Yes, Lothar seems to be the brash one ...at least here I've had many of the same feelings as MvR about being low behind enemy lines Maybe Cool ol' Manfred would have let the Tommie go I find it curious that Lothar didn't climb above rifle/MG range before heading home Hmm, was he more afraid of getting caught low by a flight of Brits, or more brashness?

Yep, Gun Jams add another level of realism/immersion to the sim And you'll find this sim is loaded with immersion No gurantee on jams Don't know the exact coding, but 5 sec bursts will get you jams for sure But bad ammunition (bent) was common in WWI The pilots often sorted their bullets to minemize jamming What version of OFF are you flying? You can find the ver at the bottom right in Workshop Gun Jams were an optional update in P2 but I believe standard in both BH&H and HitR In HitR v.1.47 Gun Jam Control is located Bottom Center in Workshop Right below the "Set FOV" Button Ahem ...awfully thirsty thread around here

Hi Toadvine Welcomes to OFF! Gun Jams are designed into the OFF software Best to fire in short bursts, 2-3 sec, to lessen the possibility of Jams If they're still bothersome, I think you can turn Jams off in Workshops btw. New Guy buys the Beer!

Don't worry, a good shopping trip should settle her nerves

Excellent Poem Olham! Writing of a wingman's fireball is a unique angle Only typo I spotted was; I think you meant "wreath" near the end
-
Nice work Jammer! Your graphics always amaze

It's a good rule to stay high in the fight But if I spot a wingie getting pasted down low in a scrap, I'll often sacrifice all saftey and attempt a rescue Even though this has no effect on their fate via the Duty Roster, the attachment requires the effort be made Speaks to the depth of the Dynamic Campaign

IIRC, the Team is looking for a fix to enable both Given their Track Record, I'm sure we'll soon have both options

Pretty Cool Lego Swordfish
Duce Lewis replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Cool little plane I'm just surprised that Swordfish and Bismark are still marketable I'd figure it be all Rockets and Jets now Resurgance of the Stringbag! -
Reading SAGITTARIUS RISING for the first time.

Here's a 33 page preview of Sagittarius Rising for those interested http://books.google....page&q=&f=false Lewis' writing style seems to put you right at the scene ...but then ol' Duce might be a little bias eh? I especially recommend the squadron take-off detailed on page 27 -
Ltn Josef Raesch DVIIF skin uploaded
Duce Lewis replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Nice skin Widow! In WWI the Germans definately had the most distinctive fusalage paint schemes Yet they almost always retained the simple lozenge camo on the wings Does anyone know why? Probably a bureaucratic directive I'm guessing -
I think there's a lot of us who'd enjoy the Snipe I'm sure there are many (like me) who won't touch the Camel because of it's unorthodox flying characteristics Snipe is more stable and would open this type crate to more simmers Would be nice to have it's excellent high altitude performance too

After flying the DVII, which had very good all round visibility I find the Nieup 28 very restrictive The hooded windscreen limits peripheral vision And the lower wing, small as it is, obstructs downward vision I'm missing out on Winder's lovely scenery!

Sounds like a fun childhood!

Widow, that Hanger makes an interesting picture I bet it was also a target interesting to the Luftwaffe Do you know of any history of bomb damage in the area?

If you could go back in time, would you?
Duce Lewis replied to appraiserfl's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Can't say I'd ever choose to go back to a war War is kill or be killed, 2 things I hope to keep outta my life Not that I don't think war is sometimes necessary, and I'd hope I'd do my duty, just not desirable I'd set the time machine to the 1880's I like to be the engineer on a Mississippi river boat I just love the age of steam! In 99, my brother invited me on a trip to New Orleans and asked what I'd like to do there I told him only thing was a river boat ride They all stayed on deck taking in the sights While I spent the the whole trip in the engine room, talking to the engineer and analyzing his steam engine -
Women, you gotta love 'em
Duce Lewis replied to WaldoPepper's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I've actually had an opposite experience where I learned to appreciate a woman's color expertise My Ex and I moved into an old apartment that was straight out of the 30's, cast iron stove and all The place needed a complete remodel, but at $0, you couldn't beat the rent I concentrated on the kitchen which needed paneling, cabinet resurfacing, and countertops She painted all the other rooms in the apartment The work really put a stress on our relationship and we had many a fight I got territorial on the kitchen and insisted on picking the cabinet color Near the end, she started to paint one of the cabinets while I finished up the other After about 3 brush strokes I told her to stop, getting the obligatory nasty "Why" It was the most excruciatingly awful color I'd ever seen, an orangish brown We immedeately went to Home Depot to puchase a different color When asked "What color do you want now"" I said "Whatever color you want" That was the last time I ever picked out a paint color Even when I was President of our Condo Association, we needed to choose paint colors, etc I always agreed with the lone female member of the Board While I admit some men have the talent, in general most men can't tell the different between blue and green Women on the other hand, can sense the differnce between shades and how they affect the room Unfortunately, this places them on the (multiple) decision end of the team, while we're holding the brush -

Rudder pedals or joystick
Duce Lewis replied to Von Paulus's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Good Poit! Remember rudder peds will install just like a 2nd joystick Your twisty rudder will need to be disabled And the elevator and ailerons disabled on the peds -
And a fine looking young man he was Ras Thanks for sharing

Rudder pedals or joystick
Duce Lewis replied to Von Paulus's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I can't speak to the twisty rudder as I bought pedals straight out But I found the pedals very clumsy at 1st Rudder movements were completely new and different I started very mechanical, but now it's so natural I rarely realize my legas are moving I highly recommend the peds -
