea with this DiD campaign sir. May it prosper and provide a another fun aspect to our communal experience. Baron von Olham, I have nothing against the Pfalz. I will be happy with any decisions. I await orders. Let us remember there are additional planes coming from team OBD at some point. They will perhaps be assigned to some of the squads/jastas. Not that it will be a problem.
