  1. @Rickitycrate: You went on a Lone Wolf two seater mission?!? Isn't that by definition impossible? I mean... there's two of you! And did you have to get witnesses to confirm your recon? This mission was not a Lone Wolf, I don't think that matters for my point. It was a recon flight and after engaging E/A on the way to the target and lossing the wingmen I flew way off course (not following waypoints) in an attempt to reach the target. I had decided to stay close to our lines and it was very indirect path. Soon after I saw this train I was attacked again by E/A. If what I had encountered was scripted these devs have really done something beyond all expectations. To account for my unforseen actions. Lone wolf or not, why would the generator be different? Maybe it is. One of the things I love about our sim is it's unpredictability. There is a war going on independant of our actions. I can remember other times when not flying by waypoints that I encountered and brought down E/A. Lone Wolf, I can't remember for sure. I ask why would the mission type matter for generating encounters? I believe this sim is "off the rails". Minimumly scripted and therefore exciting. Kills verified or not, IMHO. Do you ever take off from the field and say to yoourself, "nothing is going to happen on this flight"? You never know.
  2. I enjoyed that. Had not heard that tune. I liked your beginning shot and your humor too. If that was your first movie I'm impressed and jealous.
  3. Frank Luke

MK2, my thanks to you sir as I was unfit to make a civil comment. F. Luke being one of my hero's. Enough said.
  4. TrackIR

My dear Uncle, I try to read everything you write. I have no criticism. Keep 'em coming.
  5. AUSTRIAN ACE Godwin Brumowski ALBY3 OAW

Hey Stump very cool. I built a kit with his red alby design. I like your coverage of the Austro-Hungarian craft and fliers. Thanks so much.
  6. for uk widowmaker

She looks a litlle "snipey" to me. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  7. Stumpy's new kites

    A Voisin.......? Oh hell yeah!
  8. Misc. Noobish Questions

The various sqauds/jastas have differing morale ratings and levels of experience. I do believe this affects the wingies performance and durability.
  9. American SPADs

Thanks Olham, I would love to see the collection. I wonder how much of this SXIII is original.
  10. Alpine Mission

If you pause before photo you can drop any and all screen aids and pan your outside view for the best angle.
  11. TrackIR

Ras, you're doing good. It's a special club.
  12. Thanks for all participating in today's MP session. I had a blast. It was so much fun to fly with real people. Thanks for helping me to get things sorted out and for being patient. I will fly MP again and hopefully not be such a problem child. I've reduced my engine volume so I should hear you next time. What did we have, 8 flyers? And we ran the whole mission and landed safely. We must have brought down a dozen or so planes including ALB DV's and 2 seaters. Great fun!
  13. TrackIR

I don't get it. What do you see when you view tracking?
  14. I can't answer you question with certainty but in my experience I find that I never know what to expect. I was low over the front and witnessed a train being shelled by artillery while crossing a bridge. It was fun to observe that. I think if one's approach is to minimalize the flight one may well miss out on interesting occurances. May not effect your rating but certainly adds to the immersion factor. IMHO and 2 cents.
  15. Werner Voss...some guy!

Reminds me of a certain Herr Olham aka Bordeaux Red Baron. Out to win the war single handed. They do make a good story.
  16. Heads up Yanks! Tonight is WWI night on Turner Classic Movies. Times Central. 7:00-9:30 Sgt. York with Gary Cooper 9:30-11:30 Dawn Patrol with Errol Flynn 11:30-1:15 The Fighting 69th with James Cagney 1:15-3:20 The Big Parade 1925 King Vidor Classic Enjoy, I will.
  17. I downloaded the "Zeps over Paris" mission, I think Lou posted it. Wonderful fun. Flying a camel, unfamiliar to me at this time. I came across Ernst Udet and brought him down into a side alley in Paris. Our group of 8 or so camels then flew on to intercept the Zeps and came across a flight of maybe 8 spad XIII's. All these planes were flying in the warm sunset of gay paree. The zeps loomed in the distance. I gained altitude as I made my approach, lined up to fire my rockets and found I was too excited about bagging an oversized sausage. I could not bring my aim to bear steady and true. Up, down all over the place. Fire, miss, miss again. Felt a fool and wasted all my rockets. No hits. Came back at the gas bags with my guns and riddled them good. Eventually they lit up, yeeefrickin' haaaa. Made it back to the airfield and a mission complete. I can recommend this mission. I look forward to the gotha missions.
  18. So much for spider solitaire. You are doing bigger and much better things. I should think that if an avid WWI aviation enthusiast would see your work they would have to get their hands on OFF BH&H. It is incredible really how many aspects of interest and participation there is for us OFFers. Thanks for explaining your process and story. We look forward to your next film.
  19. American SPADs

Hey thanks Godzirra for the decal link. I need some 1/28 Spad decals. I read Biddle's book and may have to get a set for his plane.
  20. It's all go now (BHaH arrived)

Welcome aboard Tripe and Wolfar. So much to learn..... so little time. Have a blast! Archie will see to that. Cheers!
  21. American SPADs

Well, the showbirds are historical. They were painted that way after the war and were part of the 94th AeroSquadron that was stationed inside Germany in the spring of 1919. The pilots had a free hand at painting them. I can imagine that maybe some potshots were taken at them from the ground. When the 94th left Germany these planes ended up in Poland in Polish service. I would really like to learn more about this aspect of the 94th. I often wonder..what became of Rickenbacker's Spad. It's a Yank concern of course as he was the inspiration of many a flier in WWII and even now for me.
  22. American SPADs

Velvet those are good pics and eduard makes good models. Here are some skins I would like to see for OFF BH&H http://www.internetmodeler.com/2000/septem...a/showbirds.htm I may have to do them myself, haha. The Reed Chambers plane and the Rickenbacker were issued in 1/48 plastic by Dragon with photo-etch oh maybe 12-15 years ago. The Dragon kits are very nice and have a lot of detail but have been out of production for years already so it is nice that Eduard is releasing thier kits. Never too many kits is there?
  23. CJ, I think you hit it right on the nut. Excuse for increased fees. I remember Y2K. No problems came but someone got rich selling "protection".
  24. I-LOVE-THIS-BIRD!

We use headset with microphone on Teamspeak. I just got done flying with Sittingduck and Stumpjumper. I wasn't much help in the mission but had a great time. Saw my first Zeps in the game. They looked sweet.
  25. A tear or 2 is okay I hope. Just wonderful, truely.
