Claim realism %
Rickitycrate replied to Broadside uda Barn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
It's all there in the workshop settings. First thing is have some fun, okay. Set things up to suit yourself. You bought it, it's yours The realsim number is just a number. Guys report thier experiences on this forum all the time without referencing the realism number. We don't much care about it. You have a great flight, successful, interesting or unusual... the number does not dictate the fun nor our interest in reading about it in a post. I've been flying QC, pilot never dies for the last 2 weeks after mostly flying DiD campaigns previously. The claims are what you make of them and I never worry about my claims and have not for a long time. It's kind of like the whole FPS thing when first released. We all wanted that high number for fps. Some of us might have gone a little goofy in pursuit of steady 50's but when we got it running smoothe enough we forgot about the number. When I fly at 50% real the number is not on my mind. Just my HO. -
It's there. It's tricky to operate but it has good visibility.

"Gotta luv this game never know whats going to happen." I agree and consider myself a gawker. More than a few times I've taken the bicycle out for a little look/see tour. I pull up to troops and tanks and whatever just to watch them pass by. I like to look at the houses and stuff. Odd huh.

When I do such things I grit my teeth and hold my breath for a bit. One thing about flying a two seater is that you get an additional set of eyes working for you and they are computer controlled. I have a little more security about my six knowing that should an E/A be working into position my observer will give me a headsup by squeezing off a few rounds and give him something to think about. Maybe causing a delay that lets me slip away.

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-wing open crate
Rickitycrate replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Seems like a long time ago but I had limited success with the usual b/z tactics. If you can get a few rounds into the Bebe you sometimes decrease the maneuverablity advantage. So deflection shooting is helpful if you can avoid the stall. I would suggest earlier campaign to get a handle on the fliight characteristics. You will know when you are ready for the N11. Use your wingies wisely as I know you do. -

Olham, good to see you've given the EIII a try. I tried the Brisfit yesterday for the first time. Unbelievable, I know. Anyway, don't be afraid of the little Bebe's. Remember who you are and that that little kite only has one gun and very limited ammo. Happy flying! -

Stump, don't forget that BFG for the observer. I think Uncleal has a desire to pull that trigger. -

I run OFF on my laptop running Vista 32 no problem. I am unable to comment beyond that.

I don't see much damage but my crate is hard to handle. -
geek questions and wish list
Rickitycrate replied to carrick58's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Geek answers #1. Yes the markings are accurate to the time. #2. I don't know but probably. #3. That is the purpose of the mods. To be downloaded and flown by you and your sqad/jasta mates. -
One balloon and five Pups down
Rickitycrate replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Herr Olham. The Kaiser may ground you soon. You have become an important national hero. The fatherland could not suffer your loss very well. You will go on tour for 3 months and speak to the Jasta's and the public. You will rub elbows with MVR and Anthony Fokker. You will be asked to give your opinion on the planes that are under consideration to be assigned to the Jasta's. Then you will be assigned a nice warm desk to pilot for the duration. I think you would rather fly, yes? -
Best wishes, see you soon.

Yeah, those dIII's are like a canoe with the plywood fuselage. Makes sense.

I wonder if we should have a back-up site to go to so we can communicate with each other? Just in cases like this. Hey you never know. I get frazzled when this happens and need to talk to someone asap, hehe. Now I hit the streets looking for familiar names in some of the few forums I belong to.

Jasta 12 at Roucourt castle

This feeds my fantasies of a WWI aviation movie. With todays replica's and these actual locations and some computer art. A trilogy while they are at it. Come on Peter Jackson, please! -

This pic shows a bomb, maybe 25 lbs., strapped under the fuselage. bewtween the pilot and observer. Shows a single bomb but seems it could hould maybe up to 4. I could be wrong of course. -

I figured as much Stump she looks great. Did some further digging and found that besides the lewis for observer in July 1916 in time for the Somme battles the GIV were fitted with fixed forward firing machineguns. My info is found in Fonck related materials. Still no details of bombs. I'll keep at it. I can see they were used for bombing, in particular Zep sheds, but still no details. -

One Lewis, 250 lbs. bomb load is all I could find so far. Resource: The First Air Campaign by Lawson. -
Sounds like a definite winner MK2. I saw it here at CombatAce IL 2 forum.
