  1. Large scale models

Wow! Thanks you guys. I'm a modeler and that Wingnut site has fantastic looking kits and all those reference materials are fab! For now I need to build the kits I have. If I ever get a real job I may have to get some of these new kits.
  2. I have sat in the plane many a time and watched the action safely. Try to take refuge at a friendly base and watch the groundfire bring down the E/A. Then you can fire up the engine and take off for home or wherever.
  3. Greetings chaps

Welcome to the Off flock Macklroy. You are in for a wonderful time. Be prepared for a steep learning curve and a lot of reward. For many of us OFF BH&H is a great flight sim and at the same time a realtime role playing game. It will help you to study all information you can on this forum and at the homepage faqs. It would help also be a good suggestion, IMHO, to get ahold of some good WWI reading either books or websources. If you were to read our sticky "letters from over the front" and real accounts form the period you would be hard pressed to tell them apart. I can also suggest working your way to flying DiD. Although this is a game ther is no quicksave feature and as much as you will want to rack up a high score you will find that not so important if you are dead. I know you have been reading the posts already and I wish you and all new recruits a wonderful time Over Flander's Feilds.
  4. Thanks for the good laff Dej. I've been there and done that too, haha.
  5. A Little Project

Hey guys thought I'ld share. I'm an old fool.... I mean an old school kind of guy. I still love hardcopy in my hands. Computers are great but to my mind there is something special about books. I have read so many interesting and informative things written and posted in this forum and then lost track. I had even printed some things and then miss placed them. For the sake of organization and ready reference I thought I should start compiling materials into a binder. And since I was doing that specificlly for OFF BH&H why not dress iit up with some OFF/WWI art. I thank everyone that participates in this forum and I hope there is no objection to my little project as you and your contributtions are throughout my little binder of OFF goodies. By the way, questions count as a big contribution. It is a work in progress. So far I have tabs for DiD, Configurations, Skinning, Trackir, Maps and Multi-player. Maybe some of you are like me, well here is a little suggestion/example. I feel a little sheepish as it is so rudimentry. But for what it's worth.
  6. A Little Project

I've been thinking Grumpybear and there is no reason you can't do what I did. Almost everything on the cover and most of the contents was taken right from this forum. The front pic is one of mine that can be found in the screenshots sticky and the back cover is by Rabu and is in that sticky too. The spine is the OFF banner of course and the pilot photos can be found on many websites. My pilot pics came from The Aerodrome website. The front and back covers are collages and can not be printed in a single sheet format unless you were to reduce the size. I did a lot of right mose click and save as. That is why I call it a gradeschool project. Try your ideas and have some fun with it. The binder is a basic 3 ring with clear front and back pockets.
  7. A Little Project

I'm blessed. It's amazing how supportive my wife is. You can see I used your key chart Homeboy. The stick in your illustration happens to be the one I use.
  8. Musical Score for OFF movie 11

This is my wish. That there would be a 3 movie shoot, ala Lord of the Rings, of the Patrick O'Brian stories very similar to Master and Commander and that Mr. Matt Milne would be assigned the task of the new compositions and orchestrations for the soundtrack.
  9. Thats it

Cosmos33, I don't know about the file size if P1 &P2. I do know as far as waiting is concerned you have it easier than most, I assume you just ordered, but the anticipation of the OFF vets back in the old forum was murder. OFF BH&H was "coming soon" it seemed for ages. Then after release they all ordered right away swamping the distributor with orders. Then the long wait for it to arrive in the mail. Well, for us that's past and we are unto better things and you will be soon too. It seems to not take nearly so long to appear in the post as it once did. Best wishes with your waiting. Get ready for a "change" when it does arrive.
  10. Fun with your own WW1 pilot pics

I'm going to try this after I find some more youthful pics. I looked old when I was young and now fuggitaboudit. I'm accused of being a cradle robber and get senior discounts without asking. I get the damnedest looks when I shop for games. Your pic on the right looks real, very nice.
  11. Happy surprises with the Roland C.II

I really like the Roland CII "Walfisch". It is a pleasant experience and I'm afraid it will be overlooked by many. I haven't flown it yet with TrackIR but I look forward to it.
  12. A Little Project

Well GB I would need to see if my old scanner will work with my new laptop. I was going to check that out anyway. There may soon be a revised version of the cover too. I will let you know if I have success.
  13. A Little Project

Thanks Rabu, that pic just captures a nice spirit of adventure to my mind. I'm glad you are okay with my using it. With the binder I just pause and look up what I need to know rather than leaving the game or trying to remember so much info.
  14. The early campaigns are empty?

Warp does drop out everytime there are enemies THBOMK. I wonder if OBD releases more official airplanes if they also include new missions to include the aircraft or if the community will be the ones to program missions. Luiz Carlos, I don't think there is anything wrong, it is just the current limitations of what is programmed and perhaps historiccly there was not much action in that sector at that time. Interlocuter has a very good suggestion for you.
  15. A Little Project

Yes cheap, I am waiting for a cheap price. These games do not hold the place in heart that I have for OFF. I had to have OFF immediately. These others will become available at a low price. I only have the Fallout3 book at this time because I paid very little for it and I knew I wanted the game eventually.
  16. Were's WomenFly2 ?

Yes, Olham helps to make this forum what it is, great!
  17. A Little Project

I don't yet have Fallout 3 but intend to get it soon. I want Empire Total War and East India Company too. I have good sized library but propably along the lines of most of you guys. We do seem to be a literate lot.
  18. AI stands for what...?

CJ, are you going to stick this new avatar?
  19. There has been a rather common comment lately in our posts that many of us have not yet flown very many of the available aircraft. There is no rush of course. But what a testimony to the breadth of this sim. And then taking into account the 3600 skins... we have much to see and much to do and I expect to be happily at this for many years to come.
  20. Sorry I can't answer your question properly. I can say I have been working my way through the crates historiclly for each service and so I've only flown the earliest birds to any degree.
  21. Looking for the skins...

well I was lurking in the bushes over in the skinning neighborhood and saw the paint.net information and downloaded that program and I have Gous' advanced tutorial but I can't seem to be able to open his basic tutorial, you see the village idiot is a bit of a perv too, haha
  22. A Little Project

I know what you mean Olham. In my real world there is no one, zero people who give a flea's ass about any of this. And here you all are and we talk the same language, worldwaroneairplaneese, from around the world. In good humor and a spirit of sharing. My little binder is small tribute to that and the greatness of our sim.
  23. Looking for the skins...

Hey Hauksbee, I'm the village idiot in this community. You were smart enough to ask the question. Now I learned something I badly wanted to know too. Thanks!
