Current Status - Super Patch
Rickitycrate replied to Winder's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Soooo... I'm probably wrong but, it sounds like we will need to make a clean install and then hit it with the super patch? Not a problem for me, only wondering. -
Must I mark specific targets for wingmen in dogfight?

You must buy drinks for all of them. Expensive I know. But now you are the big shot Kaiser's Ace. -
Best career yet (luck involved)

Luck. Anypilot in OFF that has made it to 3 missions has seen some degree of luck. Thank god for luck. -

When I read the thread topic I thought you would be the guy with the answers. But it's you with the questions. I wonder, have you bought a round of drinks yet for the lads? You've got to let them know your good for a few pints if you want them to save your bacon, Olham. -

Lots of head on kamikazes?

I still fly the walfisch and enjoy it a great deal. I like the strutter too. I really like the bebe and N17 but I wish they carried more ammo. I can work the throttle to great advantage with the Nupes. When playing P2 I was looking forward to the walfisch. I am not disappointed. I have an attraction for what might be called the second tier of planes. I have not flown the later years higher performance crates much at all. I'll get there. Just can't see working backwards in the technology and history but to each their own. I like what walfisch has to offer and I like her lines. She strikes a fetching pose IMO. -

Wow! Thanks OBD! Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me..... I'm a happy, lucky bastard, happy birthday to me. -
I do think this is the plan for addon planes. Maybe, if that is so, the non-payers will purchase so they can get the additional planes?

If I may suggest, when undertaking a scramble mission delay your take-off. The enemy will give up much of their altitude advantage and also disperse from their formation. Let them come down and seperate. I know it is hard to do but patience in this circumstance will payoff.

Bullethead, I like your style man. Not going for the glorybirds and a relative easy time of it but rather taking on the Fee and sticking with it and learning her and developing tactics to be relatively successful. A sim experience is what you make of it IMHO and you are far from flying arcade there. -

The mount on my game chair had a post that fit into a receiver hole in the base. I simply removed the chair from an office chair and then stuck the game chair onto the office chair base. My model of game chair did not have wheels on the base you see and it was a bit too low to the floor. Now I can roll around and sit properly at my desk. So easy even a caveman could do it. Geico. I don't want to oversell these chairs but if you have been around as long as I and have been on/in any sort of old flimsy, rickety, lightweight conveience that is motorized you know the "feel" the engine in your bones and how when you reach your destination you can still feel it for a brief while. If you could imagine how it felt to be in a running WWI warbird that's what I'm talking about. Now what to do about g-force. -

I think we may tend to favor whatever we may have read first. That becomes our basis for all future comparisons. I look forward to Kent and will have an open mind for new adventures although familiar. The thing I like about historical fiction is the large dose of fact to be had. Yes O'Brian based Aubrey in large part on the life and exploits of Lord Cochrane. So much the better are his stories for that fact and that the naval records are to be had for researchers at the Admiralty Office or whatever it's called. Sorry to have gotten OT. I can recommend "German War Birds" by Vigilant aka Claude W. Sykes. I read it maybe 10 years ago. As I recall besides being informative it was an exciting read. Besides the usual cast of Hun characters and crates lesser known pilots and less typical craft are accounted for including 2-seaters and bombers. Also includes other theaters, Palestine, Macedonia, Turkey and more. Originally published in the early 30's this book is the predecessor to most of the other books you may read about WWI aviation. Great fun really, German balloon busters and naval air ops all written in a lively style. Get it! I'll be rereading mine soon. Thought I would check to see if it was at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/German-War-Birds-Cla...s/dp/1853671649

Yes, Douglas Reeman. The real name of Alexander Kent. I have a number of Reeman books. How does one man write so much?

Pips I may acquire the Musashi books on your recommendation and the fact that I so thoroughly enjoyed the movie trilogy based on the story starring Toshiro Mifune. I read the Hornblower set after having finished the O'Brian set. Enjoyed both a immensely. The next set of such books for me to read is the Alexander Kent series. It may not be as good as Forester or O'Brian but I do so love the genre. Sometime I will get to the Parkinson and Pope sets as well, and others, hehe, ie. Marryat. Thanks for the tip on Hostile Skies.

GB, I am using an X Rocker game chair. If you do a search you will come up with a number of sellers. My spin on this is of course I got mine at a thrift store. Saved $100. I can speak for mine, a discontinued model, and say it truely adds to the experience. If a guy bought one at a Wal-Mart and found it to be unsatisfactory they do have a good return policy. I'm just sayin'. -

I see. You sell us the game with a few aircraft to get us hooked. Now you intend to get us to pay for an additional "aircrack" fix. I don't know what you will charge, but since we started out with so few planes and according to the book "German Aircraft Of The First World War" by Gray and Thetford there are more than 500 aircraft models that were developed for Germany alone between 1914-1918, it appears that you have devised an evil plot to make enough money to buy yourself a beer or two. The greed..... Now on a serious note, thanks! oh, and Best Wishes -

It's called "playing chicken" and you are seeing the usual result. Don't do that. Just your hard luck as I am sure that the AI is not programmed for this and I for one have not seen it with any frequency. So many planes, not enough sky. -

I have not flown the Brisfit yet. You would be suprised to know how many birds I have not yet tried. I relish the anticapation of flying them. I'm working my way forward on all sides of the conflict and many days I do not feel well enough to fly. Yes, my mess of a cockpit and that bottle. Alcohol is flammable so it fuels the pyre. -
She was here earlier today. I saw her at the users listing. Busy lady.
