  3. Fokker E.V. / D.VIII

Neat Sweet Petite My kinda gal ...and a little wildcat in her too! Nice job guys!
  4. The OFF Campaign PND Standard

I'll agree with you on the Spad and the Pfalz But the DVII is quite definately able to handle getting bounced I wouldn't be too concerned with the Se5 or Alb either

Hi Hauksbee, been away so I missed this RC has been something I've thought about off & on for a while Did some research, talked to some people but never took the plunge You're right, I knew a family of experienced RCer's and their planes were full off patches It's just when I saw Flyby View, it popped into my head, 'This would be great for RC training' Makes sense that there'd be dedicted RC software though Another one of my amateur thoughts was with all the miniturized cameras out there ...can you mount 1 in the cockpit and flyby laptop? ...also thought about mounting BB Guns, M80's ...I'd better stick to OFF before I get arrested
  6. hat switch views

Thanks 6, this little gang here has a lot of great ideas I've learned much more than I've proposed My JS set-up is a little weird I had an X52 Pro but I had lot of problems due to he lack of FFB Flying was quite unstble and gun accuracy was poor ...probably me not the stick Still use the X52 Throttle but now I have a MS Sidewinder Stick This stick is a macho FFB beast ...I love it X52 Throttle has a Thumb Slider that works great as mixture control
  7. Claim realism %

I do much the same but about 5 or 6 senteces usually Wow! 3/4 of a page, have you posted any of these reports? Sounds like a fun read
  8. hat switch views

Dual Mapping can save a JS button I mapped both TIR Recenter and cfs3 Virtual Cockpit View to the same JS Button There's no conflict so they both work simultaniously Use another button for Next View So no matter what view I've selected, 1 click pops up VC View, looking straight down the gunsights
  9. be2c

carrick, I'm not an RCer but I've often thought Flyby View would be great for learning RC Think the hard part (or one of them) is to learn to reverse your control movements when the bird is flying at you Enjoy,
  10. Good show Olham! The Brisfit is my nemsis Even when I manage to make a good pass that blasted TGer always gets his burst in You''ll do well in her I've been thinking about a Roland campaign myself
  11. Beer thread!

As a youth my father would often let me sip his beer I don't know why but this forbidden brew was such a treat for me He drank ...let's say economical labels, Hulls, Black Label, Pabst, Schlitz My favorite was Hull's Bock beer but this New Haven brewery went out of business long before I could have a legal sip About 10 years go, after a round of golf, I spotted another one of my father's favorites, 'Schaefer' on tap in the country club Not expecting much, I was surprized how enjoyable it was It's very hard to find on tap as the brewery in NY or PA has closed and it is now brewed by Pabst A few years ago I mentioned this to a friend and he too liked Schaefer (nobody ever talks about Schaefer) He told me it had won awards but was quite unknown ...aaand it is a wheat beer ...huh? That has started my current love for wheat beer - Hefeweizen Some recent samplings Blue Moon UFO - Blah Weihenstephaner - best so far And the dunkel (dark ...maybe bock) version of the above is on order) But having no current favorite I'll post the one that got me started on this wheat brau trend
  12. So long, my friends

You need a laptop ...but until then, enjoy your sufferings in paradise!
  13. Hunted down like a fox

But Herr Olham, we have an oustanding quartermaster sargeant here at Jasta 35 Strangely it seems he accepts all his deliveries after midnacht This Hefeweissebier was a special gift from the Kaiser Ah here the note saaays "To my favorite Albatross Ace in Jasta... hymph, cough, eh, eh, eh" Sorry something caught in my throat ...So what was that question you have about my evasion technique? You must stop over to our little canteen We have a special order of Hefeweissebier Dunkel that I'm sure will please you
  14. Hunted down like a fox

Olham, I ran outta ammo in my D7 fighting Spads and Camels We were just over the lines, down on the deck Found and opportune time and started a steep climb "Fly Dalla Fly" There were 3 Spads left and 1 followed me He chased me up to 12k ft nearly right over the spot of the scrap Kept turning over him and climbing opposite his direction Finally decided this wasn't getting me anywhere and the flak will eventually get me I started managing my turns better Since I could turn tighter, I kept on my course home longer as he tried to angle in Holding on to the last minute then executed a tight turn as he tried to make his pass Kept the tight turn up till pointed homeward then climbed behind him Eventually this allowed me to slowly edge towards my lines and over During one of the passes, I tried Dej's fake attacks and that made him dive to escape But he kept coming and could outclimb and speed me He chased me to 15k ft and 10 miles behind our lines before he gave up and dove away 15k seemed the height limit as the tight turns/mini stalls lost it it as fast as I could climb Some of the passes were quite close as I'd have to nose down as he passed right over my top plane Der Weilenstephaner Heffeweissbier was quite gute that nacht Next time I'll bring a pistol!
  15. New Laptop

Check Six, I bought a laptop a few months ago Not my gamer but for the everyday stuff This has nothing to do with performance But I bought a MS Explorer Mini Mouse (Mod 1363) Cordless, it has a dual light sytem that works on about any surface, rough, irregular Software installs when you plug the dongle in Snap the Dongle back into the mouse and it powers down to save batteries Really is a nice little addition ...if you have any money left over after buying that rocketship Enjoy,
  16. Goodbye Harry

Rest in Peace Harry We will miss your wisdom and hopefully we've learned from your experiences God bless your soul
  17. Lessons learned about Scrambles

BuB, the Transfer repeat is a separate and known issue A lot (including me) have this problem Simple fix is to Time Advance when the 2nd Transfer pops up Bullett, Scrambles are my all time favorite mission You see, after having dozens of graveyards named after me, I've finally learned to stay high, let em dive Scrambles are like a reset to those old wild days, chase the 1st guy down to the deck Homeboy has it right, stay low and go fast ...gain height where you can Immelmanns, and stalls are hair-raising down on the deck Squirt, turn, turn, squirt, turn, turn, turn Whenever one pops up there's a thrill of excitement and a chill up the spine at the same time It's near impossible to come outta one unscathed but a wobbling deadstick in a beehive of HA is quite an accomplishment I don't care if they're not 100% realistic, to darn exhiliarating to miss Homeboy, I use the map in Scrambles with no issues I have had cfs3 crash when changing views but the OFF Manager still runs Sounds like a different issue but so rare it's not a bother Probably do a Manual Install and/or Reset cfs3 when this pilot klinks off ...or to put it another way - SOON!
  18. Flying home alone from a scrap I spotted another bogie Out of ammo, but I had to have a look Turned out to be another DVII sitting on a friendly airfield Closer inspection showed he was tipped over on 1 wheel and a wing tip ...no smoke or visible damage Not 1 of my M8's so I assume he was just another generated AI flight It looked like he came over the hangers and ground looped Not very far down the runway so whatever he did, he did it fast 1st time I've seen anything like this Do other AI flights attempt landings? Anyone else have any odd sightings?
  19. Lastest Patch

carrick, are you running TrackIR? Sometimes a reset of the TIR USB plug will cure these kind of ills Another option is to do a Manual Install in Workshops You'll lose all your pilots with the MI though HTH,
  20. Great fighten there Olham, Iron Cross in a Day! You can only claim the observation Balloon in the 1st Drop-down And only if it was a Balloon Buster Mission ...as this was Balloon Busters are one of my favorite missions That tension of whether to dive on the balloon or engae/dodge the defenders raises the hair on the back of my neck
  21. Sure would be great ...en sales are up
  22. A Little Oddity

Saw another oddity last night While forming up, A Flight abandoned the circiut and started chasing 2 high bogies I didn't think them worth it so I delayed but eventually followed Turned out to be 2 Biffs that tried to dive away Just as A Flight was closing in, 3 out of their 5 reversed 180 and bugged out right past us Thr 2 Aces kept up the chase and the 3 lower A Flighter's bailed I knew they were lower ranked because they had the same outragous skin I'd just selected Their leaders hadn't outdistanced them, they just turned and fled
  23. ...Do you know somthing we don't?
  24. update german last names

Creaghorn, Glad you got the original Avatar back I agree, it was the best Wondering where you get to play! Thought baseball wasn't very popular outside North/Central America and Japan I think it's being dropped from the Olympics for that reason ...maybe Softball Mind sharing how you got started?
  25. Current Status - Super Patch

Brit_eh, DVII has a compass on the floor, very close to the right side of the seat Nevermind TIR, it looks near impossible to use in RL Can be viewed with TIR but not comfortably HTH,
