  1. Olham, I happen to be using a NYKO AirFlow EX. It is a standard pad layout, 2 thumbsticks, but it has an internal fan to keep your hands cool. The fan is a gimmick. I'ld rather have FFB for the observer.
  2. Too much fun! Continuation of the above post as I have another skin I love. This one, the Reed Cambers 1919 SpadXIII by Red Dog. I took her up on campaign and brought down a DVII and a balloon. OFF looks better than ever and my TIR upgrade really works great and makes me feel like I'm in the cockpit more than ever before. Pics don't do justice... thanks Red Dog!
  3. Well I am celebrating my 1001 post in this forum by flying my American Spad as Captain Richard E. Crate. The skin is curtousy of Herr Olham. The DVa in the pics is the Reichsadler skin also created by Olham. Many thanks. This was also my first flight using TIR3 with Vector Expansion. Formerly I had 2 points of freedom now I have 5 like so many of you. Very nice upgrade. This sim keeps changing for me and getting better, as hard as that is to believe.
  4. MiniPATCH V1.32f is now available!

I did the mini thanks. It was a good excuse to visit the Homepage and see the new features there. I suggest poking around gents. Lots of keen screenies and the User Made Vid is fantastic.
  5. Hi Olham, as I recently posted I found that a pc gamepad works very well for an observer controller. Gives better more realistic control and feels right for holding the gun. I did nothing to configure the pad. I just plugged in the USB and the default for the pad was look/aim with left thumbstick and fire weapon was either buttons 1 or 2. I may configure eventually but work good just like that. A big improvement IMHO. It is easy to switch guns when you change positions, just keep the pad close at hand it automaticly works. Bullethead, sir that is a fine job. I hope one day for the Hansa Brandenberg W29 with that pattern. You have done me a favor, if I can download her.
  6. Only a temporary shelter

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him read the posts.
  7. trackIR question

Hi tone 12, welcome to our little group. Since you've enlisted to fly why not send Olham your whereabouts and be included on the OFF map? I do hope you are getting on well with OFF. We on the forum will help as best we can to answer your ?'s
  8. It's Time To Play,"What's My Plane" !

Photo 20: Morane N. The type N or Monocoque-Morane was a mid-wing monoplane powered by the 80 h.p. Gnome or 110 h.p. Le Rhone engine. The airscrew had a large spinner, nicknamed "la casserole", which left only a small annular opening foe cooling the engine, so that it was often discarded in hot weather. The typical Morane wings were of wood and fabric construction with flexable tips to allow for warping. The fuselage was not a true monocoque; it's circular was formed by fitting light stringers over a wooden frame. A balanced elavator was fitted; the triangular fin and plain rudder were of low aspect ratio. Like most of the Morane types the undercarriage struts were of the "M" shape when viewed in front elevation. The craft pictured has a Vickers gun; the syncronising linkage could be adjusted by a nut on the projection above the muzzle. This set-up replace the defctor shields that had bee placed on the airscrews in earler versions. Source: Fighter Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War W.M. Lamberton
  9. Okay Olham, so I replaced my wallpaper of the first picture of the American Spad with this new collage, thank you. Almost looks like two german birds clawing at each other doesn't it?

  11. Heads up my friends!

Thanks Fates. Guys check Fates post above. Looks more familiar.
  12. Is this it?

I really don't think this the final look. According to Erik's post the change would be somewhat gradual and in stages. I think the idea was to enable us to have the forum asap while further work was being done. As always I may be wrong, hehe.
  13. Review at SimHQ

Very nice. I vote yes for "classic"
  14. Heads up my friends!

From what I read in Erik's post I don't know if this the final look. Give it a little more time maybe. It does seem to navigate faster for me.

  16. New Forum Software Announcement

Thanks Erik, I've tried to pass the info to the OFF gang. Best wishes, Jim
  17. Heads up my friends!

Bump just in case some did not see. Looks like it begins late tonight. Erik has posted more information at same link.
  18. A full set, my my. I won't hold you to it but I only wish that some day they could all take to the air at the same time one plane for skin type. Flying Circus my boney bum, hehe. Thanks again Red Dog, best wishes, Jim
  19. I think once you fly OFF for yourself you will see that your commission will come with the knowledge you have helped others to climb aboard for a special WWI experience. I would feel just great if I new I helped bring one WWI enthusiast to enjoy this fine sim.
  20. Thank you so much Red Dog. She looks fantastic. A dream come true for me. You will see pics posted here of my Spad campaign with her. I feel blessed, thanks.
  21. The Hard Stuff

I've always been partial to me rum. Takes me back to me time at sea. Most have been a past life thing. I've been drinking blended whiskey as of late and I find that it agrees with me.
  22. It's Time To Play,"What's My Plane" !

Photo 11: In early summer of 1917 the first F.2B's appeared. The petrol tank was made larger and the lower wing center section was covered in. Except for the first few all F.2B's had radiator shutters. The first 150 F.2B's had the 190 h.p. Rolls-Royce Falcon I engine, the next fifty had the 220 h.p. Falcon II. Thereafter it was hoped to fit the 275 h.p. Falcon III to all the F.2B's, but there was eventually a shortage of this superlative engine. source; Fighter Aircrft of the 1914-1918 War by W.M. 23. I say do both! I may be greedy but I'm not ungrateful.
  24. Olham, I just PM'ed you but I had not yet seen this beauty. Very nice for the new flight model and my future campaign. Please upload her if she's ready, please? Oh, just in case you missed this http://www.internetmodeler.com/2000/septem...a/showbirds.htm You'll see that the sunburst was in fact used at the time so you not far from historical.
  25. Awaiting arrival

Baldric is it, right then, welcome to our little aerodrome near the front. No doubt you've 'eard the bloody shells tormenting our lads in thier miserable trenches. Consider yourself fortunate to be amongst our humble ranks. You will at least have a chance for some fresh aire and a pleasant view of things. I see you've at least left the flight school with some flying time to your credit, humpf, we'll see about that won't we then. See the adjutant for your berthing station and be prepared to buy a round tonight for the next man to die. Oh and pray it won't be yourself.
