Welcome to the OFF Skinners Section
Rickitycrate replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
I would love to skin. I have Corel Photo-Paint Essentials 3 on my rig. Would this program work? That would be nice. -
Photoshop beginners skinning tutorial coming soon
Rickitycrate replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
I would truly appreciate that Widowmaker and look forward to it although between heaven and hell and empire total war how are you going to find the time? -
If you want to take on the task I think it is a brilliant idea. I'm in.

One of my first reads on the topic. Excellent as I recall and if you enjoy flying the Nieups you will really relate to his experience. You will enjoy it, good choice.

Well I will offer what I can. Click browse, select image file, click green upload button, the manage current attachments should indicat (1), scroll the page down to the group of smilies and just under that is "add reply" or "preview", click. I hope that's what you need.

Minor thing perhaps. I'ld like to see the OFF homepage banner/link back. Along with the current combat ace banner remaining. Like it was at first at the top and bottom.

Hey mates, just had a funny kind of realization. I downloaded fraps. You get the FPS counter with that and then I realized that I had not had FPS on my mind at all for the last 2 weeks. No issues there then. Nice. Not only that I was getting solid 50's fps so I thought I'ld bump up the AA a bit and see how she handles it. Well, virtually same fps so far and sharp graphics. Nvidea card set to quality now rather than performance. Don't get me wrong, I'm not crediting fraps for performance increase. It just seems that things get better and better. New forum, update patches, new/more forum members and a good BHAH review. Cheers to the lot of you!

JUST CURIOUS About DEATH :)
Rickitycrate replied to zoomzoom's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Zoom zoom, yes we had a good thread up for days about this on the old forum called the long slow spiral of death. It is being address in next patch. Please see #8 on this link http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=37449 -
With item #1 there is a bit of benefit in that when you make a claim report there is a decent chane the witness you report is still alive to confirm kill. For #2 it is a known issue and the best advice to this point is to select "always lead" for now. #3, yes it would be nice to not go to the deck so soon in a furball.

Rickitycrate replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Sounds like you are a right proper dad then. -
Thanks, I went with fraps and had success.

Well Now That You Are All Here.....
Rickitycrate replied to Dave's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
That's the thing about snipe. You take the new guy out to a field or woods and have him hold the bag, teach him the snipe call and tell him there's a five spot for every snipe he can get in the bag. Then you and your mates sit back out of his way and have a great laugh watching the doofus. Saw it in a movie when I was a kid a couple of weeks ago. -
So after checking in here at HQ earlier today I was given my flight orders, patrol the front and note enemy troop movements. No sooner did my flight of 3 Roland CII begin to rev our engines that the air raid siren kicked into screaming. Nieuport 17's, too many to count in the commotion. Took off, tried to get some air beneath my wings and climb as best I could. It was a free for all. I singled out one of the sprightly little nupes and got a few deflection shots into him. That had the desired effect of clipping his wings a tad so I might gain on him. I managed to get a few more rounds into him and crawled up his backside. "here's some more for ya buddy". I wondered who this might be... from talk back at the chateau I figured it to be a certain chap named William E. "Moley" Molesworth from RFC 60. I fired another 80 rounds or so in several bursts and he eventually went down into a small woods, setting the trees on fire. We did well to survive against what started out as 2 flights nieuport 17-lewis, 6 crates per flight. Ran out of ammo as did my observer. Having never gotten far from the airfield I was able to put her down unharmed. Filed my claim and came here to make my report and found I had been promoted already to Junior Member. For me the shame was I made quite the effort to take good screenies to post but when I checked the folder they were unusable. Bummer. Village idiot strikes again. Does Radio Shack carry moron chips?

Shot down my first known ace
Rickitycrate replied to Rickitycrate's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yes, let's do the thread and try to have pics with labels when possible like Dej has. Good show Dej. FYI, success with Fraps for me here is my first screenie, non-ace -
I agree WF2. Don't we feel at home already? I think OFF and us the community deserved this change. Seems like a heck of an upgrade to me. Cheers!

SimHQ Review: Over Flanders Fields Phase 3
Rickitycrate replied to a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
A thumbs up he gives it! Ha, he'll be giving it a lot of his time I think. Sounded like could not get back at it quick enough. Up and at 'em I say and God bless ya. Can't really argue with his points IMO. Overall, very nice. Congratulations OBD! -
Yep, mentioned earlier I'ld like to see a WW1 Combat Ace banner and sure enough here it is. What is up with these guys. They are like the OBD team, spoiling us to no end. What a talented generous lot I have fallen in with.

Shot down my first known ace
Rickitycrate replied to Rickitycrate's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Aces met and downed I say. speaking of aces, I am a huge fan of Capt. Eddie or "Rick" and when I see your avatar and read your posts seems I am communing with the man himself, well just alittle maybe, but it does kind of help the immersion thing for me. Thanks again Oh yes I downloaded fraps for my pic needs. Something else to learn but the results will be so good. -

You guys have cheered me up greatly, thanks for that and the pilot info. Catch, you're gonna wear that fricker out if you keep using it. -
Shot down my first known ace
Rickitycrate replied to Rickitycrate's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks guys. At the time it was going down I was so excited. It was one of those moments you long for and here I had intended all along to get action pics. Perfect situation.... Well, I need to report that I was greedy and and wanted another flight and another kill. So you don't know it, over the front while juking and jiving the anti aircraft fire I took one square in the engine and fell behind the lines to serve as prisoner for the duration. Then I found my 20 pics were puke. Oh such highs and lows we encounter in war. Thanks MK2 for the link. Maybe this chimp can figure it out. By the way I am unfamiliar with William Molesworth. I assumed he was an ace because of his name on the lable. Usually says airman or such.
