First time i've seen this
Rickitycrate replied to sitting_duck's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The smoke is nothing new. Only the carbon footprint milarky is new. I have a thousand trees on my land does that mean I can act irresponsibly? No, it means I can't cut them down to maintain my view of the river. Sorry. -
I like the new look of the homepage.

P3 Current Status and the future of OFF
Rickitycrate replied to Winder's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Here's a thought. Any of you guys that have bought some nice piece of kit that is offered for sale on Amazon, say pedals or HOTAS or whatever, write a review of the piece of kit, a user review, and mention how bloody well it works with your favorite sim, OFF BH&H. So no maybe our sim is not for sale on Amazon but it is on Amazon. And there are other sites where the same can be done. I am amazed how little mention there is of OFF at the Aerodrome site. The fans of ROF post there all the time. Myself and some of our devs. have posted there but our community is not so well represented. I would not want to see a flaming war with ROF people but I would think we could have more of a presence there. Here is a nice post from a new user of OFF posted at the Aerodrome. Check it out, from a new user and posted recently, very nice http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/games-fl...e-s-pretty.html Maybe you are not aware of this wonderful site? Maybe I am not aware of other sites myself but let's promote, don't be shy and be sincere is all it takes. Justa suggestion. There are many things in life I love and I have a frustrating time to get the people I love to try them. Let's try to share our love with our brother/sister pilots. If we can help them they will help us. Our community is a great bunch of brilliant and generous guys. Let's help the world to come to know and love our sim too. I think merchandising is a good way of raising capital too. T-shirts, OFF badge, OFF binder, hats yadeeyadeeyada. Anything that can be worn can start a conversation on the street. "Hey mate, what's that you' re wearing? Why it's from my favorite flight sim OFF BH&H and it's bloody brilliant! and so on. -

P3 Current Status and the future of OFF
Rickitycrate replied to Winder's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Winder, thanks for the status report. We are with you. You have made the right choices all along and I stand with you. I only wish I could do more. Like the others I would purchase any add-ons you OFFer. I am optimistic about sales picking up. Even as other product hits the market I can see an increase of interest in our sim based on it's merits. One product cannot be all things to all people. If only Oprah would mention OFF on her show... or some dictator give Barrack Obama a copy. Anyway, many thanks to you and team OBD, God bless and best wishes. -

Barnstorm I am new to this but can recommend you download Gous' 2 tutorials. Download the dxt program that Stumpjumper linked for us and decide on a paint program for your editor. -

Winston's tracers and smoke mod
Rickitycrate replied to Winston DoRight's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I did it thanks for the easy to follow instructions. Increases the immersion yet again. It's interesting to see how many rounds are filling the air. Not that I can count it but now I can see it. And I can see that not all shots at my crate are hitting it. It used to seem that way. Thanks guys. Back in January I thought I was in WW1 heaven but this experience just gets better and better. -

Rickitycrate replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
Lou, I'm loving this skin. You may have the winner here. I am so impressed with the latest skinjobs all the skinners have posted. This one may take the cake tho. -

This dragon skin of yours taking the cake Lou. Criminey... what a look. Exotic and period. I love the upper wing. It's nice for us to have the freedom to create these non-historic skins but have them fully functional in game. You blow me away with this one tho. -
What do you play most? QC or Campaign mode?
Rickitycrate replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
As much fun as quick combat is campaign is where it's at for me. It's kinda like leaving your comfortable back yard and getting out there and seeing the world and all it has to OFFer. You never know what to expect. I love the encounters with the other aircraft and the sense you get of their purpose, what is their mission, where are they from? Should I tag along? Will my pilot survive to fly another day? It's the questions that can make the difference, the choices, the caring for you pilot and wingmen. Yes DiD campaign for me. -
Thanks to Gous' tutorials in particular and all your nice skin projects for inspiration I have started my skinning efforts. This is a challenge for me but I can see how skinning birds can be an entire experience (game) unto itself. I will post my first effort for you amusement soon, I hope. I am using paint.net program for my editor and find it works well. I have my skin design finished and now need to get it into the OFF skins folder somehow. I have so many ideas for skinning. I was wondering if Stumpjumpers creations are reskinable. I have some nice images to work from and if there is a Gotha GIV. I would hope to skin at least one at some point. I like the night time camo of many of the german bombers. Thanks again to all you skinners and for anyone thinking of starting I say go ahead, give it a shot. If the village idiot (me) can do it, it seems I can, then anyone can. If nothing else it helps to put some perspective on the work that has gone into the developement of our sim.

Lou, I haven't flown her but she looks great. Photo-realistic. -
Fubar, your Bulldog looks marvelous. Very nice work. We seem to have quite a gentlemen's club here. Any toe stepping would not be malicious I'm sure.

All this talk of fishing made me do it
Rickitycrate replied to Rooster89's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
Hey Rooster, very good. It reminds me of a pike trolling lure. You may be trolling the skies but I don't think you will practice "catch and release". What fun.
