Hmmmm. I'm a freak for squadron/jasta insignia and aircraft markings. That's where so much character comes from with these crates IMHO. Nice looking Spad in the pics but actually I find it missing the character that I desire. Generic. Very nice but where's the soul?

Love the look of this Cowboy Game

Gun and Red Dead Revolver were hellsa fun. -
P4 suggestion. Have Herr Olham or some other worthy german do the honours for some of the voice acting. A little authentic variety and spice, eh?

LATEST OFF NEWS! 28 June 2009: Work continues on new aircraft, to be released as add-ons. Pics soon! -
Quote Homeboy: The Butt Kicker is a device that connects to your chair and rattles the chair based on low frequency sounds coming out of your sound card. It's basically another form of forcefeedback and works really well. I bought this thing about three years ago for about $60 and never really used it much until I began playing OFF. Let me tell you, when you bring that Spud around for landing and pull the throttle back to idle and the stick and chair are both rumbling, it is a fantastic experience! I wouldn't spend a bunch of money on one of these things but if you can get one for under $100 it's definitely worth it. I agree Homeboy. I don't have a Buttkicker but I use a gaming chair, much the same thing, and I feel like I'm sitting in my crate feeling the rpms of the engine in my back, butt and legs. I feel archie going off around me too. Just picked up a set of rudder pedals and when I get that sorted out I'll have a very nice virtual cockpit.

I use and can recommend Logitech Wingman Force 3D. It's an old stick that I find at second hand stores including Goodwill for very cheap. Adds to immersion a lot. Recommend. Welcome to OFF: BH&H Ogmund. You are in for a great time. While waiting I suggest you read throught the stickies especially Uncleal's "Tips and Cheats" at the top of the forum page.

Pfalz production photographs

These pics really remind me of making a balsa and paper kit like Guillow's. Not so far removed from real life those kits. -
Quote UK Widowmaker: My brother-in-Law was a Student living quite close to that Ped-crossing.... and one day, he was stopped in the street by some Japanese Tourists, who were looking for it. He told them it was the crossing just behind them (a totally non associated one)....and they said it "Didn't look like the one on the Album cover"...he pursuaded them that it had "Changed since the 1960's"....Took a photo of four of them doing the Beatles walk across it...with Angry motorists tooting and yelling...charged them £20...and buggered off! He's a Lawyer now! (which doesn't surprise anyone!) I say: Remember Pearl Harbor!!!! Quote Olham: When I was there in 1986, it was peaceful and quiet - no tourists at all. Great story, Widowmaker. I say: Seems to me there was at least one tourist there. Unless you were at that japanese intersection too.

He did not list the aircraft type and yet he got a confirmation. Sometimes it's who you know/are I guess. -

What can be said but fantastic to all this historic info. Really great and reminds me of so many claims that we OFFers have written. -
Here, here, I second your opinions. Endless thanks to OBD.

I just love this stuff. Gives me more respect for the crates I abuse in the sim. -
Maybe Backoff Boogaloo or ya know it don't come easy would work?

It is definitely Ringo singing Goodnight. There was not a "rule" per say.

Back in the OFF saddle again
Rickitycrate replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I'm not waiting for anything. I'm very happy to have gotten OFF. Welcome back Lou, I see your not waiting either. Dealing with real life must come first though. What some guys may not understand is the summer is here in Minnesota. That means we have about a month to do all kinds of yard and house work before it gets too cold again. Took 2 weeks OFF myself recently. -
Pol is Ringo, Ringo is Pol and Paul is not dead. I too thought it sounded like Ringo, a man I love. You're the man Rings!

Ever tried a one mile glide ?
Rickitycrate replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Good one Uncle. One time long ago I was far from homefield and last survivor of my flight being chased by an E/A and out of ammo. I saw an army camp in the distance made it there and landed as close as I could. I killed the engine and watched and listened as the army guns fired at the E/A and brought it down. I then fired up the engine and made it back to homefield. -
After all this time..... you still have much to do and experience. Such fun.

Ever tried a one mile glide ?
Rickitycrate replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yes guys, been there and done that. Somehow it can be more satisfying than landing uneventfully back at the base. One does need to take a bit of a break after times like that to stop as smell the roses as it were. -
Mark, Wonderful job! Very nice, cleaned up. Printed your new version and will be my primary reference. Thank you!

The cheap bastid, myself, got a set of Thrustmaster Rudder Control System pedals for next to nothing, of course. I was wondering if anybody uses or has used this set? Do I have any hope of using them running Vista? I'll have to use a USB adaptor. Do you think I'll need software? I haven't tried them yet. It seems to be very well made, mostly metal. Self centering. Wide placement for feet. May not work. Sometimes cheap gets you nowhere. Any help? Thanks, Jim I found a website that is giving me some hope. Evidently this was a good rudder control in it's day.

Scored a set of pedals

I found a good website and will be working on the solution later today. It's in a post above. -
Scored a set of pedals

I remember that CJ, only I am running OFF on a laptop. Would your solution work for me? Prolly not. -
Yes thanks for posting first impressions guys. I am interested and curious. I will not purchase RoF for quite some time. For a lot of reasons. The main reason being my contentment with BH&H. I am not happy though to hear of the trouble being experienced. Rather I hope that any issues are ironed out asap. As far as fanboys go, well I'm one, I can understand excitement. OFF: BH&H is right for me. I have shared my impressions of OFF: BH&H and posted update/info at the Aerodrome many times and there are many more RoF posts there. What I want to say is that there have been no flame wars nor nay saying from any of the RoF enthusiasts to my posts. We share a lot in common and are really one small group. It is IMHO best to be supportive, at least in spirit.
